Abstract: The clamping shank (1) of a chisel-cutting and/or percussion boring tool bits has stop faces effective in the axial direction and in the circumferential direction. Entrainment faces (2), open towards a free end of the clamping shank (1) are located upstream of these stop faces in the direction of the cutting area of the tool bits. The radial dimension (r) of the essentially radially extending entrainment faces (2) is greater than their axial dimension (a). In cooperation with an appropriately designed tool bit receptacle, the entrainment faces (2) can carry such a large share of the torque, that the stop faces are effectively relieved or unloaded.

Abstract: The invention concerns a jet compressor for gaseous media for use in metallurgical or chemical processes having a driving nozzle which is arranged centrically in a jet head and directed toward a mixing chamber with which a diffuser is connected coaxially. In order to avoid the conventional disadvantages and provide a jet compressor which is simple in design and as compact as possible and to achieve improved efficiency and pressure ratios in comparison to jet devices of the same scale while operating in a reliable manner, it is proposed that the driving nozzle (10) be a ring jet nozzle having a conical central body (12) which narrows in diameter conically toward the mixing chamber (31) of the nozzle (30).

Abstract: The invention is directed to a multi-tier parking facility system for depositing and removing vehicles, particularly passenger automobiles. The facility includes parking devices which are arranged in a plurality of levels in corresponding parking spaces. Each parking device has plural comb-like carrying arms for receiving the vehicles. A tier conveyor is vertically movable between drive-in and drive-out areas for receiving and discharging the vehicle at a selected level. The tier conveyor includes a transfer device having comb-like carrying arms. The transfer device includes a lifting device for transferring the vehicles to and from the parking device respectively. The parking devices are horizontally movable on parking rails arranged in the parking space and on travel rails arranged on the tier conveyor. The parking devices are pulled out of and pushed into the parking spaces or boxes by a hauling device which is arranged at the tier conveyor.

Abstract: A method of determining a temporary subscriber number (TMSI) in a subscriber data base is disclosed. Subscriber data bases with large subscriber-data fluctuations require special strategies to ensure optimum utilization of the available storage space while keeping access times as short as possible. In addition, subscriber anonymity is to be ensured. A method is provided for assigning a memory location to each subscriber via a temporary subscriber number (4-byte TMSI). The invention uses an internal structure for the TMSI which consists of several logically independent elements which, on the one hand, permit as large an addressing range as possible and, on the other hand, preclude any confusion of data records or any identification of the subscriber. In addition, the TMSI is constantly changed. With a 32-bit TMSI, up to 10.sup.6 subscribers can be unambiguously addressed.

Abstract: A method for driving printing elements of a dot matrix printer provides that the matrix dots to be printed are to be thinned out without any thin lines, in particular steeply inclined thin lines, being lost. To this end, the columns of the matrix are considered to be arranged next to each other in pairs, and before the matrix dots in each line (Z) of the matrix are thinned out, a matrix dot is placed before or after a matrix dot used initially to create the character, so that both matrix dots belonging to a pair of columns (SP1, SP5) are covered by a line (Z). During the subsequent thinning out, the lines are printed sufficiently well and clearly. The process is intended for use in dot matrix printers.
Abstract: A cleaning composite for optical and magneto-optical storage disks includes a rectangular strip of a textile or fabric cloth composed of a material capable of absorbing a cleaning liquid; and a rectangularly shaped plastic film; wherein the strip of the textile or fabric cloth and the plastics film are connected to one another along opposite narrow sides. Preferably the strip and the plastics film have the same size. The strip includes a fluff-free clean-room material produced from filament yarn. The strip and the plastics film are thermally bonded to one another along their narrow sides or are adhesively bonded to one another by means of a self-adhesive tape along adhesive strips along their narrow sides.
Abstract: A respirator has a bypass gas flow and respective valves in the inspiration and expiration lines for setting the gas flow through these lines. A control unit actuates the valves so that a respiratory cycle is produced and such that the bypass gas flow is maintained during expiration. The expiration pressure is identified by a pressure sensor. When this expiration pressure falls below a prescribed value, a new inspiration phase is triggered. To improve this triggering, the patient gas flow is identified by a flow meter, and the prescribed pressure value is varied dependent on the identified patient gas flow.

Abstract: This invention relates to a device for determining lateral and/or vertical deviations in the path taken by a wheel at railway points or crossings. One of the aims of this invention is to provide data on the condition of such points or crossings, particularly as to the degree of their wear. Further, it is another aim of the invention to create a device which is easier to relate the signals from the sensors to the direction of the loads giving rise to these signals, and which at the same time is simpler and more economical to assembly while at the same time ensuring reproduceable results.
