  • Patent number: 6382413
Abstract: A disk holder according to the present invention has a first core 1 and a second core 2. The cores are members having a given length with a generally U-shaped cross section and combined to oppose to each other so that adjustment of expansion and contraction of the cores can be carried out between an expanded diameter position and a contracted diameter position. The surfaces of the cores 1 and 2 are provided with rows of guides 7a and 7b and supports 8a and 8b. The row of the guides 7a and 7b forms flutes for receiving disks D one by one inbetween the guides to hold the disks at predetermined intervals. The supports 8a and 8b are projected rows for supporting the inner periphery of the axle hole of the disk by three-point support, the supports 8b being provided with resiliency. The holder 5 is inserted into the axle hole of the disk D at the contracted diameter position and supports a plurality of disks D, D, D . . . in a row at the expanded diameter position.

  • Patent number: 5374377
Abstract: There is disclosed a phosphorescent polyvinyl chloride ("PVC") film which exhibits an intense and long-lived afterglow. The phosphorescent PVC film contains a polymerized PVC-based resin, a primary and secondary plasticizer, a primary and secondary stabilizer, and a phosphorescent pigment. Within the practice of this invention, the primary stabilizer is solely a zinc-based stabilizer (non-zinc metal stabilizers are not employed); the secondary stabilizer is a tertiary organic phosphite; the primary plasticizer is a epoxidized soybean oil; the secondary plasticizer is selected from phthalates, adipates, trimellitates, azelates and phosphates; and the phosphorescent pigment is preferably a zinc sulfide phosphor. In addition to the phosphorescent PVC film, compositions and related methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5128381
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a polyurethane foam for cushioning materials. The polyurethane foam is formed by reacting a mixture of a polyol component, a polyisocyanate component and other optional components. The polyol component contains a mixed polyol which is composed of a low-hydroxyl-number polyol having a hydroxyl number of 30-80 and a high-hydroxyl-number polyol having a hydroxyl number of 350-600 and has an average hydroxyl number of 120-170. The mixture may additionally contain a plasticizer component containing at least one kind of plasticizer having one active hydrogen atom per molecule.

  • Patent number: 5026737
Abstract: A process for producing a urethane-modified polyisocyanurate foam comprises mixing a polyisocyanate component, a polyl component containing an aromatic polyester polyol, a catalyst, a foaming agent, a surfactant and other additives under high pressure in a mixing head and then spraying the resultant mixture to expand the foaming ingredient therein. The process uses, as the catalyst, at least three compounds of N,N',N"-tris(dimethylaminopropyl)-S-hexahydrotriazine, an alkali metal carboxylate and a lead compound in combination.

  • Patent number: 4987156
Abstract: A shock-absorbing polyurethane foam is formed of a polyol component and a polyisocyanate component. The polyol component is a mixed polyol having an average hydroxyl number of 130-250 and composed at least of 20-70 parts by weight of a low-molecular polyol having a molecular weight of 300-500 and 80-30 parts by weight of a high-molecular polyol having a molecular weight of 1,500-8,000 per 100 parts by weight of the whole polyol component. The foam further contains 5-150 parts by weight of a plasticizer having a solidification point not higher than -20.degree. C. per 100 parts by weight of the whole polyol component. The foam can be produced by reacting the polyol component and polyisocyanate component in the presence of 5-150 parts by weight of the plasticizer per 100 parts by weight of the polyol component.

  • Patent number: 4607439
Abstract: According to the invention, a novel laminated fabric sheet of excellent air permeability and a method for producing the same are provided. The laminated sheet comprises a first base fabric including spun yarn and having previously been treated with a water and oil repellent, a rubber composition layer formed on the first base fabric and having a multitude of fine air passages therein and a second sheet of base fabric laminated on the rubber composition layer. The base fabric which has been treated with the water and oil repellent prevents the coated rubber composition from reaching roots of whisker fibers of the spun yarn in the base fabric and fine cells are thereby formed around the lower portion of the whisker fibers. Subsequent heating of the laminated sheet of fabrics for curing the rubber composition causes these fine cells to be inflated to form air passages through the cured rubber composition layer.

  • Patent number: 4567093
Abstract: A rubber coated fabric comprises a base fabric and a coating material laminated on at least one side of the base fabric. The coating material comprises, as its main ingredient, a product of reaction between liquid rubber and polyisocyanate. According to the invention, there are also provided methods for producing the rubber coated fabric comprising steps of mixing and stirring liquid rubber and polyisocyanate together in a mixing-dispensing machine and coating the mixed liquid rubber and polyisocyanate on a base fabric either directly or by means of a release paper or film. According to the invention, curing of the coating material is performed in a low temperature of 120.degree. C. or below resulting in various advantages including saving of energy consumption, prevention of curling of the product and of volatilization of low-boiling point ingredients.

  • Patent number: 4528927
Abstract: A planing type boat having a water ballast chamber provided at the bottom of the boat includes a partition wall provided in the water ballast chamber to divide the chamber into front and rear compartments and formed with an opening for communicating these compartments with each other. In the initial stage of planing, the water in the rear compartment is fastly discharged due to a combined action of inertia, gravity and aspiration induced by the outside flow whereas the water in the front compartment which is restricted in its rearward flow by the partition wall structure is discharged relatively slowly as compared with the water in the rear compartment. The weight of the water therefore substantially acts on the front compartment in the initial stage of planing thereby effectively preventing the bow of the boat from being excessively lifted with the result that the time required for entering a complete planing is minimized.
