  • Patent number: 4852520
Abstract: A portable pet carrier having a lower section and a removable upper section attached thereto. The lower section has a bottom wall, spaced side walls, a rear wall and a front wall with an access opening, and the upper section has a top wall, spaced side walls, a rear wall and a front wall with an access opening. The upper section and the lower section are attached by clips which extend through aligned openings in horizontal lips extending outwardly from the edges of the walls of both sections. A gate is pivotally mounted in the access openings in the front walls of the upper section and the lower section, and a latch is located on the gate for retaining the gate in the closed position. A plurality of rollers are carried on the exterior of the bottom wall of the lower section, and lifting and towing handles are pivotally attached to the exterior of the top wall of the upper section for moving the portable pet carrier.

  • Patent number: 4796801
Abstract: A container having an open end so that a part of an article in the container can be seen and touched. The container is formed from a single planar sheet having two portions. The first portion of the planar sheet is rectangular in shape and includes a plurality of main panels and a terminal panel with laterally extending perforations along the inner edges. The second portion of the planar sheet is attached to a free edge of one of the main panels of the first portion of the planar sheet along a perforation and forms an end member to close one end of the container when it is assembled. A series of elongated openings are located along the perforation at the inner edge of the terminal panels of the first portion of the planar sheet and a series of corresponding tabs are located along the free edge of the main panel at the other end of the planar sheet.

  • Patent number: 4632494
Abstract: A self-propelled, linear-forwardly, relatively slow-moving irrigating apparatus has a main frame and master drive unit carrying a rotating, water-supplying, pipe-like, axle shaft that provides a side-extending wheel-line along which are spaced what may be termed power, booster and wheeled spray units that enable a large area of ground crop to be irrigated at one time. Longitudinally spaced-apart hydrants are provided along the length of the field that is to be irrigated to detachably receive a flexible water-supplying hose that is also detachably carried by the main frame. The apparatus has automatic means for maintaining the main frame and the wheel-line in an aligned forwardly advancing relation, for stopping forward movement when a serious obstruction is encountered and when the desired full extent of its advance along a side-extending anchored guide cable has been attained.

  • Patent number: 4549337
Abstract: A composite dual wall cast urethane elastomer to metal thread protector that will be practical under normal as well as frigid temperature conditions of usage is formed by deep drawing a seamless metal shell wall, using a threaded die to define a mold cavity with the metal shell wall, forming and setting a synthetic elastomeric shell wall within the mold cavity in an adhering assembled relation with and along the metal shell wall with threading that is complementary with threading of the die, removing the assembly by unscrewing it with respect to the threaded die, and subjecting the assembly to heat treatment to cure the elastomeric shell wall and provide a composite protector having a cast urethane elastomer wall in a secure adhering encapsulating relation on the metal shell wall.

  • Patent number: 4493201
Abstract: A strong, seamless one-piece metal bottle of substantially uniform wall thickness for containing and dispensing gas under pressure is produced from a flat metal piece by a series of deep-drawing operations to provide an elongated cylindrical shell having an open end mouth and a slight flange thereabout. A dimple is formed in its bottom end wall. The flange and an adjacent cylindrical open end mouth portion of the shell is then severed from the main body, and the wall thickness of the new open end mouth portion is tapered from the cylindrical side wall of the shell towards its mouth edge. Thereafter, the tapered open mouth end portion is turned or swaged inwardly into a somewhat blunt, rounded-in nose portion of a substantially uniform thickness that substantially corresponds in the thickness to the side and bottom walls of the formed metal bottle and that has an open end of reduced size suitable for mounting a nipple, ferrule or valve fitting therein.
