  • Patent number: 5392603
Abstract: An apparatus for balancing and supporting various loads exerted on the pump cylinder block and associated bevel gear in a radial piston type hydraulic transmission for assuring concentric rotation about the pintle during operation. A hydraulic pressure pad, acting as a hydraulic piston, is located on the outer surface of the pintle at least partially underneath the pump cylinder block hub portion for counteracting the loads exerted against the pump cylinder block and associated bevel gear. A groove circumferentially disposed in the outer surface of the pintle supplies oil to the pressure pad from a bore disposed in the groove and in communication with the high pressure passage of the pintle. The pressure pad is preferably disposed 90.degree. from the input shaft and associated input bevel gear. Additional grooving on the outside circumferential surface of the pintle provides lubrication between the rotating cylinder blocks of the pump and motor, and the pintle.

  • Patent number: 5393486
Abstract: A method of making an orthodontic appliance such as a bracket includes the step of forming a preform of molding material while a portion of the molding material is in contact with a textured portion of a web. The web is subsequently degraded by a thermal or solvent degrading process to leave a witness impression on the underside of the preform. The web optionally serves as a conveyor to move the preform from one processing area to another, and optionally has the appearance of a woven material such that the resulting appliance resembles a mesh base appliance having undercut regions.

  • Patent number: 5393471
Abstract: A pattern is provided in a glaze composition by a series of steps which includes patterning an at least partially cured fusible enameling composition by restructuring it through the removal of material therefrom, refiring the contoured restructure of the enameling composition, and then placing an uncured glaze composition onto the restructured, refined enameling composition. The glaze composition is placed in contact with the pattern in the enameling composition. The glaze composition is then cured. The cured glaze composition and enameling composition are then separated from each other to thereby provide the desired pattern in the glaze composition, without the cost, lack of convertability, and steps of stamping or forming metal to mirror the desired pattern. Also provided is the process for producing the pattern in the fusible enameling composition.

  • Patent number: 5392915
Abstract: A stackable and nestable crate apparatus particularly adapted for the transport and storage of easily breakable products, such as potato chips, or the like, includes an open topped container body of unitary molded plastic construction. A lid extends across the open top of the container body and is mountable thereon at various selected elevations to vertically support an overlying, stacked crate apparatus at a level suitable for the size of the product housed within the supporting crate apparatus. The front and rear walls of the container body are appropriately recessed to permit relative sliding movement between adjacent, stacked crates. The peripheral dimensions of the lid are correlated with respect to those of the interior of the container body to enable ready access to the product within a crate apparatus when slidably extended from the stack and to permit the lid, when rotated, to be readily received within the container body in order to accommodate nesting of empty crates.
