  • Publication number: 20130243996
Abstract: The invention relates to a floor panel comprising a carrier layer, a wear layer made of a soft/resilient material, and at least two opposite pairs of locking edges, where at least the locking edges of one pair are designed as form-fitting edges and in such a way that two floor panels can be connected by means of these formfitting edges, and where the form-fitting edges each display a horizontal locking surface which, in connected state, together counteract separation of the floor panels in a direction lying in the floor plane and perpendicular to the form-fitting edges, where each form-fitting edge displays a joint-sealing area in the area of the soft/resilient wear layer, and where the horizontal locking surfaces and the joint-sealing areas are coordinated in such a way that, in connected state of two floor panels, initial compression of the joint-sealing areas against each other can be produced and, as a result, a tightly sealed joint in the area of the soft/resilient wear layer.

  • Patent number: 8381476
Abstract: A panel with a working surface and four edges of which oppositely disposed pairs of edges have corresponding holding profiles so similar panels are connectable. Holding profiles of a first pair of edges are connectable by angular movement into interlocking relationship Holding profiles of a second pair of edges are hook elements, which are connectable to similar adjacent panels by joining movement provided a hook element is a separate vertical locking element projecting toward joining movement of the hook elements. During joining, the vertical locking element is movable out of the path of joining movement and when hooked, the hook elements are movable toward the joining movement by spring action. When dismantling, connected panels are unlockable from hooked and vertically locked condition by pivoting about an axis near the hooked edges and toward an unlocking position. The working surfaces, when unlocked, are less than 180° relative to each other.

  • Publication number: 20120073235
Abstract: The apparatus mounts a locking element into a groove in an edge of a panel. An advance device feeds a stream of locking elements to a pressing device which mounts the locking elements into the groove on the edge of the panel. The locking elements are fed from a line of locking elements stored on a reel. A separating device cuts the line of locking elements into individual locking elements. The separating device is positioned either upstream of the advancing device or immediately upstream of the pressing device. When the separating device is immediately upstream of the pressing device, a spring is used to flex the stream during the short stoppage when the separating device separates individual locking elements from the line of locking elements.

  • Patent number: 7856789
Abstract: The method for laying and interlocking the panels uses panels with complementary, formfitting retaining profiles extending over the length of the sides. The complementary edges of the panels allow two adjacent panels to be positively joined such that displacement of the panels away from one another is prevented, while enabling articulation of the panels with respect to one another at the joint location. The method of installation provides for installing a new panel to a first row and a panel in a second row by first joining the new panel to the panel of the second row at its short side, followed by pivoting the new panel upwards out of the plane of the laid panels along its long side, along with at least the adjacent end of the first panel in the second row, into an inclined position, and sliding the new panel into the retaining profile of the panels in the first row. The new panel and the raised end of the panel in the second row are then pivoted down into the plane of the laid panels.
