Abstract: Techniques related to miniature lenses and lens arrays are generally described herein. The described techniques may be embodied in apparatuses, systems, methods and/or processes for making and using such lenses. In some examples, the various techniques may be utilized for miniature lenses such as nanometer to micron sized spherical lenses or lens arrays. An example process may include dewetting polymer films to form such lenses. The resulting lens-size may be tunable from about 200 nm to a few tens of microns, and more particularly in a range from about 200 nm to about 10 ?m with spherical shapes of contact angles ranging from about 30° to about 150°. The resulting lenses may be tunable polymeric structures formed generally by self-organized room temperature dewetting of ultrathin polymer films by reducing the surface tension.
Abstract: A novel technique is provided for preventing routing loops by disseminating Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) attribute information in an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) configured network. Specifically, a new OSPF sub-type-length-value (TLV) is introduced for transporting a conventional BGP autonomous system (AS) path attribute through the OSPF-configured network. Like the BGP AS-path attribute, the new OSPF AS-path sub-TLV is configured to store a set of AS numbers corresponding to the AS path of one or more advertised routes. Thus, when a network device receives an OSPF link-state advertisement (LSA) containing the novel AS-path sub-TLV, the network device determines whether it resides in an autonomous system whose AS number is stored in the sub-TLV. If so, the network device does not install the LSA's advertised routes in its link-state database since the routes, if installed, could result in routing loops.

Abstract: The present invention relates to channel estimation in uplink OFDMA systems and in particular to an efficient channel estimation method involving superimposed training for equalization in uplink OFDMA systems. The method is also directly applicable to the uplink in important linearly pre-coded versions of OFDMA like SC-FDMA. Importantly, the invention provides for the first time iterative time domain least squares based channel estimation method of superimposed training based uplink OFDMA/SC-FDMA wherein the training sequence for such channel estimation is optimal in terms of BER minimization. Hence the method according to the present invention is of improved accuracy and is well suited for practical implementation. The method of the invention can have wide application in various wireless communication systems and enabled devices, cellular systems, handheld devices, computers, PDAs and cell phones and the like.

Abstract: Network traffic information for nodes of a first logical hierarchy is stored at a monitoring device according to ranks of the nodes within the logical hierarchy as determined by each node's position therein and user preferences. At least some of the network traffic information stored at the network monitoring device may then be reported to another network monitoring device, where it can be aggregated with similar information from other network monitoring devices. Such reporting may occur according to rankings of inter-node communication links between nodes of different logical hierarchies of monitored nodes.

Abstract: A Dynamic Digital Pre-Distortion (DDPD) system is disclosed to rapidly correct power amplifier (PA) non-linearity and memory effects. To perform pre-distortion, a DDPD engine predistorts an input signal in order to cancel PA nonlinearities as the signal is amplified by the PA. The DDPD engine is implemented as a composite of one linear filter and N?1 high order term linear filters. The bank of linear filters have programmable complex coefficients. To compute the coefficients, samples from the transmit path and a feedback path are captured, and covariance matrices A and B are computed using optimized hardware. After the covariance matrices are computed, Gaussian elimination processing may be employed to compute the coefficients. Mathematical and hardware optimizations may be employed to simplify and reduce the number of multiplication operands and other operations, which can enable the DDPD system to fit within a single chip.

Immunomodulation is accomplished by administration of immunomodulatory polynucleotide/microcarrier (IMO/MC) complexes comprising 3-6mer immunomodulatory oligonucleotides. The IMO/MC complexes may be covalently or non-covalently bound. Also provided are immunomodulatory compositions comprising a 3-6mer IMO encapsulated in an MC.
Abstract: A remote control station that controls a robot through a network. The remote control station transmits a robot control command that includes information to move the robot. The remote control station monitors at least one network parameter and scales the robot control command as a function of the network parameter. For example, the remote control station can monitor network latency and scale the robot control command to slow down the robot with an increase in the latency of the network. Such an approach can reduce the amount of overshoot or overcorrection by a user driving the robot.
