  • Patent number: 9102102
Abstract: A structure comprising a plurality of plies of fiber-reinforced composite material, each ply having a ply orientation defined by a principal stiffness direction of the ply. The structure has a first region and a second region, each region comprising N1 primary plies, N4 cross plies with a ply orientation substantially perpendicular to the primary plies, N2 positive-angled bias plies with a ply orientation at a positive acute angle to the primary plies, and N3 negative-angled bias plies with a ply orientation substantially perpendicular to the positive-angled bias plies. The ply orientation of the primary plies in each region is more closely aligned with a primary axis of the structure than the cross plies or the bias plies. N1=N4 in the first region but not in the second N region, and N2=N3 in the second region but not in the first region. • Patent number: 9102395
Abstract: A propulsive system for aircraft that has a jet engine and a nacelle surrounding the aforementioned jet engine. The nacelle has a front section fixed relative to the jet engine, and a rear extremity behind the front section, and has a rear section with two petals hinged relative to the front section. Each of the two petals in a position called zero-setting forms an extension of the front section of the nacelle in which the inside and outside surfaces of the petals and, respectively, determine the aerodynamic forms of the rear section, which are in geometric continuity with the inside and outside surfaces and, respectively, that determine the aerodynamic forms of the front section. The petals can be set individually at a positive or negative setting angle to put into play the reverser, APU, air brake, vectorial, and taxiing modes of the propulsive system.

  • Patent number: 9096021
Abstract: A forming tool with a predefined mold portion is provided in a method for producing a reinforced fiber composite component for aviation and aerospace. A forming/support element is molded by means of the mold portion of the forming tool. A semi-finished fiber product is then deposited at least in portions on the shaped forming/support element. The deposited semi-finished fiber product is deformed by means of the forming/support element to form at least one reinforcing portion. The forming/support element is then removed from the forming tool together with the reinforcing section formed on this element, followed by defined positioning of the reinforcing section thus formed with respect to an associated fiber composite component portion by supporting with the forming/support element. The reinforcing portion is cured to form the reinforced fiber composite component. A forming device is provided with a predefined mold portion which holds a forming/support element such that it can be removed.

Abstract: A connecting rod including two non-connected rod elements coaxial with a longitudinal axis which are offset along the longitudinal axis, and an energy-absorption device that absorbs energy by plastic deformation. The energy-absorption device includes a coaxial hollow tube with a wall which deforms plastically when subjected to an axial compressive force exceeding a certain threshold, a coaxial pin having ends immobilized with respect to the rod elements in the event of tensile forces, and a sleeve fitting over the two facing ends of the rod elements which are positioned one on each side of the energy-absorption device, the sleeve being slidable with respect to one rod element in order to allow the hollow tube and/or the pin to deform and absorb energy. The sleeve limits a range of deformation so that a breaking point of the energy-absorption device is not reached.
