Patent number: 7925014Abstract: Random number generating, encrypting, and decrypting apparatus, method thereof, program thereof, and recording medium thereof are provided. Random numbers for cryptographic applications are generated by a CA core. The CA core is composed of one-dimensional, two-state, and three-neighbor cell automaton. A total of three inputs for the own cell and both neighbor cells are input to each cell. Each cell performs a logical operation and outputs the result of the logical operation. Each cell contains a register. Each register captures the result of the logical operation in synchronization with a clock and stores the result. An output of a cell is fed back to the cell to perform an arithmetic calculation at the next time step. In this case, a rotation shift operation of which outputs of cells are shifted to the left and fed back to the cells is performed. To output random numbers having many bits, 40 bits of outputs of cells are selected.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2003Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Incorporated Administrative AgencyInventors: Song-Ju Kim, Akio Hasegawa, Ken Umeno

Patent number: 7903717Abstract: When a receiver (200) receives a signal transmitted from a transmitter, an A/D converter (204) converts the signal into a digital signal having two or more levels by A/D conversion. A zero-level detector (207) converts the signal into a two-level digital signal of positive and negative levels. The converted signals are subjected to spectrum despreading by correlators (206, 208), respectively. Whichever signal has a higher intensity is selected by absolute value detectors (209, 210), a comparator (211), and a switch (212). A decoder (213) decodes the selected signal. In a receiving state where the zero-level detector (207) is selected, the transmitter transmits the transmission signal after the signal is converted into a two-level signal. In a receiving state where the A/D converter (204) is selected, the transmitter transmits the transmission signal after the signal is converted into a signal having two or more levels.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2005Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignee: National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Incorporated Administrative AgencyInventors: Satoshi Takahashi, Hiroshi Harada, Chang-Jun Ahn

Patent number: 7729458Abstract: Signal decoding apparatus, signal decoding method, program, and information record medium are provided and can accomplish not only high-speed and high-capacity communication, but high-accuracy decoding. An initial channel estimation section 31 estimates an initial channel with a pilot symbol added at the beginning of each packet. After a replica of a transmission symbol is generated, for a reception signal vector, CCI components for L transmission antennas are generated. A CCI canceller 33 removes the CCI components from the reception signal vector. After the reception symbol vector from which the CCI components had been removed has been obtained, a division device 34 obtains an instantaneous estimation value. An update condition determination section 35 detects deterioration of a channel response accuracy based on a threshold value. An instantaneous estimation value whose SNR has been determined to be insufficient is discarded.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2006Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Incorporated Administrative AgencyInventors: Ryota Kimura, Hiroshi Harada, Ryuhei Funada

Patent number: 7697590Abstract: A chaos spreading code c(n) is inputted to a spreading unit 32. Data D1 and c(n) are multiplied in the spreading unit 32. A chaos spreading code d(n) is inputted to a spreading unit 42. Data D2 and d(n) are multiplied in the spreading unit 42. The chaos spreading codes c(n) and d(n) orthogonally cross each other. Outputs of the spreading units 32 and 42 are added by an adder 35 and transmitted through a transmitting unit 36 to a transmission path 38. By making an initial value which is set in a chaos sequence generator having a construction of a digital circuit different, the chaos spreading codes which orthogonally cross can be formed. Since the chaos spreading codes c(n) and d(n) orthogonally cross, an orthogonal modulating unit having a construction of an analog circuit for amplitude-modulating carriers which orthogonally cross can be made unnecessary and the construction can be simplified.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2004Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignees: Japan Science and Technology Agency, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Incorporated Administrative AgencyInventors: Ken Umeno, Akio Hasegawa, Minghui Kao

Patent number: 7697849Abstract: An optical transmitter generates a transmission signal having a frame as a unit, the frame including a single optical pilot signal with a constant optical phase and a plurality of phase-modulated optical data signals, and outputs the transmission signal into a transmission line. In a receiver, a splitter splits the optical signal input from the transmission line. On a second arm of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, an optical gate transmits the optical pilot signal and a duplicator duplicates the optical pilot signal output from the optical gate at predetermined time intervals. A balanced optical receiver converts the interfered optical signal output from the interferometer into an electrical signal. A gate and a discriminator extract the data from the electrical signal output from the receiver.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: National Institute of Information and Communications Technology Incorporated Administrative AgencyInventors: Yukiyoshi Kamio, Tetsuya Miyazaki
