Abstract: A data interface efficiently transports, manages, and provides data transfer. The data transfer may happen between a data storage layer and a presentation layer, as examples. The presentation layers may be graphical user interfaces that display or report complex data sets, with the data storage layer providing the source data for the presentation layers. The data interface implements a data link layer that efficiently caches, stores, and locates query results, while simultaneously handling security. The data link layer may include load balancing, efficient cache refresh, and other features.

Abstract: A system is described for analyzing user activity in a collaborative environment. The system may include a memory, an interface, and a processor. The memory may store a plurality of data items. Each data item may be related to at least one other data item. The processor may receive a request to alert the user when an action is performed on a selected data item. The processor may also receive a relation threshold identifying at least one other data item related to the selected data item. The processor may detect the action being performed on the data item identified by the relation threshold. The processor may transform data describing the action into an alert. The alert may include the data describing the action, the data item, and a description of the relationship between the data items. The processor may provide the alert to the user via the device.

Abstract: A system is described for providing roadmaps for building proficiencies in skill areas. The system may include a memory, interface, and processor. The memory may store skill area and skill level identifiers, and associated job experience data items describing tasks of a user within the skill area and skill level, formal learning data items describing learning activities of a user within the skill area and skill level, and collaborative data items describing collaborative roles of a user within the skill area and skill level. The processor may receive the skill area and skill level identifiers. The processor may retrieve the job experience, formal learning and collaborative data items associated with the skill area and the skill level identifiers. The processor may transform the data items into a roadmap describing the job experience, formal learning and collaborative data items recommended to reach the skill level, and provide the roadmap to the user.

Abstract: A telecommunications service provider architecture integrates multiple architectures which include prepaid and post-paid processing systems. The convergent enhanced architecture provides performance, scalability, and efficiency consistent with a prepaid architecture and flexibility and configurability consistent with a post-paid system. The convergent architecture provides messaging interfaces between a telecommunications support architecture and a prepaid architecture or a combined rating and billing architecture. The messaging interfaces support message transfer between the processing systems in the architectures to provide information exchange including billing exchanges, rating exchanges, and customer management exchanges.

Abstract: A system and method for managing churn among the customers of a business is provided. The system and method provide for an analysis of the causes of customer churn and identifies customers who are most likely to churn in the future. Identifying likely churners allows appropriate steps to be taken to prevent customers who are likely to churn from actually churning. The system included a dedicated data mart, a population architecture, a data manipulation module, a data mining tool and an end user access module for accessing results and preparing preconfigured reports. The method includes adopting an appropriate definition of churn, analyzing historical customer to identify significant trends and variables, preparing data for data mining, training a prediction model, verifying the results, deploying the model, defining retention targets, and identifying the most responsive targets.

Abstract: A system for characterizing malicious activity in an intelligent utility grid system includes a system storage in which to store a database including a plurality of rules. A collector is operable to collect and store in the system storage information-technology (IT) data including IT-related activity from the intelligent grid system. A complex event processing (CEP) bus is operable to receive non-IT data including location-specific event data from a plurality of electronic sources, the CEP bus further operable to disregard the non-IT data failing to meet a predetermined level of relevance to one of a plurality of risk-related events. A processor is operable to apply the plurality of rules to the relevant non-IT data to: associate an undesired event with reference to the IT-related activity; and determine a probability that the undesired event is indicative of malicious activity. The processor further applies a risk characterization to the undesired event based on the probability and the IT-related activity.

Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for account and customer creation in an online banking model. An application is received from a customer. The application includes information relating to the user and also documentation relating to the user. A first computer is utilized to create a profile for the customer based on the application received from the customer. The first computer is also utilized to create an account for the customer. Information relating to the created profile and account is transmitted from the first computer to a second computer where a notification is generated. The notification indicates that the account has been created. The notification is transmitted from the second computer to the customer utilizing a network.

Abstract: A method for social network collaboration addresses the need for efficient and effective way of obtaining information. The method obtains aggregated information from members of a social network collaborating in response to a source collaboration message. The method provides for a demand-driven collaborated information production such that the information is significantly more relevant and accurate.

Abstract: A method and system for using individualized customer models when operating a retail establishment is provided. The individualized customer models may be generated using statistical analysis of transaction data for the customer, thereby generating sub-models and attributes tailored to customer. The individualized customer models may be used in any aspect of a retail establishment's operations, ranging from supply chain management issues, inventory control, promotion planning (such as selecting parameters for a promotion or simulating results of a promotion), to customer interaction (such as providing a shopping list or providing individualized promotions).

Abstract: An asset management system (AMS) facilitates management of electronic assets of a software service delivery organization. The AMS may facilitate classification of the electronic assets according to delivery phases in which each electronic asset is usable and accordingly enables users to identify and download the suitable assets usable in a desired delivery phase. The AMS also may receive from the users, usage data for (representing an extent of use of) the downloaded electronic assets and generate a set of utilization characteristics of the electronic asset based on the usage data. In addition, the AMS may facilitate classification of the assets according to a set of technology areas in which each electronic asset is applicable. On identifying that a new user is expected to operate in a specific technology area, the AMS may determine and provide suitable assets applicable to the specific technology area.

Abstract: A transformation framework accesses user story information inputted by a user into a pre-defined template designed to receive a user story and parses the accessed user story information to identify key pieces of the user story. The transformation framework identifies process components needed to implement the software system requirement defined by the user story and generates a process language model for each of the identified process components. The transformation framework maps the key pieces parsed from the user story to the generated process language models to define process language statements that correspond to the software system requirement defined by the user story.

Abstract: This document describes a computer-implemented method for guiding a user through a travel check-in procedure. The method includes receiving passenger identification information associated with a passenger checking in for a travel segment, and determining a check-in status of the passenger using the passenger identification information. The method also includes generating a check-in workflow based on the check-in status of the passenger. The method further includes providing for display on a user interface a current step in the check-in workflow, the current step corresponding to a current action in the check-in workflow to be completed by a user, and upon request of the user to continue to a next step in the workflow, providing for display on the user interface the next step in the check-in workflow, the next step corresponding to a next action in the check-in workflow to be completed by the user.

Abstract: A plurality of icons are presented via a graphical user interface, each of the icons representative of a template component that incorporates component-specific constraints representative of best practices in integration software development projects. Configuration information in response to configuration prompts related to a selected icon is received. In order to enforce best practices on the integration software development project, the configuration information may be compared with the component-specific constraints such that an error indication is displayed via the graphical user interface whenever the configuration information does not compare favorably with the component-specific constraints. Receipt of the selection information also causes an instance of the template component corresponding to the icon to be created, with the resulting instantiated component configured according to the configuration information.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for managing and transmitting pedigree information. The methods and systems allow a user to access a pedigree information portal to submit and transmit pedigree data to a recipient of the physical drug product. The method provides security and reliability in relaying the drug history and data. In addition, methods and systems are provided for associating the electronically transmitted pedigree information to the physical drug product. A user may thus retrieve and review pedigree information using, for example, one or more barcodes representing a sender identifier and recipient identifier.

Abstract: A loan portfolio manager system is provided to predict and prioritize loans at risk of default and foreclosure. The loan portfolio manager system may analyze the loans at risk to determine which of the loans are at risk and also candidates for modification. The loan portfolio manager system may generate recommended modification solutions for those at risk loans by applying configurable criteria and data analytics. The loan portfolio manager system may monitor and report on the health of loan portfolios, borrowers, and on success of loan modifications. The loan portfolio manager system may facilitate loan modification business process outsourcing through campaign management and buyer contact/interaction capabilities.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention solve the technical problem of identifying, collecting, and managing rules that improve poor quality data on enterprise initiatives ranging from data governance to business intelligence. In a specific embodiment of the present invention, a method is provided for producing data quality rules for a data set. A set of candidate conditional functional dependencies are generated comprised of candidate seeds of attributes that are within a certain degree of relatedness in the ontology of the data set. The candidate conditional functional dependencies are then applied to the data refined until they reach a quiescent state where they have not been refined even though the data they have been applied to has been stable. The resulting refined candidate conditional functional dependencies are the data enhancement rules for the data set and other related data sets.

Abstract: A dynamic profiling system (DPS) provides dynamic access session configuration for telecommunications subscribers, and provides subscriber session information to application platforms. The DPS configuration adapts to meet the needs of any combination of user connection requests, access channel devices, and access channels used to communicate connection requests. The DPS provides an aggregated view of user session information to efficiently and effectively provide services to subscribers. As the many different access channels (e.g., WiFi™ channels, Ethernet™ channels, and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) channels continue to grow through which a subscriber connects to services, the dynamic profiling system also eliminates the inefficient proliferation of custom interfaces between the many support systems and applications that need access to subscriber profile and session configuration information. The DPS provides a universal and personalized access to telecommunications services.

Abstract: A counterfeit detection system may include a memory storing a module comprising machine readable instructions to determine a X-identification (XID) associated with a product. The XID may include an unencrypted component and/or an encrypted component associated with a parameter associated with the product. The machine readable instructions may further include selecting one or more validation rules, from a plurality of validation rules, to select one or more validation techniques from a plurality of validation techniques used to determine an authenticity of the product. The machine readable instructions may further include using the one or more selected validation techniques to determine the authenticity of the product based on the XID associated with the product. The counterfeit detection system may include a processor to implement the module.

Abstract: The present application relates to a computer-implemented method, system, and computer program product for telecommunications rating. The computer-implemented method for telecommunications rating may comprise: receiving an event from a source system for a service, wherein the event is generated by a user; transforming the event into a normalized event by determining event characteristics comprising determining a guiding point identifier to identify a guiding point associated with the user; by using the guiding point identifier, retrieving from the guiding point a list of products operable to guide the normalized event; rating the normalized event by calculating and aggregating costs according to the list of products; and posting the costs by updating at least one balance associated with the user, the guiding point, and/or the service.

Abstract: A distribution plan that indicates how to encode and distribute backup data across multiple data centres may be generated. The distribution plan may be generated such that one or more characteristics of the distribution plan, such as costs, are optimized while constraints on the plan, such as protection level, recovery point objective (RPO), and recovery time objective (RTO) are satisfied. The protection level may indicate the number of the data centres that are to remain available such that the backup data is recoverable from encoded fragments of the backup data stored in the data centres that remain available.
