  • Patent number: 5414929
Abstract: A method for producing a rotor of a turbine, particularly a steam turbine, from individual rotor parts being welded together to make a unit, includes assembling parts of a rotor required for a given turbine in a modular system having supply steam shaft ends, single rotor disks, double rotor disks, exhaust steam shaft ends and optionally condensation-end-stage drums, for producing various rotor variants. The parts of the rotor are produced at parallel times according to orders and/or taken from stock. Still required remachining of the assembled rotor during production of the parts, especially machining grooves in final form for receiving rotor blade roots in the remachining step, is minimized. The parts are joined together with low warping with a beam of high power density, preferably an electron beam. Required rotor blades are selected and the rotor disks are equipped with the blades before or after the parts are joined together. The rotor put together from the individual parts is machined in final form.

  • Patent number: 5278493
Abstract: In multimeters for the selective measurement of different measurable variables having test signals that are detected by the multimeter through the use of various input circuits assigned to respective measurable variables, an input circuit can be connected which is not suitable for an input variable set at a measurement range switch. In order to draw the attention of the operator at least to an error that the operator is responsible for, at least one auxiliary circuit is provided and fed through the measurement range switch in such a manner that a fixed assignment to a particular input circuit and consequently to a particular measurable variable results. The assignment is dependent on a switch position. Inserted in the auxiliary circuit is at least one function generator which triggers a function or a combination of a plurality of functions upon actuation, which is preferably achieved by closing the auxiliary circuit. This counteracts the operating error in switching the measurable variable.

  • Patent number: 5272019
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrochemical storage cell based on sodium and sulphur. A disadvantage of the known storage cells of this type is the fact that if assembled to form batteries, failures of individual storage cells result in fairly large capacity losses of the battery. These disadvantages are avoided by fixing the quantitative ratio of sulphur to sodium as a function of the rated capacity of the storage cell in such a way that the voltage at the end of the rated discharge has a specified value and the sodium polysulphide which forms during the discharge has a specified composition.
