Abstract: A method and a system for automatically exchanging information by wireless communication, particularly between a vehicle such as an aircraft and an information center, is proposed. The information to be exchanged concerns an amount of water for the vehicle. The amount of water on board of the vehicle is automatically measured by a device for determining the amount of water. The transmitter of a device for exchanging information at the vehicle automatically and wirelessly transmits the information concerning the current amount of water to a receiver of a device for exchanging information at an information center. New information parameters are wirelessly transmitted from the transmitter of the device for exchanging information at the information center to the receiver of the device for exchanging information at the vehicle.

Abstract: A friction-stir tool including a rotary-drivable tool body, at whose end facing away from the drive is provided a shoulder, from which extends in the direction of that end of the tool body that faces away from the drive, a rotatable rod-shaped projection that has a smaller diameter than the shoulder. The surface of the shoulder that points in the direction of the projection is form-adaptable.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an acoustic absorber that is particularly suitable for aircraft engines and has a honeycomb-shaped 3-dimensional structure, which absorbs engine noise when used in an engine. The structure has a plurality of folded honeycomb structures formed by folding a flat semi-finished product.
Abstract: In one embodiment, an aircraft comprises a fuselage 1, a passenger cabin 3 housed therein, and a primary opening 13 for accessing the cabin 3. The opening 13 is located in a central region extending from 20% to 80% of the total cabin length. The opening 13 has a width greater than 1 m, so as to be suitable for the side-by-side, simultaneous passage of at least two adult persons walking therethrough. In another embodiment, an aircraft comprises a passenger cabin 3, having a first set of seats 7a, and a second set of seats 7b separated from the first 7a set of seats by a passageway 15 transverse to the length of the cabin 5. The first and second sets of seats 7a, 7b each face towards the passageway 15. These embodiments may enable a reduction in turnaround time.
