Abstract: A system is configured to replicate events to be processed by service regions. The system implements an event bus service that hosts an event bus in respective ones of a plurality of regions. The event bus service is configured to receive, at the event bus in a secondary region of the plurality of regions, a replicated indication of an event that is replicated from the event bus in a primary region of the plurality of regions. The event bus service determines, at the event bus in the secondary region, whether the primary region has completed processing of the event. Based on a determination that the primary region has not completed processing of the event within the pre-determined time period, the event bus service processes the event according to the replicated indication and indicates, in the replication record, that the secondary region has completed processing of the event.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for to detecting anomalies in various forms of data, including non-time series data. In one example, a data ingestion interval for customer data may be determined, where the data ingestion interval specifies a frequency at which data is analyzed to detect analogies in portions of the data corresponding to time windows. A portion of the customer data may then be obtained and aggregated from a data source according to the data ingestion interval. The portion of data may be converted into time series data by appending a time stamp corresponding to the time window of the portion of the data. The anomaly detection service may then process the time series data, using a time series data anomaly model, to detect one or more anomalies in the time series data.

Abstract: One or more indications may be received of a decision to allow an access of a computing resource by an identity. A plurality of relevant policies may be determined whose permissions are evaluated as inputs to the decision to allow. One or more explicit allow policies of the plurality of relevant access permission policies may be determined that explicitly allow the access. At least one explicit allow indication may be provided of at least one of the one or more explicit allow policies. One or more acceptable properties of the plurality of relevant access permission policies may be determined that do not need to be modified to change the decision to allow the access. One or more acceptability indications may be provided of the one or more acceptable properties.

Abstract: Techniques are described for facilitating client-side augmented reality overlay of secondary content during live events. Regions for overlaying secondary content are identified along with attributes for each region. A client device may then used the attributes to overlay secondary content in each region prior to playback.

Abstract: Voice customization is an application of voice synthesis that involves synthesizing speech having certain voice characteristics, and/or modifying the voice characteristics of human speech. Certain techniques for voice customization may be used in conjunction with compressing speech for storage and/or transmission. For example, speech may be received at a first device and transformed into a latent representation and/or compressed for storage and/or transmission to a second device. The system may use normalizing flows to transform the source audio to a latent representation having a desired variable distribution, and to transform the latent representation back into audio data. A flow model may conditioned using first speech attributes when transforming the source audio, and an inverse flow model may use second speech attributes when transforming the latent representation back into audio data. The first and/or second speech attributes may be modified to alter voice characteristics of the transmitted speech.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for orchestration of computations using a remote repository are disclosed. A representation of one or more inputs to a computation is stored in a repository. The computation is assigned to one or more hosts of a plurality of hosts. A representation of program code executable to perform the computation is stored in the repository. A local copy of the one or more inputs is stored on the one or more hosts. The computation is initiated on the one or more hosts using the program code and the local copy of the one or more inputs. The computation is initiated for a plurality of keys. The computation succeeds for one or more keys after the computation has failed for one or more other keys. A representation of one or more outputs of the computation is stored in the repository.

Abstract: An interface of a certificate management system acts as a target for management of digital authentication certificates from a group of candidate certificate authorities. Entities make certificate signing requests on behalf of subjects. The requests are received at an interface that appears to the requesting entities as a sole source of the signed certificates. But a certificate management component that processes the requests received by the interface applies a selection technique to select a particular certificate authority from a group of candidate certificate authorities available to sign the certificates. The certificate management component forwards the request to the particular certificate authority, receives back the signed certificate, and responds to the certificate signing request with the signed certificate. Although the certificate signing requests were all made via a same interface, the signed certificates can have different chains of trust. Various criteria may be used for the selection.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for selecting audio content for a content entity in audio-visual content are described. An example technique involves identifying at least one content entity associated with a content item that is accessible to one or more users in a first language over a communication network. One or more attributes of the at least one content entity are determined. A plurality of audio content samples in a second language are obtained. Each audio content sample includes a different audio sample of a portion of speech of the content entity in the second language. A first audio content sample that satisfies a predetermined condition is determined, based on the plurality of audio content samples and the one or more attributes of the at least one content entity. An indication of the first audio content sample is provided.

Abstract: A technique for performing a tensor operation includes inputting concatenated data words of a first input tensor and concatenated data words of a second input tensor into a compute channel having a plurality of compute stages coupled in series. The concatenated data words of the first input tensor and the second input tensor represented in a first datatype can be converted into data elements represented in a second datatype using a first subset of the compute stages. A binary operation can be performed on each data element represented in the second datatype from the first input tensor with a corresponding data element represented in the second datatype from the second input tensor to generate output data elements of an output tensor represented in the second datatype using a second subset of the compute stages. The output data elements of the output tensor can then be outputted from the compute channel.

Abstract: A transaction request compliant with a first version of a journal schema of a multi-data-store storage system is received at a journal manager. The journal schema indicates attributes of data objects which may be materialized at various data stores of the system. The journal manager stores an entry in the system's journal if the transaction meets acceptance criteria. Writes indicated in the entry are materialized at the data stores after verifying that the entry is compliant with the journal schema. After verifying that member data stores have approved a proposed change to the journal schema, another entry indicating a different version of the journal schema is added to the journal. Client-side components of the system obtain the current version of the journal schema to prepare the transaction requests.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, systems for enabling physical retail stores and other facilities to implement both automated- and manual-checkout techniques for customers of the stores and/or facilities. For example, the described systems may enable a retail store to implement technology where users are able to pick items from shelves and other inventory locations and exit the store without performing manual checkout of the items, as well as technology to allow users to pay for their items using point-of-sale (POS) and/or other manual-checkout techniques. The systems described herein also generate associations between users and carts within the stores to prevent fraudulent transactions within these hybrid environments.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for a surveying and navigation system that includes reflectors designed to both (1) facilitate surveying of a facility area using a three-dimensional (3D) light detection and ranging (LiDAR) scanner and (2) enable guidance of an automated guided vehicle (AGV) within the facility area. The reflectors are designed to include at least one surface section that is free of a highly reflective surface (e.g., retro-reflective) that is used to guide the AGVs within a facility. When a reflector is scanned by the surveying during a surveying phase, the surface section of the reflector surface that is free of the reflective surface scatters the light associated with the scan. The corresponding scattered data can be used to discern the shape of the reflector thereby enabling an accurate determination of the reflector location coordinates for surveying.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for an improved method for performing sound source localization (SSL) to determine a direction of arrival of an audible sound using a combination of timing information and amplitude information. For example, a device may decompose an observed sound field into directional components, then estimate a time-delay likelihood value and an energy-based likelihood value for each of the directional components. Using a combination of these likelihood values, the device can determine the direction of arrival corresponding to a maximum likelihood value. In some examples, the device may perform Acoustic Wave Decomposition processing to determine the directional components. In order to reduce a processing consumption associated with performing AWD processing, the device splits this process into two phases: a search phase that selects a subset of a device dictionary to reduce a complexity, and a decomposition phase that solves an optimization problem using the subset of the device dictionary.

Abstract: Applications may execute using resources from multiple environments or ecosystems, such as may include virtual resources from a virtual resource environment hosted on physical resources of a cloud provider environment. An event manager in the cloud provider environment can obtain virtualization performance data from the virtual resource environment, as well as performance data from within the cloud provider environment. This data can be fed to an inference engine that can correlate information from the separate environments, and these correlations can be used to generate recommendations for performance adjustments in either the physical or virtual resource environment.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for elevators for material handling shuttles. In one embodiment, an example system configured to change elevation of a shuttle may include an elevator track disposed between a loading zone and an unloading zone, and a platform coupled to the elevator track and configured to move between the loading zone and the unloading zone. The platform may be configured to engage with a lower surface of the shuttle at the loading zone. The platform may be configured to lift the shuttle off a first set of rails at the loading zone, and to position the shuttle onto a second set of rails at the unloading zone.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for outputting indications regarding voice-based interactions are described. A first speech-controlled device detects spoken audio corresponding to recipient information. The first device captures the audio and sends audio data corresponding to the captured audio to a server. The server determines a second speech-controlled device of the recipient and sends a signal to the recipient's second speech-controlled device representing a message is forthcoming. The recipient's second speech-controlled device outputs and indication representing a message is forthcoming.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for analysis of role reachability with transitive tags are disclosed. An access control analyzer determines a graph including nodes and edges. The nodes represent roles in a provider network hosting resources. The roles are associated with access control policies granting or denying access to individual resources. One or more of the access control policies grant or deny access based (at least in part) on key-value attributes. The access control analyzer determines, based (at least in part) on a role reachability analysis of the graph, whether a first role can assume a second role using role assumption steps for a particular state of the attributes. The attributes may include transitive attributes that persist during the role assumption steps.

Abstract: A first set of network addresses of a first address family, and a second set of network addresses of a second address family, are assigned to a virtual machine. At a routing device, respective routing information entries for the two sets of network addresses are stored, without storing routing information entries for individual addresses of the sets. A first packet with a destination address within the first set, routed using the routing information entry for the first set, is obtained at the virtual machine. A second packet with a destination address within the second set, routed using the routing information entry for the second set, is obtained at the virtual machine.

Abstract: An antenna assembly includes a housing and first and second antennas enclosed within the housing. The first antenna provides a first radiation pattern oriented for wireless communication with a cloud-based network. The second antenna provides a second radiation pattern that is oriented different than the first radiation pattern and is oriented for wireless communication with a portable user device.
