  • Patent number: 10649796
Abstract: A network-based virtual computing resource provider may offer virtual compute instances that implement rolling resource credits for scheduling virtual computing resources. Work requests for a virtual compute instance may be received at a virtualization manager. A resource credit balance may be determined for the virtual compute instance. The resource credit balance may accumulate resource credits in rolling fashion, carrying over unused credits from previous time periods. Resource credits may then be applied when generating scheduling instructions to provide to a physical resource to perform the work requests, such as a physical CPU in order to increase the utilization of the resource according to the number of credits applied. Applied resource credits may then be deducted from the credit balance.

  • Patent number: 10649640
Abstract: The perceivability of user interface elements of a graphical user interface can be defined as a selection along a range. At one end of the range, a combination of settings for the graphical user interface allows for a highly-detailed user interface; at another end of the range, a combination of settings provides a graphical user interface having the highest perceivability. The high perceivability may include high contrast, but also may provide other user interface settings to address accessibility issues for an end user. The combination of settings can include attributes affecting the background, transparency, borders and text legibility. The selected combination of settings either sets, overrides or limits values for these attributes of user interface elements during rendering.

  • Patent number: 10650888
Abstract: Techniques are provided for tuning the voltages of a circuit for reading a memory cell capable of storing three or more logic states. To read the memory cell, a charge may be transferred between a digit line and a sense component using a charge transfer device. The gate of the charge transfer device may initially be biased to a first voltage and subsequently tuned to a second voltage to optimize the sense window. After biasing the gate of the charge transfer device to the second voltage, the memory cell may discharge its charge onto the digit line, which may result in the digit line being biased to a third voltage. Based on whether the third voltage exceeds the second voltage, the charge transfer device may transfer the charge associated with the memory cell.

  • Patent number: 10649518
Abstract: A GPU performs dynamic power level management by switching between pre-defined power levels having distinct clock and voltage levels. The dynamic power level management includes identifying a first performance metric associated with processing workloads at the for a consecutive number of measurement cycles. In some embodiments, the consecutive number of measurement cycles includes a current measurement cycle and at least one previous measurement cycle. Based on a determination that the consecutive number of measurement cycles exceeds a minimum hysteresis number, an estimated optimization is determined to be applied to the GPU for a future measurement cycle. A power level setting at the GPU for the future measurement cycle is adjusted based on the estimated optimization. By considering performance metrics including, for example, different processing workloads and hardware configurations, the GPU is able to dynamically adapt its power settings to the particular workload that it is currently processing.
