Abstract: A downhole tool mechanism for applying a driving force, such as a cutter tool for cutting a line captured within the tool, comprises a resiliently compressible member for storing a compressive force; a retaining device for maintaining storage of the compressive force until released; a trigger mechanism for releasing the compressive force when the trigger mechanism is activated. In one form the resiliently compressible member comprises a plurality of concentrically arranged spring washers each having a radial slot therein for receiving a line along the length of the resiliently compressible member. In the cutter form, there is a cutter arranged to cut the line when the trigger mechanism is activated, and the trigger mechanism is activated when the tool receives a shock force to one or both ends.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a sleep apparatus with a base having an asymmetric design, featuring an integrated sleeve such that a pad may be inserted into the sleeve. The sleep apparatus may also have a net that provides for an enclosure. The asymmetric design of the base and the pad that fits into the integrated sleeve provide for a substantially flat surface for a user to lie on while using this sleep apparatus. This substantially flat surface creates a more-uniform pressure against a user's body allowing for the sleep apparatus to be comfortably resided-in for longer periods of time when compared with a traditional hammock. The net of the present invention creates a means for suspending the insect net above a user. The sleep apparatus may be optionally equipped with a storage pouch.
Abstract: An aerodynamic lifting device comprises a chassis (200); a rotor (120) having a rotational axis (R) and a plurality of rotor blades (123) disposed in an annular ring about the rotational axis (R) supported by the chassis (200); and a torque transmission means (126,130,139) to provide tractive force for rotating the rotor (120). The torque transmission means (126,130,139) co-operates with at least one complementary and circumferentially extending drive surface (126a, 126b) of the rotor (120) to transmit tractive force as tangential forces and resultant torque sufficient to drive the rotor (120) and thereby generate lift. The aerodynamic lifting device may be used in airborne craft which may be deployed for waterborne use with a buoyant chassis (200), especially of toroidal shape, for elevating the rotor (120) above a water surface (300) during take off and landing.

Abstract: Representative embodiments provide a composition for printing a liquid or gel separator utilized to separate and space apart first and second conductors or electrodes of an energy storage device, such as a battery or a supercapacitor. A representative composition comprises a plurality of particles, typically having a size (in any dimension) between about 0.5 to about 50 microns; a first, ionic liquid electrolyte; and a polymer or polymeric precursor. In another representative embodiment, the plurality of particles comprise diatoms, diatomaceous frustules, and/or diatomaceous fragments or remains. Another representative embodiment further comprises a second electrolyte different from the first electrolyte; the plurality of particles are comprised of silicate glass; the first and second electrolytes comprise zinc tetrafluoroborate salt in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidalzolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquid; and the polymer comprises polyvinyl alcohol (“PVA”) or polyvinylidene fluoride (“PVFD”).

Abstract: Measurement of inductance values though the use of a charge transfer based measurement system wherein during a first phase, a target inductor is connected to an energy source to allow current through an inductor to increase and in a second phase the inductor is disconnected from the energy source, to allow the current to decrease, and to facilitate transfer of charge to a capacitor. The phases may be repeated, and a count is kept of the number of repetitions.

Abstract: A core for a three-phase transformer is disclosed. The core includes: first, second and third core segments joined together to define three lengthwise extending core legs and first and second core ends disposed generally perpendicularly to the core legs. The core ends are arranged to define a Y shape. Each core segment is formed by nesting together a plurality of magnetic steel strip laminations, the laminations having end sections. The end sections of the laminations overlap such that the ratio of the thickness of the first core end to the thicknesses of the leg thickness is greater that 1:1 and less than 2:1. In one form the ratio of the thickness of the first end to the thicknesses of the leg thickness is 3:2.
Abstract: A mattress core, including an inner spring section; and a crush section overlying side sections and end sections of the inner spring section, wherein the crush section is resiliently compressible so as to reduce an end to end length of the mattress core and/or a side to side width of the mattress core for transportation.
Abstract: Forms of a vehicle loudspeaker system may include: a vehicle interior space defined on an inner side of a front windshield, a vehicle exterior storage space defined on a front side of the vehicle interior space such that a partition is disposed between the vehicle exterior storage space and the vehicle interior space, a cowl box disposed between an upper end of the partition and a lower end of the front windshield, and a loudspeaker including a diaphragm. The loudspeaker may be disposed in the cowl box such that sound pressure generated by the diaphragm is emitted to the vehicle interior space.
