Abstract: A device for simulating a patient's lung in combination with a ventilator, manikin, or other external systems. A threaded member extends across a chamber of the device, having a piston and a two-traveler assembly thereon. The traveler assembly, in part, provides a seal between an ambient compartment at one end of the chamber and a pressurized compartment representing the simulated lung at an opposite end of the chamber having an air intake. Other elements, such as an O-ring placed between parts of the traveler assembly, grease added to the traveler assembly, and/or a formed seal and seal cover within the pressurized compartment further seal between the pressurized and ambient compartments of the chamber. The compact form of the device is aided by a volume compensation system which interacts with the external system, measuring air pressure and chamber volume to expel excess retained air from the pressurized compartment.

  • Publication number: 20250135378
Abstract: A water filtration system is shown which uses a number of rigid tubular screen type filter elements having porous exterior and interior sidewalls. The interior sidewalls form an initially open interior axial bore. The filter elements are closed at a bottom end thereof and open at a top end thereof. An elongated spray bar is rotatably mounted for rapid rotation within the open interior axial bore of each of the tubular filter elements. The spray bar has a plurality of slots cut along the length thereof in a predetermined pattern and an internal bore which is in communication with a source of high-pressure air and high-pressure water. The application of high-pressure air or water provides a brief pressure pulse directed radially outward which causes the spray bar to rotate and spray air or water outwardly from the spay bar slots and through the interior sidewall of the porous filter elements to dislodge any collected filter cake from the exterior wall surfaces in use.

Abstract: A method and system for regulating power consumption on an electric power grid is disclosed. Blockchain miners are used as a load bank that can be modulated quickly to accommodate spikes or dips in power generated from wind and solar power producers. The cryptocurrency generated by the blockchain miners allows electric grid owners to recoup the costs of higher overall power production, and accommodates fluctuations that are characteristic of wind and solar power generation devices because the fluctuations from wind and solar devices can be matched by modulating the computational speed of the blockchain miners in equal amounts, thus matching the overall demand and production of the power on the electric grid.
