Abstract: An apparatus for urging an oil film bearing onto and off of a roll neck in a rolling mill comprises an annular hydraulically actuated piston/cylinder unit mounted on a cylindrical section of the roll neck. The cylindrical neck section is delimited at one end by a circular shoulder on the roll neck, and at the opposite end by a circular groove in the roll neck. A retaining ring has lock arms pivotally movable into seated positions in the groove. The piston/cylinder unit is operable in a first mode in an abutting relationship with the lock arms to urge the bearing onto the roll neck, and is operative in a second mode in an abutting relationship with the shoulder to urge the bearing off of the roll neck. The piston/cylinder unit and the lock arms having complimentary tapered surfaces arranged to coact in urging the lock arms inwardly into their seated positions in response to the abutment of the piston/cylinder unit with the lock arms.

Abstract: In an expendable part installation structure and an imaging apparatus implementing such a structure, both disclosed herein, identification features for identifying an expendable part and its corresponding setting part are improved and a replacement procedure for replacing an expendable part is facilitated. A carriage in an ink jet printer includes plural setting parts that are provided with solid portions. Ink cartridges that are arranged to be set to the setting parts are also provided with solid portions. The number of protrusions provided at the solid portion of a setting part is arranged to equal the number of protrusions provided at the solid portion of a corresponding ink cartridge to facilitate identification of a match between the parts. For example, it may be easily determined that an ink cartridge with one protrusion is arranged to be set to a setting part with one protrusion.

Abstract: A data object of a data file that causes an error in an application is identified. In a method for identifying the data object, the data file is processed with the application and the interactions between the application and an operating system are intercepted. The intercepted interactions are correlated with the error and the data object of the data file is correlated with at least one of the intercepted interactions to identify the data object that causes the error.

Abstract: A method of producing a patterned mirror on a transparent conductive substrate comprises the steps of; coating a layer of conductive material onto a substrate, coating a layer of metal onto the layer of conductive material, coating a layer of photoresist onto the layer of metal, curing the layer of photoresist, exposing a desired pattern of transparent conductors through a first mask onto the layer of photoresist, developing the photoresist and simultaneously etching the layer of the conductive material and the layer of metal, exposing a desired pattern of metal conductors through a second mask onto the remaining layer of photoresist, developing the photoresist and etching the layer of metal.
Abstract: An ocular fundus portion analyzer and the method are provided for attaining accurate and quick detection and diagnoses of an ocular fundus defect portion, such as an excavation of an optic disk caused by glaucoma and a macula retinae caused by retinal detachment, by dealing with a large number of single-shot ocular fundus images, for example, taken in physical examinations.
Abstract: The invention discloses differing embodiments of trash management systems and methods for the disposal and/or collection of trash. In one embodiment under the invention, a trash management system may include a mobile cart, a trash vessel connected to the cart, a piston adapted to compact trash within the trash vessel, and a passageway adapted to be connected to a vacuum trash disposal. The piston may be adapted to travel from one position to a second position, and back from the second position to the first position. This movement of the piston may be achieved utilizing multiple passageways which are each adapted to be connected to a vacuum source and a vent source.

Abstract: The invention provides various systems and methods for actively optimizing a credit score and reducing debt. The method includes receiving a credit report including credit accounts, balances, interest rates, and rate types for the credit accounts. The method further receives bank account and payroll information, as well as fixed and variable expense information. The method then generates a financial report based on the received information. Based on the financial report, the method calculates a payment amount, and determines available unassigned income. An allocation of the available income for debt reduction and credit score optimization is received, and the method dynamically allocates the funds to pay the credit accounts, the fixed expenses, and variable expenses such that the customer's debt is reduced and the customer's credit score is improved.

A method of application of the lubricant to a die cast mold as a release agent is disclosed where a die casting machine has a mold with mold halves forming a mold cavity when the mold halves abut against one another, a shot sleeve and a plunger which pushes molten material through the shot sleeve and into the mold cavity. The mold release agent is placed into the shot sleeve remote from the mold cavity, molten material is introduced into the shot sleeve, and the molten material and the mold release agent are forced into the mold cavity by movement of the plunger into the shot sleeve. The silicone compound preferably has a melting point of about 90-220° F., and a molecular weight of about 5500-50,000.
