    Abstract: A process of making and spreading, on a highway, a non-skid highway surfacing composed of aggregates mixed in a bituminous binder, according to which aggregates mixed in molten asphaltic bitumen are prepared, which are screened at the same time as they are spread, with the result that a relatively thick surfacing carpet is obtained which is composed of two superposed layers, the top layer of which is constituted by the chips retained by the screen.

    Abstract: A process for the measurement in vivo of the degree of bone consolidation, characterized in that it consists of implanting directly on the surface of the bone a transmitter with its power supply circuit, the oscillation frequency of the transmitter being capable of varying about a predetermined value during stresses applied to the bone to which the transmitter is secured. Signals emitted by the transmitter are received on a suitable external receiver positioned adjacent the transmitter. The receiver output signals are utilized for various purposes, such as checking, measurement and recording.

    Abstract: Elastomers with thermoplastic properties consist of polymers grafted on an elastomeric chain which includes double bonds and active sites. The latter are more particularly halogen atoms, especially chlorine, and the grafted polymer is a polyindene or a copolymer of indene with styrene derivatives, such as .alpha.-methylstyrene or para-alkyl-styrene. In the process for preparing these thermoplastic elastomers the choice of constituent proportions, catalyst and solvent is important. Elastomers possessing at 80.degree. C. a breaking strength of at least 60 kg/cm.sup.2 can be obtained.
