  • Patent number: 5984506
Abstract: A control device for controlling a machine tool includes at least one memory for storing control data characterizing the instantaneous operating state of the machine tool during machining and a memory management device for managing the control data such that machining can be resumed after an interruption. The control data is separated into dynamic control data and static control data. The method for controlling a machine tool uses the control device and stores the static and dynamic control data in the memory. As a workpiece is machined, the instantaneous operating state of the machine tool is continuously stored so that machining can be resumed after an interruption.

  • Patent number: 5397223
Abstract: A positive-displacement machine for compressible media has a positive displacement body that is retained on a disk-like rotor, which is eccentrically drivable relative to the housing, in such a manner that each of its points executes a circular motion during operation. To that end, an eccentric disk is disposed on a drive shaft, and the rotor is supported on this disk by means of an oil-lubricated bearing. The lubricating oil is delivered and removed to and from the side remote from the drive side of the drive shaft, and the separation of the oil inflow from the oil return flow is effected in the housing by a slide bearing which has one oil chamber each on both ends. The separation of the oil streams is effected by an indentation that does not extend over the entire length of the slide bearing. Through this indentation, the slide bearing is likewise supplied with oil. The indentation connects the oil inflow bore in the housing with the oil chamber.

  • Patent number: 5362217
Abstract: In a positive-displacement device for compressible media with a helically-shaped conveying chamber disposed in a stationary housing, a helically-shaped positive-displacement body is associated with the conveying chamber. The body is maintained on a disk-shaped rotor which can be eccentrically driven in relation to the housing in such a way that during operation, each one of its points performs a circular movement which is limited by the circumferential walls of the conveying chamber. The front faces of the positive-displacement body adjoining one lateral wall of the conveying chamber are provided with a groove into which a sealing strip, consisting of a resilient material which is capable of gliding, is inserted. The groove has at least partially a meander-like extent.

  • Patent number: 5356276
Abstract: A displacement machine for compressible mediums has several spiral-shaped conveying spaces (11a, 11b), which are disposed in a stationary housing lead from an inlet (12a, 12b), which lies radially on the outside, to an outlet (13), which lies radially on the inside. A displacement body, which is assigned to the conveying spaces has a disk (2) with spiral-shaped strips (3a, 3b) arranged perpendicularly on both sides. This displacement body, driven off-centered, is made of a magnesium alloy. During service, each of its points effects a circular movement defined by the circumferential walls of the conveying space. The ribs (45, 46) bordering the conveying spaces (11a, 11b) in the housing are made as one piece with the housing and the entire housing is made of the same or similar magnesium-based alloy as the displacement body (2, 3, 4, 5).

The spirally extending ribs are embodied in several steps. The plurality of steps are spatially separated from each other by the formation of an space, and the radially outer step has at least twice as many pumping chambers as the radially inner step. Cooling means in the form of cooling ribs are preferably provided in the space, between the outlet of the radially outer step and the inlet of the radially inner step.

  • Patent number: 5324909
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring and/or controlling the tension in a ribbon or wire-type electrode of an electric discharge machine in which the ribbon or wire-type electrode is passed around a rotatable roller which is in operative engagement with a sensor. The roller is adapted to be driven in rotation by a motor or to be retarded by a brake. A support member for the roller and the motor or for the roller and the brake accommodates the weight of the roller and the motor or of the roller and the brake so that no load caused by the motor or the brake plus the roller acts in the direction of the tensile stress of the electrode. Any movement of the support means can be detected by a sensor, and the magnitude of the tension can be derived by a control unit from the output signal of the sensor. In operation, the control unit determines the tension on the wire and causes the unit to either increase or decrease the resistance caused by the roller.

  • Patent number: 5324240
Abstract: In an eccentric gear in which the gear rim of a first orbiting cog wheel is in engagement with the gear rim of a second rotating cog wheel, the two gear rims are offset from each other by an eccentricity. The second cog wheel is fixed to a driven shaft seated in a fixed housing. At least three eccentric shafts, which are evenly spaced about the circumference of the cog wheel, are provided for guiding the orbiting cog wheel, the eccentrics of each shaft being seated in respective bores of the orbiting cog wheel. One of the three eccentric shafts extends through the housing wall on one side and is formed as the drive shaft. The three eccentric shafts are coupled via a slider orbiting with an eccentricity which is considerably greater compared with the drive eccentricity.

  • Patent number: 5322426
Abstract: A displacement machine for compressible mediums exhibits several spiral-shaped conveying spaces, which are disposed in a stationary housing and which span a circumferential angle of approximately 360.degree.. The spiral-shaped displacement bodies, which are assigned to the conveying spaces and which span a circumferential angle of approximately 360.degree., are held in such a manner on a disk-shaped rotor, driven off-centered with respect to the housing, that during service each of their points effects a circular movement defined by the circumferential walls of the conveying spaces. The predominant reach of both the spirals of the conveying spaces and the displacement bodies extends with a first curvature and their exit-sided end exhibits over an angular range (.alpha.) of 45.degree. a second curvature that is clearly smaller.

  • Patent number: 5154591
Abstract: A displacement machine for compressible media includes a stationary housing, and a plurality of disks mounted for eccentric movement within the housing. Each of the disks has two symmetrically disposed spiral displacement bodies that are offset from one another by substantially 180.degree. mounted on at least one side thereof so that the spiral displacement bodies move in an orbital fashion within the housing during operation. The disks are positioned with respect to one another such that each of the spiral displacement bodies intermeshes with another spiral distribution body to define pairs of cooperating spiral displacement bodies. The spiral displacement bodies have a curvature that is dimensioned such that opposed surfaces of cooperating spiral displacement bodies substantially contact one another at at least one sealing line that progresses continuously during operation.
