Abstract: The present invention relates to an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) model of Noonan syndrome, a preparation method thereof, and uses to study of the pathogenesis of Noonan syndrome and a therapeutic agent screening method. Particularly, induced pluripotent stem cells from dermal fibroblasts of a Noonan syndrome-patient (NS-iPSCs) were generated, and differentiated into embryoid bodies (EBs), neural rosettes and neural cells. These iPSCs exhibited the normal morphology while showed reduced differentiation potency compare to control cell lines. NS-iPSCs were developed into embryoid bodies and neural rosettes by naturally and chemically directed differentiation. Interestingly, embryoid bodies and neural rosettes induced via chemically directed differentiation exhibited normal morphology and expressed ectoderm, neural rosettes and neural marker genes similar to normal cells.

Abstract: Provided are an image restoration method and device. The method comprises: processing image blocks, which are initially registered, to acquire connection curves among the image blocks; constructing an ambient field of images to be restored by means of the connection curve; by minimizing energy of the connection curve in the ambient field, registering the image blocks; and performing image filling on the registered image blocks to acquire a restored image. The device comprises: a processing unit used for processing the image blocks, which are initially registered, to acquire the connection curve among the image blocks; an ambient field construction unit used for constructing the ambient field of the image to be restored by means of the connection curve; a registering unit used for registering the image blocks by minimizing the energy of the connection curve in the ambient field; and a filling unit used for performing image filling on the registered image blocks to acquire the restored image.

Abstract: A time-temperature indicator (TTI) uses polymer hardening properties to “set” or retain indications of temperature history. The TTI includes a mesh layer affixed to a thermo-conductive adhesive layer and a photonic crystal patterned film affixed to the mesh layer. The photonic crystal shows a property of bandgap shift vs temperature and responds to a predetermined range of temperatures to provide a visible indication of the range of temperatures. A hardener pouch is affixed to one end of the mesh layer and releases hardener in response to an initiating event, so that the photonic crystal material responds to the hardener by presenting a fixed state.

Abstract: Sensor coupled to the ultrasound probe provides position information related to an ultrasound imaging position in the object. A processor performs first registration between the medical image and the ultrasound image based on the anatomical feature in the ultrasound image and a medical image of the object acquired by imaging modality different from the ultrasound apparatus, obtains first registration information which provides a relationship between a coordinate system of the medical image and a coordinate system of the ultrasound image based on the first registration, performs second registration between the sensor and the medical image based on the position information and the first registration information, and obtains second registration information based on the second registration. A display may display a portion of the medical image corresponding to the ultrasound imaging position based on the second registration information. The manufacturing method of the plant derived plastic blend is carried out in a cylinder by applying a shear flow field and a stretching field and melt-kneading raw material containing the plant derived polyethylene, the polylactic acid and the compatibilizing agent.

Abstract: An emergency alert system, method and device are disclosed. The invention employs an emergency alert message, which directs end users to take some particular action like evacuating an identified geographic area. The invention further employs a geographic area message, which is based on a particular geographic area within which all persons should receive the emergency alert message. The invention utilizes an emergency alert enabled device that receives both the emergency alert message and the geographic area message. The emergency alert enabled device determines whether it is located within the geographic area of concern, and if so, presents the emergency alert message to the end user.
