Abstract: A vehicle battery is charged by an authorized charging station. A first cryptographically protected communication link is set up between a charging control unit of the vehicle and the charging station after successful preliminary verification of a digital certificate for the charging station by the charging control unit of the vehicle. A second communication link is then set up between the charging control unit and an authorization server for charging stations. The charging control unit transmits information from the preliminarily verified digital certificate to the authorization server via the second communication link, which information is used by the authorization server to carry out an authorization check on the respective charging station. An authorization check result is transmitted from the authorization server to the charging control unit via the second communication link, which result is used to control a charging of the vehicle battery.

  • Patent number: 8429230
Abstract: A method for transmitting an invitation to a communication relating to a medical image in a DICOM data record from a person who has access to the image to a partner is proposed. The invitation is stored as information in the DICOM data record of the image. The DICOM data record is transmitted to a server. With reference to the invitation, the server determines a message channel which leads to the partner. The server transmits the invitation to the partner via the message channel.

  • Patent number: 8428615
Abstract: A method and a device for determining a position of a communication apparatus is provided. To determine a position of a first apparatus a first signal is transmitted from a second apparatus to the first apparatus. A second signal is then transmitted from the first apparatus to the second apparatus as a response to the first signal, the first signal and the second signal being transmitted by way of at least two different mediums. Signal strength of the second signal received by the second apparatus and a transfer time from a first time of transmission of the first signal to a second time of receipt of the second signal are measured. The position of the first apparatus is finally calculated as a function of the measured signal strength of the received second signal and the measured transfer time.

  • Patent number: 8428797
Abstract: A method and a configuration for the operation of a railroad line include at least one signal box for providing line-block-section-specific light signal data and a line side system for an intermittent automatic or inductive train control system at line block section ends. In order to dispense with line side light signals and still be able to continue to use a signal box logic concept for light signals, the signal box transfers the line-block-section-specific light signal data over a radio system to a rail vehicle and the intermittent automatic or inductive train control system transfers line-block-section-specific data to the rail vehicle during passage by the rail vehicle. The rail vehicle determines the light signal data assigned to the line block section by comparison of line block section specifics.

  • Patent number: 8425831
Abstract: An installation for producing stainless steel for all stainless steel products both in the austenitic and the ferritic range, based on liquid pig-iron and FeCr solids, without using a supply of electrical energy. The liquid pig-iron, after being pre-treated in a blast furnace, is subjected to a DDD treatment (dephosphorization, desiliconization and desulphurization), is heated, finished or alloyed and deoxidated. The quantity of slag-free liquid pig-iron that has been pre-treated in the blast furnace and a DDD device is separated and introduced into two classic “twin” AOD-L converters, where the required chemical process steps (of the heating, decarburization and alloying stages) take place in parallel contrary processes using autogenous chemical energy. The heating stage is carried out first in the first twin AOD-L converter and the decarburization is carried out first in the second twin AOD-L converter.

  • Patent number: 8424967
Abstract: A seat includes a bearing structure and a number of cushions. The cushions cover the entire area of the seat surface and the backrest of the seat. Each cushion is formed of a textile spacer structure held in a fluid-tight casing. The casing has a connection for a hose line. Before a user sits on the seat, the hose line is open to the outside air. Due to the force applied by the seat user, the cushion and spacer structure are compressed, whereby simultaneously air is displaced out of the cushion. The cushions thus experience a contouring according to the body shape of the seat user. After the user sits down, the contouring can be fixed by blocking device the hose line, and thus separating the reduced air volume in the inside of the cushion from the outside air. In this way, the contouring of the seat cushions is maintained when the seat user leaves the seat.

  • Patent number: 8427155
Abstract: In a method and a device to control a workflow of an MR measurement in a magnetic resonance system, MR signals from multiple slices of a predetermined volume segment of an examination subject are acquired, multiple slices with a continuous table feed. In the MR measurement, one of these multiple slices in the active volume of the magnetic resonance system is repeatedly measured in succession at different measurement positions Pi in an order corresponding to the index of the measurement positions Pi. The measurement positions Pi are determined via the following Equation, starting from a largely arbitrary first measurement position P1 selected in the active volume of the magnetic resonance system: P i = P i - 1 + d × ( ± c - 1 + c c + e × ( 1 - TR - TB TR ) ) , ? ? ? for ? ? i = 2 , … ? , c + e , wherein d is a slice interval, c is a natural number greater than 1 and e is a whole number that is not greater than c and not less than 0.
