  • Patent number: 9567984
Abstract: A rotary actuator includes a plurality of plate members stacked and coupled together for rotation relative to each other. A biasing member provides a biasing force tending to cause a rotatable end plate member to rotate in a biasing direction relative to a non-rotatable end plate member. Each plate member has a plurality of notches at its periphery. A SMA wire extends through the plurality of notches so that as the SMA wire is heated, the SMA wire rotates each rotatable plate member from a cold position in a direction opposite the biasing direction to a hot position. As the SMA wire cools, the biasing member rotates each rotatable plate member in the biasing direction from the hot position and returns each rotatable plate member to the cold position.

  • Patent number: 8210384
Abstract: Disclosed is a closure cap (1) comprising a exterior marginal web (5), a shielding section (4) that protrudes past the marginal web (5), and a hot-melt adhesive (11) which is arranged in the area of the shielding section (4) and is deformable in a plastic manner when heated above a softening temperature. A number of gripping abutment elements (7) are embodied on the marginal web (5) while a joint zone (3) having a reduced flexural rigidity is configured between the marginal web (5) and the shielding section (4). The distance between the abutment elements (7) and the bottom side of the hot-melt adhesive, which faces the marginal web (5), is smaller than the thickness of the material of a basic part (13) in the area of the opening such that an initial tension is created in the joint zone (3) when the closure cap (1) is inserted into the opening, resulting in a simple self-acting closing process after heating the hot-melt adhesive (11).

  • Patent number: 7651138
Abstract: A coupling for a fluid conducting system comprises an elongated coupling part (1) and a locking part (20), which can be displaced in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and which can be mounted on the coupling part (1) in a manner that enables it to slide. The guiding of the locking part (20) ensues via detent elements (24, 25) that engage inside guide recesses (13) of the coupling part (1). The locking part (20) can be fixed in a releasing position or in a locking position by the engagement of detent projections (26, 27) inside releasing recesses (18, 19) or inside locking recesses (16, 17). This enables a relatively problem-free operating of the coupling during opening and closing.

  • Publication number: 20090172920
Abstract: An apparatus for connecting two sections (8, 9) of at least one elongate object in an adjustable and detachable manner has a receiving housing (1), has two blocking parts (10, 11) which are mounted in the receiving housing (1) so as to be moveable relative to one another and are arranged such that, in an engagement position, they engage so as to clamp in each case one section, and has guide ducts (3, 4) for defined guidance of the sections (8, 9) in the receiving housing (1). The guide ducts (3, 4) are arranged such that they are aligned with one another axially, while the blocking parts (10, 11) are arranged on the same side of the guide ducts (3, 4). This results in a design which, while providing a high degree of locking action, is very simple and is therefore cost-effective to produce.
