Abstract: A method, system and graphical user interface for enabling a user to access enterprise data and interact with enterprise applications generating the enterprise data using a portable electronic device is disclosed. A native application for a portable electronic device enables a user of the portable electronic device to initiate or interact with one or more enterprise applications. Each of the enterprise applications is executed remotely on a system in communication with the portable electronic device, where the portable electronic device may communicate data to the remote system and display data received from the remote system. Processing resources and storage resources of the remote system may be utilized to execute the enterprise application, thereby enabling a user to initiate or interact with a computationally-intensive enterprise application using a portable electronic device.

Abstract: A method and computing devices are provided for determining whether an advertisement aired in accordance with predefined airing specifications. A plurality of advertisement identification markers may be inserted into an advertisement by a first computing device. The plurality of advertisement identification markers may be inserted between the start and end of the advertisement. A second computing device may receive a broadcast stream including the advertisement having the plurality of advertisement identification markers. Airing parameters of the advertisement may be determined by the second computing device based on the advertisement identification markers. The airing parameters of the advertisement may be compared with predefined airing specifications corresponding to the advertisement. Auditing data may be generated that describes whether or not the advertisement aired in accordance with the predefined airing specifications.

Abstract: Embodiments of the claimed subject matter are directed to methods and a system that allows an application comprising a single code set under the COBOL Programming Language to execute in multiple platforms on the same multi-platform system (such as a mainframe). In one embodiment, a single code set is pre-compiled to determine specific portions of the code set compatible with the host (or prospective) platform. Once the code set has been pre-compiled to determine compatible portions, those portions may be compiled and executed in the host platform. According to these embodiments, an application may be executed from a single code set that is compatible with multiple platforms, thereby potentially reducing the complexity of developing the application for multiple platforms.

Abstract: The workload profiler and performance interference (WPPI) system uses a test suite of recognized workloads, a resource estimation profiler and influence matrix to characterize un-profiled workloads, and affiliation rules to identify optimal and sub-optimal workload assignments to achieve consumer Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees and/or provider revenue goals. The WPPI system uses a performance interference model to forecast the performance impact to workloads of various consolidation schemes usable to achieve cloud provider and/or cloud consumer goals, and uses the test suite of recognized workloads, the resource estimation profiler and influence matrix, affiliation rules, and performance interference model to perform modeling to determine the initial assignment selections and consolidation strategy to use to deploy the workloads.

Abstract: A code evaluation tool greatly reduces time, cost, and other resource expenditures needed to validate that an application implements desired functionality. The tool is a search, navigation and visualization tool that accepts high-level processing concepts as inputs to identify, rank, and return the code of a recommended application. A software developer may use the tool to validate that functional requirements are met by the recommended application. The tool provides an efficient way to improve the evaluation of application logic to validate that the application meets specified functional requirement and implements the desired high-level processing concepts.

Abstract: A direct connectivity system provides automated healthcare administrative transaction submission, including claim submission, eligibility verification and claim status, from healthcare service providers directly to payers. The direct connectivity system bypasses transaction processing intermediaries such as clearinghouses by directly connecting providers to payers in a many to many manner. Existing single payer web portals are supplanted by a many to many network that has a common interface across multiple payers. The direct connectivity system may receive responses directly from payers and may prepare or process the responses for a practice management program so that the service provider receives rapid feedback on the administrative transaction submission. The direct connectivity system may automatically analyze transaction file attributes to determine one or more of many payers to which to send a transaction file, from one of many providers.

Abstract: Biometric authentication technology, in which biometric data is maintained for a group of people. The biometric data includes sorted similarity scores, where each of the sorted similarity scores is computed to represent similarity between a corresponding biometric image and a reference image. A biometric verification system accesses a biometric image of at least a portion of a person, accesses the reference image, and computes a similarity score that represents similarity between the accessed biometric image and the reference image. The biometric verification system searches the sorted similarity scores included in the biometric data using the computed similarity score and outputs a result based on the searching.

Abstract: A system is described for relative positioning of tags in a real time locating system. The system may include a memory and a processor in communication with the memory. The memory may store layout information for a work area which includes architectural and infrastructure attributes. The processor may determine a number of access points to position in the work area. The processor may determine a placement of a tag in the work area based on readings gathered by the access points. The processor may further determine a level of accuracy for a location of the tag within the work area. The processor may provide a graphical representation of the positioning of the access points in the work area, as well as an indication of the accuracy of the tag within the work area.

Abstract: In an aspect, the present application is directed to managing traffic in a network. A capacity request is received, wherein the capacity request comprises a request for capacity on the network. The capacity request is evaluated to determine whether the capacity requested by the capacity request in view of a measure of currently in-use network capacity on the network would exceed a threshold level. If the threshold level would not be exceeded, the capacity request is fulfilled so that a corresponding network request can be granted for transmission over the network; and if the threshold level would be exceeded, retrieving and analyzing real-time capacity data to determine an available network capacity of the network to be compared to the capacity requested in the capacity request.

The design assistant tool may apply heuristic rules to the processed requirement statements and/or the processed use cases to determine various components of a functional design diagram. The design assistant tool may generate a technical design module based on the functional design diagram. The design assistant tool may allow various aspects of the functional design diagram to be modified to generate the technical design diagram.

Abstract: An enhanced network adapter framework, in which parameters are stored in a configuration table, the parameters being customized for a network and an application. A network adapter customized for the network and the application is instantiated based on invoking a generic network adapter which externally references the configuration table, and communication between the application and the network is effected using the instantiated network adapter.

Abstract: A generative model is used to develop at least one topic model and at least one sentiment model for a body of text. The at least one topic model is displayed such that, in response, a user may provide user input indicating modifications to the at least one topic model. Based on the received user input, the generative model is used to provide at least one updated topic model and at least one updated sentiment model based on the user input. Thereafter, the at least one updated topic model may again be displayed in order to solicit further user input, which further input is then used to once again update the models. The at least one updated topic model and the at least one updated sentiment model may be employed to analyze target text in order to identify topics and associated sentiments therein.

Abstract: To entities that are likely to engage in a behavior, a behavior discrimination threshold for each of a plurality of behavior variables is determined. Variable values for each entity of a plurality of target entities and for each of the behavior variables are compared to the relevant behavior discrimination threshold to provide identifying variables for each entity. An index value is determined for each of the plurality of target entities based on the identifying variables for that entity. An index threshold is determined such that those entities of the target entities having index values that meet or exceed the index threshold are likely to exhibit or engage in the behavior more frequently than a random sampling of the plurality of training entities. Actions designed to affect the likelihood that the resulting targeted entities will engage in the behavior may be directed to the targeted entities.

Abstract: Contextual graph matching based anomaly detection may include evaluating computer-generated log file data to create a master directed graph that specifies known events and transitions between the known events. The master directed graph may be processed to determine a plurality of decomposed master graph walks. Incoming computer-generated log file data may be evaluated to create an incoming directed graph that specifies unknown events and transitions between the unknown events. The incoming directed graph may be processed to determine a decomposed incoming walk. Overlap, distance difference, and correlation scores may be determined for each walk pair of a plurality of walk pairs including each of the plurality of decomposed master graph walks and the decomposed incoming walk. One of the decomposed master graph walks may be selected based on the overlap score, the difference score, and the correlation score, to detect an anomaly.

Abstract: A system is described for managing a collaborative environment. The system may include a memory, an interface, and a processor. The memory may store items provided by users in a collaborative environment. Each item may be related to at least one other item. The processor may identify the collaborative environment and may receive a request from a user to flag an item in the collaborative environment. The request may include a reason for flagging the item and a description of the reason. The processor may determine a priority level of a plurality of priority levels for handling the item based at least on the reason. Each priority level may be associated with an action to be performed on the item. The processor may perform the action associated with the determined priority level.

Abstract: A system for communication network management of a utility grid includes a database configured to store a grid information data set, where the grid information data set includes network device information for the utility grid and a network management system executable by a processor to: receive an event message from one or more network devices indicative of one or more failures in a communication network of the utility grid; retrieve the grid information data set; identify one or more network device associated with the one or more failures based on the grid information data set; transmit a request for a response to the identified one or more network devices; determine a response pattern based on responses from the identified one or more network devices in order to identify a cause of the failure based on the response pattern.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) tool analysis system helps determine whether to purchase or license automated testing tools. The system provides guidance, e.g., to test managers, for making decisions on expenditures for the automated test tools. As a result, the test managers need not make purchasing decisions ad hoc, based on their own personal experience and perceived benefits of implementing a tool based automatic testing approach versus a manual testing approach.

Abstract: A code search tool greatly reduces time, cost, and other resource expenditures associated with implementing a new application. The tool is a search, navigation and visualization tool that accepts high-level processing concepts as inputs to identify, rank, and return the code of relevant existing applications. Abstract: A system for experimentation includes an experiment engine which can define an experiment relating to various treatments for a set of content elements. The experiment engine conducts the experiment by delivering treatments to control groups over the network. The selection of the treatments to deliver is optimized to provide treatments having a greater likelihood of satisfying an objective of the experiment.
