  • Patent number: 10115068
Abstract: A device may receive an indication that a product has arrived at a destination. The product may have been shipped by an entity to the destination. The device may perform an analysis on the product to determine an attribute of the product. The device may perform a comparison of information identifying the attribute of the product and information included in an encrypted record, for the product, of a blockchain, to verify the attribute of the product. The information included in the encrypted record may be related to attributes of the product. The attributes of the product may have been determined by the entity that shipped the product to the destination. The device may determine whether the attribute of the product is verified based on performing the comparison. The device may perform an action based on determining whether the attribute of the product is verified.

  • Publication number: 20180307868
Abstract: A data storage layer provides enhanced data security. In one implementation, the data storage layer allows selective encryption of specific parts of data blocks, with decryption restricted to pre-determined entities. The selective encryption may be applied to parts of data blocks that are stored in blockchains, for instance, to provide fine grained control over which entities with access to the blockchain can decrypt and use the parts of the data blocks with the enhanced security.

  • Patent number: 10110576
Abstract: A system includes circuitry for rewriting blockchains in a non-tamper-evident or tamper-evident operation using a key secret held in portions by multiple individually untrusted parties. The blockchains may include a series of blocks secured by integrity codes that may prevent non-tamper-evident rewrites by non-trusted parties that are not in possession of the key secret or individually-untrusted parties in possession of only a portion of the key secret. In some cases, multiple individually-untrusted parties may combine their portions into the key secret. As a group, the multiple individually-untrusted parties may perform non-tamper-evident operation with respect to at least one integrity code within the blockchain.

  • Patent number: 10110425
Abstract: The differentiated service-based graceful degradation layer (DSGDL) allows cloud-based architectures to operate through and recover from periods of limited capability. The DSGDL protects and continues serving higher priority requests with the best possible response even as the underlying cloud-based services deteriorate. The DSGDL offloads lower priority requests to lower-grade secondary capability that can be dynamically provisioned in order to reserve the best capability for maintaining high priority service (e.g., by re-directing lower priority requests to a slightly out-of-date cached dataset, and reserve the primary consistent database for higher priority requests). The DSGDL 1) implements an overlay network over existing cloud services to route and enforce priority requests, and 2) provisions on-demand computing nodes and sites to provide secondary capability for service requests as needed.

  • Patent number: 10102264
Abstract: The distributed computing backup and recovery (DCBR) system and method provide backup and recovery for distributed computing models (e.g., NoSQL). The DCBR system extends the protections from server node-level failure and introduces persistence in time so that the evolving data set may be stored and recovered to a past point in time. The DCBR system, instead of performing backup and recovery for an entire dataset, may be configured to apply to a subset of data. Instead of keeping or recovering snapshots of the entire dataset which requires the entire cluster, the DCBR system identifies the particular nodes and/or archive files where the dataset resides so that backup or recovery may be done with a much smaller number of nodes.

  • Patent number: 10102281
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, are described that enable clustering and evaluation of data. A data set is identified for which to evaluate cluster solutions, the data set including a plurality of records each including a plurality of attributes. Different attributes are identified, including target driver attributes, cluster candidate attributes, and profile attributes. One or more clustering algorithms are identified and applied to the data set to generate cluster solutions. Each cluster solution groups records in the data set into different clusters based on the cluster candidate attributes. A score is calculated for each cluster solution based at least on the target driver attributes, the cluster candidate attributes, and the profile attributes. A user interface is generated for presentation to a user showing the generated cluster solution organized according to the calculated score for each cluster solution.

  • Publication number: 20180284709
Abstract: An automation optimization engine is disclosed that provides a closed loop nodal analysis on a process performance tree. By analyzing an observed process and identifying automatable tasks from non-automatable tasks from the observed process, the automation optimization engine then applies machine learning techniques to generate a recommendation report identifying steps for implementing in the observed process to convert the non-automatable tasks into automatable tasks. Optimization is thus achieved to close the loop to further automate the observed process.
