Abstract: An assembly for covering a gutter is disclosed which comprises a mounting member for attachment to a fascia or rafter or the like (10; 100) and a cover member (50) for covering and enclosing a gutter. The mounting member provides upper (22; 120) and lower (34;117) engagement means for engagement with corresponding engagement means (58, 62) defined in ends of the cover member. The engagement means of the mounting member include at least one gap or a space defined between two spaced walls for receiving a generally v-shaped end of the cover and at least one of the walls defines a flange/stop for engaging with the end of the cover for retaining the end of the cover between the walls. The cover will typically be formed from a material such as rolled steel, which may be coated painted or otherwise treated so as to be rust-resistant.
Abstract: A device (10) is disclosed for providing air to a tire which is mounted on a wheel rim which itself is free to rotate about a fixed, that is, non-rotatable axle 22. The device includes a pump (50, 52, 54, 62) which in use rotates with the tire and which is configured to provide, when activated, air under pressure to the tire. There is a pump drive system for activating the pump. The pump drive system comprising a piston rod (56) which is connected to and rotates with the tire and a body (40) which rotates in unison with the rod (56) while the pump is inactive. An electric motor (68) rotates the body (40) with respect to the rod (56) to activate the pump and provide air to the tire. Rotation of the body (40) is superimposed on rotation of the pump with the tire. The device also includes a stator component (26) and coils (30) and magnets (32) for generating, by electrical induction, power for driving the motor using the relative rotation between the second part and the stator component (26).

Abstract: A scanning booth with a user interface. The interface receives user identification or registration data and provides instructional prompts for the user to assume various predefined positions, stances and postures. Image data of each pose is captured using scanning devices in the booth. A three dimensional avatar is generated based on the mapping or morphing of image data to a generic avatar model. Data from the generated model is transmitted to a server where it is stored in a database for later account application in, for example, garment sizing, display or fitting, or health monitoring.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mounting 10 for glass balustrade and methods of installing the same. In particular aspects, the mounting 10 includes a first flange 14 and a second flange 15 that define therebetween a cavity 17 for receiving a glass panel 11. The mounting 10 also includes a clamping member 27 which can be actuated by a threaded member 28 provided in the first flange 14 to frictionally clamp the glass panel 11 within the cavity 17. The mounting 10 includes numerous securing holes for securing to a structure 22 such as a cement pad, a beam, or a piece of timber. Abstract: Disclosed in some forms is a delivery device for delivering a gel or liquid pharmaceutical to a treatment site, the delivery device including a body extending from a delivery tip, the body defining a cavity for retaining a pharmaceutical or a pre-assembled cartridge holding the pharmaceutical; and a driver for mechanically discharging the pharmaceutical from the cartridge to the delivery tip. In some forms the driver is adapted to release a consistent flow of the pharmaceutical. In some forms the delivery device is biased into a release configuration.
Abstract: The invention relates to compositions comprising Pinus pinaster stem bark extract, papain, and Aloe vera extract, and methods of manufacturing same. There are also described methods of treating or preventing a variety of conditions, including treating or preventing elevated blood glucose, pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, autoimmune diseases, reducing or decreasing inflammation, treating or preventing diseases characterised by elevated levels of inflammation, and lowering blood cholesterol, said methods comprising administering an effective amount of a composition according to the invention to a subject in need thereof. Abstract: A transparent nasal splint to be worn externally after a trauma, nasal surgery or nasal injection. The nasal splint has two nasal wall panels bridged together at a spine having an inverted-u shape cross section. The nasal wall panels are inwardly biased to apply compression and to grip onto the nose. The splint is made of semi-rigid material having suitable resiliency to allow moving of the nasal wall panels in an outward direction and to provide for the inward bias of the nasal panels when the splint is in use. The splint may have a nasal spine made of springs(s) or hinge(s) having suitable resiliency to allow moving of the nasal wall panels in an outward direction and to provide for the inward bias of the nasal panels when in use. The splint is also made of suitable material and design which render it being inconspicuous or not visually obvious.
Abstract: A method of targeting bacterially-derived, intact minicells to specific, non-phagocytic mammalian cells employs bispecific ligands to deliver nucleic acids efficiently to the mammalian cells. Bispecific ligands, comprising (i) a first arm that carries specificity for a bacterially-derived minicell surface structure and (ii) a second arm that carries specificity for a non-phagocytic mammalian cell surface receptor are useful for targeting minicells to specific, non-phagocytic mammalian cells and causing endocytosis of minicells by non-phagocytic cells.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a remote operating vehicle (ROV) for use in a subterranean mining process, such as to extract material from beneath a rock layer.
