Abstract: A nuclear power plant includes a containment for containing activity carriers. An outlet in the form of an excess pressure safety device leads out of the containment. A filter connects the outlet to the atmosphere. The filter includes a container, a washing fluid disposed in the container, a Venturi scrubber being integrated in the container and connected to the outlet, the container having an upper region with a gas outlet, and a stack connected to the gas outlet.
Abstract: An upper fixed plate (3) can have an annular fixed plate (4) attached, where both are disposed at the lower end of a work arm (1) of an industrial robot. A spring-supported receiver disk (5) with an attachment ring (5a) for a gripper (2) can be supported on the upper fixed plate (3) and on the annular fixed plate (4). The upper fixed plate (3) and the annular fixed plate (4) each can have four engagement-catch recesses for ball-shaped locking elements (6). The engagement-catch recesses can be of conical shape and can have an opening angle of about 120 degrees and can have a depth of about 3 mm. In addition, the upper fixed plate (3) can be provided with two centering bores (3c) for motion-limiting pins (9). The motion-limiting pins (9) protrude into the motion-limiting bores (5c) of the spring-supported receiver disk 5. Next to the motion-limiting bores are disposed threaded bores (5b) with a threaded socket ( 7) for the ball-shaped locking element (6).
Abstract: After a dyeing operation has been concluded, the hot dyeing liquor present in the piece dyeing jet is returned via a cooling heat exchanger in the dyeing circulation system back into the makeup storage vessel for the dyeing liquor. Thereafter, the liquor-free dyeing system, which is still under an elevated static pressure, is relieved to atmospheric whereby the dyeing system is cooled down adiabatically together with the dyed textile material present therein to such an extent that a sample can be taken therefrom rapidly and safely.

Abstract: Method for coating continuously moving substrates by the deposition of compounds from the gas phase by means of plasma discharge, produced by an electrode, with a chemical reaction, a system of magnets for the generation of a magnetic trap to constrict the plasma being disposed on one side of the substrate. The objective is to be accomplished by limiting the action of the plasma and the chemical reaction to the immediate vicinity of the system of magnets. For this purpose, the surface of the substrate to be coated is held at a distance "S.sub.1 " from the electrode, which is less than the dark-space distance that arises under the specified process conditions. Moreover, the magnetic trap is adjusted so that it passes through the substrate and is closed over the surface of the substrate to be coated and moreover in such a manner, that the constricted plasma is maintained on the surface of the substrate that is to be coated.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a chemically sensitive component including an optical filter that reversibly changes color or transparency in response to a gas or vapor to be determined or detected. The optical filter comprises a mixture of a basic or acid color former or dye of the triphenyl methane system and a complementary acid or basic compound which may be embedded in a matrix and/or applied as a coating to a carrier. The optical filter's change in color or transparency can be measured photoelectronically, e.g., with a luminescent diode as a light source and a photodiode or a phototransistor as a light detector.

Abstract: New arthropodicidal synergistic mixtures comprising the known active compounds (I) the pyrethroid: .alpha.-cyano-3-phenoxy-4-fluoro-benzyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-dichlorovinyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate or .alpha.-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-dibromovinyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate (decamethrine) and (II) 0,0-dimethyl 0-2,2-dichlorovinyl phosphate (dichlorvos) and (III), if desired, 0-isopropoxyphenyl N-methylcarbamate (propoxur). The novel mixtures are particularly suitable for use in aerosols and oil sprays.
Abstract: Process and apparatus are provided for the batchwise wet treatment of textile material with an aqueous liquor that contains dyestuff or other textile processing products according to an exhaust technique. Textile material in continuous loop form is recirculated in a jet dyeing machine, and a recirculating gas stream propels the material. A blower recirculates the gas stream while aqueous liquor is metered into the stream by aspirating the liquor at the upstream side of the blower. The action of the blower finely disperses the liquor within the gas stream.

Abstract: Acid halides of the formula (R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3)C--CO--Hal are obtained by reacting alkyl halides of the formula (R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3)C--Hal with carbon monoxide under a pressure of 5 to 1,000 bar and at a temperature of -20.degree. C. to +100.degree. C. in the presence of 0.001 to 0.3 mol of AlCl.sub.3 and/or FeCl.sub.3, if appropriate in the presence of a further Bronsted or Lewis acid, per mol of the alkyl halide. The process is carried out, if desired in the presence of a solvent which is customary for Friedel-Crafts or Friedel-Crafts-related reactions and, if appropriate in the presence of a hydrogen halide. The acid chloride can be isolated from the reaction mixture or further reacted.
Abstract: Novel fungicidally active decahydronaphth-2-yl-alkylamines of the formula ##STR1## in which A represents optionally substituted decahydronaphth-2-yl andR.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and represent alkyl or alkenyl, orR.sup.1 and R.sup.2, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bound, represent an optionally substituted, saturated heterocycle which may contain further hetero atoms, or a plant-tolerated acid-addition salts thereof.
Abstract: In a DPCM coder respective estimated values are subtracted from digitized picture element signals and estimated errors are used for signal transmission after quantization and coding. Each estimated value is derived from a reconstructed picture element signal formed in an adder. Separate, simultaneous subtractions of the signal taken at the output of the adder, as well as of the positive and negative adder limit values, from the respective picture element signal at the input thereby occur, whereby an overflow recognition device and a multiplexer provide that only the difference from the three differences formed up to this point are taken into consideration for quantization on the basis of the actual addition result, including no overflow, positive overflow and negative overflow.

Abstract: Optical waveguides of plastic usually consist of a core and a jacket, the core material having a higher refractive index than the jacket material. A suitable core material is a fluorine-free polymer and a suitable jacket material is a fluorine-containing polymer, which can also contain deuterium. The optical waveguides can be produced by passing a polymer rod through a solution of the jacket polymer and then removing the solvent. The optical waveguides are particularly suitable for the transmission of data with the aid of light waves with a wavelength of 500 to 750 nm.

Abstract: A component for surface mounting is fixed by means of adhesive to a surface of a member. For improving the adhesion, the fixable surface of the component includes a structure which makes it possible, first, for this fixable surface to lie flush against the surface of the member. Second, the structure of the fixable surface also makes it possible for a quantity of adhesive adequate for fixing to remain between the fixable surface of the component and the surface of the member.
