    Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for regulating ion energies in a plasma chamber and chucking a substrate to a substrate support are disclosed. An exemplary method includes placing a substrate in a plasma chamber, forming a plasma in the plasma chamber, controllably switching power to the substrate so as to apply a periodic voltage function (or a modified periodic voltage function) to the substrate, and modulating, over multiple cycles of the periodic voltage function, the periodic voltage function responsive to a defined distribution of energies of ions at the surface of the substrate so as to effectuate the defined distribution of ion energies on a time-averaged basis.

    Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a bimetallic catalyst for reductively decomposing nitrate nitrogen, a powder including a trivalent iron oxide, a powder including a trivalent iron oxyhydroxide powder or a combination thereof is mixed in an aqueous solution. A copper precursor and a palladium precursor are mixed in the aqueous solution to form a precursor mixture. The precursor mixture is dried. The dried precursor mixture is fired at a temperature from about 300° C. to about 450° C. to form a fired product. The fired product is reduced by a reducing agent. A hydrochloric acid solution is mixed in the aqueous solution, or mixed with the copper precursor or the palladium precursor.

    Abstract: Provided herein is a method for forming a periodic microstructure on a surface of zirconia-based ceramics, which are not easily mechanically workable, without causing thermal adverse effects. A zirconia-based ceramic having a surface periodic microstructure is also provided. A linearly or circularly polarized laser beam is irradiated to a zirconia-based ceramic surface, and periodic irregularities are formed in a spot of the laser beam. Stripe-pattern irregularities parallel to the direction of polarization can be formed in a spot of a laser beam by irradiating a linearly polarized ultrashort pulsed-laser beam to a zirconia-based ceramic surface. A mesh-like raised region and a dot-like recessed region can be periodically formed by irradiating a circularly polarized ultrashort pulsed-laser beam to a ceramic surface.

    Abstract: An adjustable band or clamp or non-adjustable clamp is placed about the greater curvature of the stomach in a vertical orientation. The band or clamp completely compartmentalizes the stomach between a small vertical pouch and the fundus and body of the stomach. The fundus and body of the stomach are excluded from nutrients and are separated from a long narrow channel where the food travels. A small passage at the level of the antrum allows gastric juices to empty from the fundus and body of the stomach. The clamp may be applied during open surgery in laproscopic surgery or using a single port technique, or through any natural orifice in NOTES (Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic surgery) or using a hybrid surgical technique.

    Abstract: A system and method are described for performing tear film structure measurement. A broadband light source illuminates the tear film. A spectrometer measures respective spectra of reflected light from at least one point of the tear film. A color camera performs large field of view imaging of the tear film, so as to obtain color information for all points of the tear film imaged by the color camera. A processing unit calibrates the camera at the point measured by the spectrometer so that the color obtained by the camera at the point matches the color of the spectrometer at the same point. The processing unit determines, from the color of respective points of the calibrated camera, thicknesses of one or more layers of the tear film at the respective points. Other applications are also described.

Each corner reinforcing tab has a front edge being flush with the front edge of the tongue and an outside edge being flush with one of the outside edges of the tongue. The shell accommodates the insulated housing. The front corners of the shielding plate are substantially hidden in the front corners of the tongue, which prevents inadvertent rupture at the front corners.
