  • Patent number: 12290118
Abstract: There is disclosed apparel for providing protection and illumination. In an embodiment, a gaiter has a top portion and a bottom portion with a layer of material extending therebetween. The layer of material provides a protective covering to a lower limb of the user. At least one securement mechanism provides an adjustable attachment of the gaiter to the user. The selective mechanism allows attachment of the gaiter with a variety of footwear. A light housing is integrally disposed on an outward portion of the layer of material of the gaiter. The light housing provides illumination adjacent to the foot of a user. The combination of the gaiter and the light housing together provide a body-worn lighting device without attaching the light housing directly to any of the user, the footwear worn by the user, and clothing worn by the user. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 12290037
Abstract: A vertical garden having an assemblage of parts that facilitates packaging and transportation in a disassembled state and/or one or more features that provide an enhanced leakproof design. The assemblage includes a base and planter modules that are stackable atop the base to form a vertical column of stacked modules for growing plants when in a fully-assembled state. The planter modules may be nestable within each other to form a compact bundle of nested modules that is smaller in size than the vertical column of stacked modules when in a disassembled state, thereby providing a kit that facilitates compact packaging of the vertical garden. An intermediate portion of the garden may have a divider that separates a drain path from the fill port of the device, thereby restricting leakage. A catch basin may be provided for capturing debris. A modular grow lighting system also may be provided.

  • Patent number: 12290332
Abstract: A heating system for providing heat to a draped basin containing liquid above the drape. In addition to having at least one temperature sensor that controls a flow of electricity to the heating element, the system has at least one air gap detector in thermal contact with the heating element. Each air gap detector responding to a temperature above a high setpoint temperature for that air gap detector by interrupting the flow of electricity until detecting that the temperature has fallen below a reset setpoint temperature for that air gap detector so that an air gap in proximity to the one of the air gap detectors is prevented from causing a severe temperature excursion in a portion of the draped basin. Thus, the drape is protected from a local temperature excursion.

  • Patent number: 12291237
Abstract: A trajectory planning system for an autonomous vehicle includes one or more controllers in electronic communication with one or more external vehicle networks that collect data with respect to one or more moving obstacles located in an environment surrounding the autonomous vehicle. The one or more controllers determine, based on the discrete-time relative vehicle state, a position avoidance set representing relative lateral positions and longitudinal positions that the autonomous vehicle avoids while bypassing the one or more moving obstacles when performing a maneuver. The one or more controllers select a trajectory from the plurality of relative state trajectories for the autonomous vehicle, where the autonomous vehicle follows the trajectory while performing the maneuver.

  • Patent number: 12292297
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing recommendations of safe driving routes that are tailored to the driving habits of particular drivers. A machine learning model (e.g., an artificial neural network) may be trained using data indicative of insurance claim severity, road conditions, and/or vehicle telematics data associated with vehicle-related incidents, such as vehicle collisions. The machine learning model may be trained to identify road types and conditions that are predictive of claim frequency and severity. Any given driving route(s) may be provided to the trained machine learning model, and a risk value may be computed for the route(s). By further applying a personalized driver profile to the calculations of risk, personalized risk values may be computed for the route(s), and a safest route may be recommended to a driver.

  • Patent number: 12290245
Abstract: Disclosed is a laryngoscope arrangement that channels gas, such as oxygen, through a passageway and out through an exhaust port near or at a blade distal end of a laryngoscope blade of the laryngoscope to infuse a patient with the gas during an intubation procedure. The laryngoscope arrangement can either be a gas channeling laryngoscope or gas channeling sleeve that fits over a significant portion of a standard, non-gas carrying laryngoscope. In either case, the passageway is formed along a manufacturing seam of either the gas channeling laryngoscope or gas channeling sleeve. The passageway is configured to be connected to a gas source, such as a tank or compressor.

  • Patent number: 12293553
Abstract: The present concepts relate to lossless data compression techniques for reducing the size of a data structure. Certain data in the data structure that can be either recovered from another source or rebuilt from other available information may be removed from the data structure. To further reduce data size, the retained data in the data structure may be packed into a smaller-bit encoding data type. Additionally, to reduce the data size even more, the packed data may be zipped using a lossless data compression algorithm. To regain the original data structure, the process may be reversed. The zipped data may be unzipped using a lossless data decompression algorithm. The packed data may be unpacked into the original bit-sized data encoding. The removed data may be restored by either recovering it from another source or rebuilding it from other available information.

  • Patent number: 12291946
Abstract: A downhole perforating gun system provides wireless electrical communication between an inner body conductor, a switch, a detonator, and a feedthrough. Ends on gun carriers of the system couple together end-to-end at end connections. Internal tapered thread is defined in an interior of each carrier's first end, and external tapered thread is defined externally on each carrier's second end. The internal tapered thread of one carrier can thread to the external tapered thread of another carrier. A metal-to-metal contact and/or an annular seal can seal the carriers' interiors from an external environment, and bulkheads can seal between the carrier's interiors at the end connections. Each bulkhead can have a feedthrough conductor to electrically conduct across the end connections. A bulkhead flange can be captured between a distal face and an internal shoulder at the end connection, and a switch can be disposed on the bulkhead.
