  • Patent number: 4244641
Abstract: A microfilm reader for enlarged projections of any desired micropicture among a number of such pictures on a microfilm. The microfilm is interleaved between two movable plates. A slidable support for the image forming objective is pressed with a tensioned spring against the upper plate. The slidable support can be connected to a slide lever for effecting its placement in proper position. Two arms of a spring can be employed for mounting the slidable support and for tilting it around an axis essentially parallel to the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 4243891
Abstract: Apparatus for detection of holes in a running web of photographic paper has a U-shaped housing with two spaced-apart legs between which a portion of the web travels toward a severing device. One leg of the housing contains several photoconductive detectors, and the other leg of the housing contains the light emitting portion of a light conducting prism whose light admitting portion is adjacent to a light source mounted in the housing inwardly of the detectors. The prism disperses the incoming light so as to uniformly illuminate the web portion in the gap between the two legs of the housing. The light source, the detectors and an amplifier for signals which are transmitted by the detectors are mounted on a plate which further carries conductors connecting the detectors with the amplifier.

  • Patent number: 4241173
Abstract: Silver halide is precipitated in a large excess of a soluble chloride that forms together with silver ions a silver salt more readily soluble than the silver salt of the final emulsion. By precipitation of silver halide in the presence of the soluble chloride used in excess part of the silver chloride is carried along with the less soluble silver halide and may subsequently be converted into the less soluble silver halide.

  • Patent number: 4240744
Abstract: A photographic copying machine wherein any one of a series of masks, each having a differently dimensioned light-transmitting opening, can be placed onto a locating plate which supports a battery of fixedly mounted or mobile magnetic actuators for discrete electric switching elements. Each mask carries a different array of soft magnets which displace or otherwise influence a group of actuators so that the thus influenced actuators open or close the associated switching elements which adjust the exposure controls and/or another system of the copying machine in dependency on the size and/or shape of the opening in the selected mask. The soft magnets on each mask influence a different group (e.g., a different number) of actuators each of which is an H-shaped permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 4240727
Abstract: A first photodetector arrangement comprises three adjoining photodetectors, and a second comprises six. First and second optics, and the two photodetector arrangements, are located immovable on the camera, and the optics project onto the first arrangement an image of a subject which is to form the basis of a subject-distance measurement, without shift between image and photodetectors of the first arrangement so long as the subject-distance is within one of the ranges the system is to furnish; whereas the image projected onto the second photodetector arrangement shifts relative thereto in dependence upon the distance to the subject. The six photodetectors of the second arrangement are subdivided, for signal-processing purposes, into four successive groups, respectively comprised of the first, second and third photodetector, the second, third and fourth, the third, fourth and fifth, etc.

  • Patent number: 4230400
Abstract: A focussing system emits an infrared light beam towards the subject, the reflected beam passing through an infrared filter and being projected by a spot optics as a small spot onto a pair of photosensitive elements. The spot optics shifts in a plane normal to the camera's optical axis in dependence upon rotation of the camera's focussing ring, to vary the distribution of the reflected beam onto the two elements, the distribution being equal between them when the state of focus is correct. A circuit derives, from the output signals of the two photosensitive elements, a state-of-focus signal used to automatically focus or else to indicate to the user the direction in which he should manually adjust focus. When focussing is finished, the photosensitive elements are disconnected from the focussing circuitry and connected to the camera's exposure-control circuitry, to thereby serve a dual function. The infrared filter moves out of the light path of the photosensitive elements.
