  • Patent number: 7502105
Abstract: An apparatus for generating a Raman signal of a test sample is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first optical path, a second optical path, a first station, and a second station. The first optical path is adapted for coupling with a radiation source that produces a test beam at the first optical path. The first station is responsive to the test beam and is adapted to house a test standard. The second station is responsive to the test beam and is adapted to house the test sample. In response to the test beam, Raman radiation from the test standard and the test sample are combined and directed to the second optical path, which is adapted for coupling with a spectrometer and a detector for producing a Raman spectrum of the test sample.

  • Patent number: 7501151
Abstract: A method for vaporizing particulate material and condensing it onto a surface to form a layer provides a quantity of first particulate material in a first container and a quantity of second particulate material in a second container spaced apart from the first container, the first and second containers respectively having first and second openings. The first particulate material is transferred through the first opening in the first container into a manifold and vaporized in the manifold. The second particulate material is transferred through the second opening in the second container into the manifold and vaporized in the manifold, whereby the first and second vaporized particulate materials are mixed. The mixed vaporized materials are delivered from the manifold to the surface to form the layer.

  • Patent number: 7502488
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a wavelet transform unit that performs compression encoding in a hierarchical manner by performing discrete wavelet transform on pixel values for each of one or more rectangular regions dividing image data. A digital watermark obtaining unit obtains digital watermark data to be embedded into wavelet coefficients generated by the wavelet transform unit. A characteristics extracting unit extracts characteristics of the wavelet coefficients for each of the rectangular regions. An embedding specification determination unit determines an embedding specification of the digital watermark data with respect to the wavelet coefficients in accordance with the characteristics of the wavelet coefficients for each of the rectangular regions that are extracted by the characteristics extracting unit.
