Abstract: A push-pull chain and actuator. The push-pull chain has lateral flexibility in two opposite directions. The actuator in which the chain is used can be mounted with either side of the chain up with substantially equally lateral flexing capacity. The push-pull chain bends sidewards in both opposing directions without being forced to assume a straight-line configuration.
Abstract: A coated article includes a substrate having on its surface a coating that includes a polymer selected from the group consisting of hydroxypropylcellulose, poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and mixtures of these, a surfactant, colloidal silica, and a crosslinker selected from the group consisting of water-soluble titanium salts and water-soluble or water-dispersible organic crosslinkers. The coating may be formed by applying a dispersion of the coating composition in a diluent to the substrate and subsequently drying the coated substrate to evaporate the diluent.

Abstract: A method for conducting a transaction is disclosed. The method includes using a first portable electronic device, and directly transmitting a request for payment to a second portable electronic device through a wireless link. Then, the second portable electronic device transmits an approval of the request for payment to the first portable electronic device. One of the first and the second portable electronic devices then sends the request for payment to a payment hub service. The payment hub service then facilitates the transfer of funds from a payer institution to a payee institution to complete the transaction.

Abstract: A body implantable penile prosthetic assembly includes a pump and a release mechanism. The pump is connectable to a pressure reservoir and a penile implant, where the pressure reservoir contains a pressurized liquid at a first pressure when implanted. The release mechanism is connectable between the pressure reservoir and the penile implant and is configured to release the pressurized liquid from the pressure reservoir to inflate the penile implant to a second pressure that is less than the first pressure. The pump is operable to transfer the pressurized liquid from the penile implant to the pressure reservoir to deflate the penile implant, and pressurize the pressurized liquid in the pressure reservoir from the second pressure to at least the first pressure.
Abstract: The present subject matter includes a control method to position a solenoid valve using dithering. The control method provides the steps of: determining a target current across the solenoid valve which is expressed in digital form with a given minimum quantization interval, adding a dithering square wave to the target current, controlling the voltage applied to the solenoid valve to cause the current across the solenoid valve to track the target current added to the dithering square wave, jiggling the dithering square wave with a frequency which is a sub-multiple with respect to the maximum variation frequency of the current across the solenoid valve, and varying the amplitude of the dithering square wave.

An illumination light beam is provided, that passes through a cross-section of the anterior chamber of the eye to capture an image on the corneal vertex.
Abstract: In a method of analyzing an input video sequence, pixels of synthesized images of an output video sequence are associated with respective directions of regularity belonging to a predefined set of directions. A first subset of candidate directions is determined from the predefined set of directions for a region of a first image of the output sequence. For a corresponding region of a second synthesized image of the output sequence following the first image, a second subset of candidate directions is determined from the predefined set of directions, based on images of the input sequence and the first subset of candidate directions. The directions of regularity for pixels of this region of the second synthesized image are detected from the second subset of candidate directions. The recursive determination of the subsets of candidate directions provides a sparse geometry for efficiently analyzing the video sequence.

Abstract: The present invention is related to methods, apparatuses, systems and computer software for determining an amount of physical resources for downlink transmission, and allocating uplink physical resources for transmission of data-non-associated control signaling based at least on the amount of physical resources for downlink transmission. The amount of physical resources for downlink transmission comprises an amount of downlink control signaling. The present invention further relates to a framework for mapping the dedicated uplink control channels directly to single physical resource blocks. The framework is able to efficiently shift physical resources to and from the uplink control channel for ACK/NACK reports, in a data-non-associated control signaling scheme and on a per subframe basis. The present invention is also concerned with scheduler, for example an eNodeB scheduler, which uses its scheduling history and knowledge of user equipment capabilities to increase utilization of uplink resources.
