  • Patent number: 8329433
Abstract: A method for performing a polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The method comprises the step of maintaining a reaction mixture in a PCR reaction chamber alternatively at a first temperature and a second temperature using a device comprising a first heater for heating a temperature-control substance to a first temperature, a second heater for heating said temperature-control substance to a second temperature, a pump located in between and connected in series with the first heater and the second heater; and a bladder unit connected to the first and second heaters via different ports. The pump introduces the temperature-control substance into the bladder unit at the first temperature and the second temperature alternatively with a regular interval to enable the PCR.
