Abstract: A patient support table is provided. The patient support table includes a table plate that may be moved manually or by at least one motor having a control facility. At least one sensor is provided on the table plate. The at least one sensor is operable to determine a force exerted by a user on the table plate for table plate movement and produce a sensor signal. The at least one sensor is operable to communicate with the control facility of the motor. The control facility is operable to control the motor as a function of the sensor signal that is based on a predetermined reference force value such that the reference force value is not exceeded during the table movement.

Abstract: A device has a converter which is connected to a direct voltage circuit through a short-circuit protection unit. The short-circuit protection unit is arranged at least partially in the direct voltage circuit and is provided in the direct voltage circuit to suppress short-circuit current flowing through the converter. The device contains one or more controllable power semiconductors, wherein a protection element is arranged in parallel to at least one of the controllable power semiconductors. Abstract: A high-speed shear for transversely cutting rolled strip with knife carriers which can be driven for rotation and are arranged in pairs opposite each other. The knife carriers are supported on shafts of gear wheels arranged at a fixed axial spacing in pairs opposite each other in a shear cassette. The shear cassette is mounted within an outer frame and the shear cassette is provided with a lifting device for raising or lowering the shear cassette within the outer frame. In a method for operating the shear, the two knife carriers are moved into a horizontal position for allowing the strip end to enter or travel through, and the shear cassette is moved within the outer frame into a raised transfer position.
Abstract: A gas sensor detects carbon dioxide, for example for use in air-conditioning systems. The gas sensor is based on a field effect transistor construction. It has a polymer-based material sensitive to carbon dioxide as gas-sensitive layer. The material has a cross-sensitivity with respect to air humidity. The influence of humidity is compensated for by using the signal of a humidity sensor.

Abstract: A system of layers in a protective coating (20) for a substrate (22), including at least an outer thermal barrier layer (32) and a tungsten bronze structure ceramic underlayer (30) that reduces spalling of the outer layer. The range of materials for the underlayer includes ceramics of the form Ba6?3mRe8+2mTi18O54, where 0<m<1.5, and Re is any rare earth element or mixture thereof. These underlayer materials reduce spalling of the thermal barrier layer, and thus extend the life of the coating system. In some embodiments, materials for the outer thermal barrier layer may include Yttria-stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) or ceramics with lower thermal conductivity than YSZ. A segmented YSZ layer (26) is provided in some embodiments for additional thermal expansion compliance.

These lipid compositions, in particular liposomes, are characterized by the presence of large quantities of unsaturated ether lipids. In a further aspect, the existing invention concerns a process for the extraction of these unsaturated ether lipids from the designated Archaea.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the removal of NO and NO2 from an oxygen-containing gas stream, which comprises a scrubbing step in which the gas stream is brought into contact with an ammonia-containing scrubbing solution, NO is oxidized to form NO2 by means of the oxygen present at a pressure of at least 2 bar and temperatures of from 15° C. to 60° C. and at least part of the NO2 present in the gas stream is converted by means of the ammonia-containing scrubbing solution into ammonium nitrite and a downstream decomposition step in which the ammonium nitrite present in the scrubbing solution is thermally decomposed into elemental nitrogen and water, where the decomposition step is carried out at temperatures of from 121° C. to 190° C. and a pressure of from 2 to 40 bar. The invention likewise relates to a plant for operation of the process of the invention.
