  • Patent number: 5253502
Abstract: An apparatus for bending and forming sheet metal into U-shaped channel members is comprised of a support block for supporting a blank of sheet metal in a centered position, a pair of rollers that engage in rolling contact against opposite ends of the sheet metal, and an anvil around which the sheet metal blank is formed into the U-shaped channel member. The sheet metal blank is formed over opposite sides of the anvil by the rollers engaging in rolling contact against the opposite ends of the sheet metal blank. As the rollers roll over the opposite ends of the sheet metal blank, they bend and form the sheet metal ends into channel bends having acute interior angles. When the rollers are removed from the sheet metal ends, the resiliency of the sheet metal causes the channel bends to spring back from their acute angle configurations to right angle configurations.

  • Patent number: 5221183
Abstract: An improved blower housing is constructed of a pair of end walls and a sidewall joined by a seam extending around at least portions of the peripheral edges of the end walls, wherein the seam is formed in two sections positioned at an angle relative to each other, the angle dividing the seam sections extending around the seam. The angle formed between the two seam sections improves the ability of the seam to resist relative movement between the sidewall and the two end walls of the blower housing due to vibrations of the sidewall and two end walls during blower operations. The seam also enables a blower housing to be constructed from a coated sidewall and a pair of coated end walls without the need for spot welds or screws along the seam joining the sidewall and end walls. What is meant by coated is a prepainted, galvanized or aluminized wall. The particular seam construction also enables the sidewall to be joined to the pair of end walls without deforming the end walls.

  • Patent number: 5220885
Abstract: A portable litter box for a cat or other domesticated animal comprises a housing having upper and lower sections detachably securable to provide a substantially closed container. The sections are stackable or nestable for storage, shipping and/or display. Preferably, the upper section includes an opening for ingress and egress to the housing and a carrying handle for the box as well as means for holding a freshener; the lower section may include skid resistant feet. Pins are provided for detachably securing the sections together in assembly.

  • Patent number: 5139139
Abstract: A paint tray for application of paint to tools used in fine detailing, such as pads, rollers, brushes and the like. The paint tray includes two troughs, one disposed on either side of an inclined ramp in an end of the tray and intermediate the side walls of the tray. Each trough is in fluid communication with a well in the opposite end of the tray. The volume of the troughs provide stability to the paint tray when loaded with paint and facilitate application of paint to tools which require small amounts of paint. An applicator is rotatably mounted within the tray to extend into the well for application of paint to painting pads. The applicator may be cylindrical or beveled. The tray may be combined with various tools which are disposed within the well and troughs and upon the ramp to form a kit for use in trimming.

  • Patent number: 5101693
Abstract: A tool for stripping tubular insulation off of a wire without contacting the wire comprises a hollow body in the shape of a pistol having a nose at one end with an aperture upon a longitudinal axis, adapted to axially receive an insulated wire to be stripped, a pistol grip and a trigger pivotally mounted within the body, which includes a fixed jaw. An upper jaw overlies the fixed jaw, extends into and is pivotally mounted upon the body and terminates in a jaw arm. A resilient wire stripper is operably nested and retained between the jaws and includes a pair of opposed outwardly biased support arms terminating in a pair of opposed spaced transversely slotted blade mounting heads with co-planar blades secured within the heads having opposed semi-circular openings at their meeting edges of a radius slightly greater than the radius of the wire.

  • Patent number: 5020676
Abstract: A two-part, ring-like, hook-on protector device provides a secure but easily removable mounting at spaced locations along heavy pipe or casing members that are normally stacked in a horizontal lengthwise extending relation for storage and shipment to oil and gas well drilling and operating locations. The device, of two-part, pivoted together construction and circular shape, is formed of tough elastomer material whose parts are of complementary interfitting construction devised to assure a substantially equally spaced, stacked relation between adjacent pipe members to both protect the members along their lengths as well as any threaded ends and collars. It has a maximum unitized strength and a space-retaining resistance to deformation with respect to radially applied forces thereon when several devices are mounted in a lengthwise spaced relation along a pipe member that is in a stacked relation with adjacent members. It employs two solid, stress-absorbing pivoted-together, semicircular pairs, halves or arms.
