  • Publication number: 20020137010
Abstract: The present invention is of a dental magnetic attachment with superior strength and anticorrosion characteristics that can accommodate moderate swinging or rotation during occlusion without the formation of a gap between the magnetic assembly and the keeper. Wear resistance of the attractive faces is enhanced by the surface treatment of the attractive faces with a layer of Al2O3, TiN, diamond or other substance.

  • Patent number: 6444052
Abstract: A production method to produce an anisotropic NdFeB based alloy magnet having a high anisotropic ratio and coercivity by a simple procedure. The production method consists of a first hydrogenation process, a second hydrogenation process and a desorption process. The first hydrogenation process at a low temperature produces the hydride that stores hydrogen needed in advance of the phase transformation. After that, the second hydrogenation process at an elevated temperature proceeds smoothly at a moderate reaction rate of the phase transformation and produces the mixture of NdH2, Fe and Fe2 B from the hydride in addition to making the crystallographic orientation of Fe2 B phase consistent with the original R2 Fe14 B matrix phase. Subsequently, the desorption process produces the fine grained microstructure of Nd2 Fe14 BHx with high degrees of alignment of the crystallographic orientation consistent with the original crystallographic orientation of Fe2 B phase.

  • Publication number: 20020059965
Abstract: This invention aims to provide a manufacturing method of an anisotropic magnet powder from which a bonded magnet with an improved loss of magnetization due to structural changes can be achieved. This is achieved by employing a low-temperature hydrogenation process, high-temperature hydrogenation process and the first evacuation process to an RFeB material (R: rare earth element) to manufacture a hydride powder (RFeBHx); the obtained RFeBHx powder (the precursory anisotropic magnet powder) is subsequently blended with a diffusion powder composed of hydride of dysprosium or the like and a diffusion heat-treatment process and a dehydrogenation process are employed. Through this series of processes, an anisotropic magnet powder with a great coercivity and a great degree of anisotropy can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20020039719
Abstract: The present invention is a bar type dental attachment for implants that makes use of magnetic attractive force to secure a denture in place. This bar type dental attachment can rotate corresponding to the movement of the denture during occlusion. The present invention has excellent wear resistance and makes insertion and removal of the denture easy. The present invention has a bar type keeper with an arced attractive face with a constant radius of curvature, and a magnetic assembly that comprises a magnet, a pair of yoke plates sandwiching the magnet, and a seal material made of anticorrosive non-magnetic material that covers the magnet and is hermetically sealed. The attractive surface of the magnetic assembly is curved to fit the keeper.

  • Publication number: 20010030537
Abstract: A magnetic field detection device that detects two components of an external magnetic field. The device uses the magneto-impedance effect in ferromagnetic amorphous wire. A detection coil wrapped around the amorphous wire detects the magnetic flux change of the amorphous wire, which is proportional to the external magnetic field. The sensitivity of the device is increased due to circuitry that extracts the initial output pulse. It is also increased with the use of negative feedback and with the comparison of differential outputs. The two sets of detection elements are placed orthogonally for greatest sensitivity. Resin molding is employed for easy handling. This detection device can be used as part of a compass.

  • Patent number: 6299450
Abstract: A dental magnetic attachment which has a superior magnetic attractive force with a small nonmagnetic welded part and a flat welded surface to be polished. The dental magnetic attachment including a magnet, a yoke with a pit to hold the magnet, a sealing disk placed on the opening of the pit to cover the magnet and a nonmagnetic welded part between the yoke and the disk. The yoke and the disk are made from soft magnetic material. The nonmagnetic welded part, which joins the yoke and the disk, is formed by welding the yoke, the sealing disk, the sealing ring made from nonmagnetic austenitic stainless steel and a Ni coat between the sealing disk and the sealing ring together. Here, it is preferably that there remains a part of the nonmagnetic sealing ring. The welded surface of the dental magnetic attachment is polished to be flat.
