Patent number: 6469361Abstract: Techniques for etching a wafer layer using multiple layers of the same photoresistant material and structures formed using such techniques are provided. In a method, first, multiple layers of the same photoresist material are formed over the wafer layer to form a composite photoresist layer. The composite photoresist layer is patterned and developed to form a patterned photoresist layer. Exposed portions of the wafer layer are then removed using the pattern photoresist layer. Each of the multiple layers of photoresist may, for example, be formed to a maximum rated thickness for the photoresist material. Structures formed using this process may have relatively small dimensions (e.g., widths of 5 microns or less or a spacing or pitch of 5 microns or less). In addition, structures may also have sidewalls which are relatively long, smooth, and/or vertical.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2001Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventor: Nan Zhang

Publication number: 20020146922Abstract: A collar is provided that has a sleeve having a tapered axial bore that defines a tapered surface interiorly of the sleeve. The tapered axial bore is adapted to receive a receptacle such that the tapered surface bears against the receptacle. Moreover, the collar has a resilient device that engages the sleeve. The resilient device, the tapered axial bore of the sleeve, and the receptacle receive a connector. Axial displacement of the connector relative to the sleeve and the receptacle compresses the resilient device such that the resilient device exerts an increasing axial force on the sleeve. The increasing axial force displaces the sleeve axially relative to the receptacle causing the tapered surface to exert a radial force on the receptacle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2001Publication date: October 10, 2002Applicant: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventor: Michael J. Patent number: 6461055Abstract: The present invention relates to a fiber optic device for the optically connecting optical fiber. The device consists of fiber optic connectors holding the terminal ends of optical fiber in ferrules and an adapter for receiving fiber optic connectors. The adapter includes a sleeve within a longitudinal opening which aligns the ferrules and the terminal end of the optical fiber held by the ferrules. Within the sleeve is placed an attenuator which extends across the longitudinal opening in the sleeve and is held at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the opening by slots in the sidewall of the sleeve. The angle at which the attenuator is held may be perpendicular or non-perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The sleeve is further prevented from rotating within the adapter by pockets formed in the inner wall of the longitudinal opening engaging extensions of the attenuator beyond the sidewall of the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2001Date of Patent: October 8, 2002Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventor: Steven C. Publication number: 20020131421Abstract: A linked list buffer circuit can be configured to store different linked lists. The buffer includes insert logic and an insert state machine to add ATM cells to the linked lists in the buffer. Extract logic and an extract state machine allow for the removal of ATM cells from the linked lists in the buffer. Because, ATM cells can have different levels of priority, programmable monitor circuitry is provided to monitor the linked lists in the buffer. The monitor circuitry keeps track of buffer and list capacity, and also keeps track of cell loss priority and delay priority cells of the buffer and the linked lists. This information is used to drop received cells if necessary. The linked list monitor circuitry can be configured based upon the linked list configuration of the buffer. The linked list monitor can be configured by changing threshold levels provided to counter/comparator circuitry. Assignments of internal counter circuitry are also programmable based upon the buffer configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2001Publication date: September 19, 2002Applicant: ADC Telecommunications Israel Ltd.Inventors: Koby Reshef, Yochai Parchak, Amir Cohen, David Shyken
