Abstract: Nuclear reactor systems and methods are described having many unique features tailored to address the special conditions and needs of emerging markets. The fast neutron spectrum nuclear reactor system may include a reactor having a reactor tank. A reactor core may be located within the reactor tank. The reactor core may include a fuel column of metal or cermet fuel using liquid sodium as a heat transfer medium. A pump may circulate the liquid sodium through a heat exchanger. The system may include a balance of plant with no nuclear safety function. The reactor may be modular, and may produce approximately 100 MWe.
Abstract: The present embodiments provide systems and methods for valve insertion and linestopping. In one embodiment, the system comprises a sealing housing having a lower housing portion and an upper housing portion that are each dimensioned to partially surround an exterior surface of an existing pipe in an airtight state. In one embodiment, an integral valve assembly is disposed at least partially within an integral valve housing section of the upper housing portion. The integral valve assembly comprises a valve movable between an open position in which the valve provides an open pathway through an opening in the upper housing portion, and a closed position in which the valve provides a seal adjacent to the opening. The upper housing portion may be adapted to selectively receive each of an adapter plate for a cutting machine, a valve bonnet, and a blind flange.
Abstract: The method and apparatus as shown in the present invention is to measure the absorption of light by material contained in a liquid. A transmitted signal is sent through a measurement window to a measurement chamber to a target point just inside the measurement window. The reflected signal indicates the amount of light absorbed by a material in the measurement chamber which allows for the amount of materials in a liquid to be determined. Adjustments are made through an optical block and a light control molecule to correct for variations in light intensity.

Abstract: A conductor including a graphene layer and a method of manufacturing the conductor are provided. The conductor may further include a nano pattern disposed on a substrate, and the graphene layer may be formed on the nano pattern. The nano pattern may have any various shapes and include a material that interacts with the graphene layer. The nano pattern and the graphene layer included in the conductor may interact with each other, such that the electric characteristics of the conductor are maintained while the heat transfer characteristics thereof are improved.

Abstract: A bumper back-beam for a vehicle is provided. The bumper back beam includes a glass fiber mat reinforced plastic composite and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite disposed within the glass fiber reinforced plastic composite. The glass fiber mat reinforced plastic composite includes polypropylene at about 45 to 60 wt. %, glass fiber at about 35 to 45 wt. %, a crosslink agent at about 0.1 to 10 wt. %, peroxide at 0.1 to 4 wt. %, and an antioxidant at about 0.1 to 4 wt. %. The carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite includes a thermoplastic resin at about 40 to 60 wt. % and a carbon reinforced fiber at about 40 to 60 wt. % arranged in a predetermined direction.

Abstract: An advanced coating for electrostatic chuck used in plasma processing chamber is provided. The advanced coating is formed using plasma enhanced physical vapor deposition. The coating is generally of Y2O3/Al2O3, although other material combinations can be used. Also, a multi-layered coating can be formed, such that an intermediate coating layer can be formed using standard plasma spray, and a top coating can be formed using PEPVD. The number of causative microorganisms of periodontal disease can be suppressed by administering the compositions into the oral cavity. Abstract: A high-density shape reconstruction is conducted in measuring animal bodies as well. Abstract: A method for seaming artificial turf at its edges is provided. In some embodiments, the method includes providing a tape having a lower surface resting on a support surface, an upper surface underlying the edges of the artificial turf, and a hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive provided on the upper surface of the tape. After application of heat sufficient to soften the hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive, the layer of hot melt adhesive is bonded to the lower surface of the edges of the turf to the tape while the adhesive extends into valleys of the underside of the turf. Also provided is a heating cart for heating the adhesive and a method of using the heating cart to heat the adhesive.
