Abstract: A projection system includes a total reflection element, an image reader, an analysis system and a server device. The image reader reads a projective image guided by the optical projection device and the total reflection element and outputs a read signal. The analysis system analyzes the read image by an evaluation function and determines the clearest image on the projective plane so as to output an adjustment signal. The server device automatically performs the focal adjustment to the optical projection device based on the adjustment signal.

  • Patent number: 6394576
Abstract: A printing apparatus has an ink jet print head that performs printing passes on a jetting position of the printing area. The ink jet print head has nozzles, each nozzle prints ink spots on a jetting position of the printing area. The ink jet print head performs printing according to a predetermined printing method. The predetermined printing method distributes all ink spots to be printed on the jetting position of the printing area to the printing passes to make the number of ink spots printed on the jetting position in each print pass approximately equal.

  • Patent number: 6392642
Abstract: The present invention provides a display device for displaying video frame signals transmitted from a computer. When the display device receives the video frame signals, it detects the number of horizontal scanning lines first, and then compares the number with a sampling reference table to obtain a target sampling number. If the number of pixel clocks generated by a phase locked loop does not match the target sampling number, the display device will adjust the frequency of the phase locked loop until the number of pixel clocks matches the target sampling number so that the display device can display video pictures correctly.

  • Publication number: 20020057318
Abstract: A pressure-compensation cartridge for inkjet printers, which is able to adjust the backpressure inside the cartridge within a proper range to prevent ink leakage from the print head or failure caused by ink dropping problems. The cartridge is a sealed container with an air duct on the top and a print head on the bottom. The pressure-compensation device, located inside the cartridge, includes an ink bag, a tension spring, and a motion element. The ink bag accommodates a substantial amount of ink for the print function of the print head and is made of a soft material. The tension spring has a first end engaged with the upper end of the ink bag and a second end engaged with the motion element. The resilience of the tension spring restrains the contraction of the ink bag caused by the running off of the ink so as to maintain a stable backpressure inside the ink bag, which prevents ink leakage or ink dropping problems through the print head of the cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20020051240
Abstract: The present invention provides a dual transmissive/reflective image scanning apparatus for improving the scanning quality of reflective originals. The present invention includes a slot for selectively accommodating a tray of a first type or a tray of a second type. For reflective scanning, the tray of the first type, which includes a means of transparent material such as glass, is inserted within the slot. For transmissive scanning, the tray of the second type without a means of transparent material may be selectively inserted within the slot. As scanning transparent originals, a light source from the original cover passes directly thought the transparent originals and thus it reduces obstruction that may be caused by a transparent material. Furthermore, either the tray of the first type or the tray of the second type is allowed to be withdrawn from the housing for cleaning greasy dirt or dust deposited on the glass or installing various holders for transparent originals.

  • Patent number: 6371593
Abstract: A printer has a print path, a code strip disposed in parallel along the print path, a sensor for sensing the code strip, a driving system for moving the sensor along the code strip, a timer, a memory and a position signal generator. The code strip has embedded position information, which the sensor reads. The sensor generates a first or a second code signal depending upon the position of the sensor on the code strip. The timer generates clock signals at a rate that corresponds to an expected rate of change of the first and second signals from the sensor when the driving system moves the sensor along the code strip. The memory is used to hold the locations of defective areas on the code strip. The position signal generator uses the sensor to generate a position signal when the sensor is not reading within any of the defective areas on the code strip, and uses the clock signals from the timer to generate the position signal when the sensor is moving within any of the defective areas on the code strip.

  • Patent number: 6352256
Abstract: A media feeding system has a pick arm with a pick roller, a media tray, a media restrainer, a motor and a drive train. The pick arm is rotatably installed above the media tray so that it can lift the pick roller away from the media tray, and lower it onto the media tray. The media restrainer can be in an up or a down position. When in the up position, it prevents media from moving out of the media tray. When in the down position, media can move out of the media tray past the media restrainer. The drive train delivers torque from the motor to the pick arm, pick roller and media restrainer. The motor can operate in two directions. When operating in the first direction, the media restrainer moves into the down position, the pick roller lowers onto stacked media and pushes a sheet out of the media tray past the media restrainer. When the motor operates in the second direction, the media restrainer moves into the up position, and the pick arm lifts the pick roller away from the stacked media.
