  • Publication number: 20080125909
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for determining of spraying parameters for controlling a painting appliance which uses spraying means and is moved over an area to be painted, in particular a robot with a painting application. A known spraying map is produced, using known spraying parameters and paint amount, for a predetermined movement speed of the painting appliance, and a paint amount is matched to a new movement speed in comparison to the predetermined movement speed. Furthermore, new spraying parameters are calculated for the adapted paint amount, while maintaining a spraying map which is similar to the known spraying map.

  • Publication number: 20080121290
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and an arrangement for diagnosis of a final control element, which is actuated by a pneumatically operated actuating mechanism under the control of a control device, and which emits acoustic signals during conventional use. It is proposed to detect acoustic signals fed back into the pneumatic system of the actuating mechanism, and to derive from them the status data of the final control element. For this purpose, an acoustic sensor is arranged in the pneumatic-fluid supply line of the actuating mechanism, with the acoustic sensor being electrically connected to an analysis device. A pressure sensor is used as the acoustic sensor.

  • Patent number: 7373841
Abstract: The invention concerns a Coriolis mass flowmeter comprising at least one conduit (9) traversed by the mass, which produces mechanical vibrations under the effect of an excitation unit (8) and acts as an oscillating element, whereof the oscillating behaviour which varies based on the mass flow rate is sensed by at least one sensor (15, 16) to determine the mass flow. The invention aims at determining the degree of wear of the conduit (9). Therefor, the excitation unit (8) applies a single excitation pulse to the conduit (9), whereof the oscillatory response is sensed by the sensor (15; 16). The invention is characterized in that an evaluating unit (10) arranged downstream calculates the initial dampening constant recorded when the conduit (9) was new.

  • Publication number: 20080104294
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for operating a bus system, in which a plurality of subscribers communicate with one another over the same bus line and all subscribers are assigned a subscriber address from a limited address set. To avoid address conflicts, it is suggested that by each subscriber newly added to an existing bus system, the bus traffic will be monitored recursively before the first send access to the bus with the current subscriber address, and if its own subscriber address is detected in the bus traffic the subscriber's own address is changed by a predefinable offset.

  • Patent number: 7358744
Abstract: The invention relates to a two-wire transducer in automation engineering that outputs a measurement signal as an injected current. For the method to test the serviceability, it is proposed to increase the DC loop current (IS), independently of the measured value, from the minimum value towards the maximum value (ISM), and to measure the input voltage (UE) across the internal resistance of the transducer in the process, and to compare it with a definable threshold value (UES) that is greater than the minimum input voltage (UEM) required to maintain serviceability. If the input voltage (UE) falls below the threshold value (UES) before the DC loop current (IS) has reached its maximum value (ISM), the DC loop current (IS) is reduced until the input voltage (UE) reaches at least the definable threshold value (UES), and the error is signaled.
