  • Patent number: 10460137
Abstract: A method of interrogating a plurality of RFID tags comprises interrogating a first RFID tag with a read command comprising a masking value for a predefined portion of a User Memory Bank of the first RFID tag. The predefined portion stores state information for the first RFID tag. The masking value corresponds to a non-quiesced state relative to the read command interrogation. The method further comprises receiving a response from the first RFID tag that indicates that the first RFID tag is in the non-quiesced state. The method further comprises interrogating the first RFID tag with a write command that instructs the first RFID tag to write a predefined value to the predefined portion of the User Memory Bank, wherein writing the predefined value to the predefined portion places the first RFID tag in a quiesced state relative to a subsequent read command interrogation comprising the masking value.

  • Patent number: 10460759
Abstract: Technologies are provided for partially updating shingled magnetic recording (SMR) zones in SMR storage devices. An SMR storage device can receive and process a command to update a write pointer for an SMR zone to point to an arbitrary write position within the SMR zone. A partial SMR zone update command can be received and processed to modify part of the data stored in the SMR zone. A write position within the SMR zone where data to be modified is stored can be identified. Data stored in the SMR zone following the identified write position can be read to a temporary location and modified. A write pointer for the SMR zone can be updated to point to the identified write position. The modified data can then be written to the SMR zone, starting at the write position identified by the write pointer, or to another SMR zone of the storage device.

  • Patent number: 10459755
Abstract: Generally described, aspects of the present disclosure relate to for managing the configuration and security policies of hosted virtual machine networks. Hosted virtual machine networks are configured in a manner such that a virtual machine manager component can establish service manifests that correspond to information required by the virtual machine network from a user/customer. The virtual machine manager component can also publish in the service manifests contractual information, such as security risk assessments, that are deemed to have been provided and accepted by the user/customer in instantiating virtual machine networks. If the processed service manifest information remains valid, a substrate network process requests or independently instantiate services or components in accordance with the configuration information and security risk information included in the processed service manifest.

  • Patent number: 10461991
Abstract: A distributed database system may comprise a master computing node and one or more replication peer nodes. Upon identifying a failure of one of the nodes, a control plane may obtain a computing node instance and configure the computing node instance to act as a log-only peer to the remaining nodes. The log-only peer may store the log tail of the master computing node and may participate in quorum decisions. Upon restoration of the failed node, the log-only peer may be returned to the pool of computing node instances.

  • Patent number: 10460719
Abstract: An interactive system may be implemented in part by an audio device located within a user environment, which may accept speech commands from a user and may also interact with the user by means of generated speech. In order to improve performance of the interactive system, a user may use a separate device, such as a personal computer or mobile device, to access a graphical user interface that lists details of historical speech interactions. The graphical user interface may be configured to allow the user to provide feedback and/or corrections regarding the details of specific interactions.

  • Patent number: 10462604
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for managing which location-based service zones to monitor when the number location-based service zones within a geographic region exceed the amount the device can support. An active zone defining a geographic region and location-based service zones within the geographic region is provided by another computing device. When the number of location-based service zones meets or exceeds a predefined threshold, a subset of the location-based service zones is selected for monitoring according to a current device location and/or other parameters.

  • Patent number: 10460278
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for registration of destination identifiers to be used in lieu of geographic addresses. In one embodiment, a user specification of a destination identifier is received. It is determined that the destination identifier is available for registration. A user request is received to register the destination identifier as associated with a geographic address. The destination identifier is registered in response to the user request by creating a stored mapping between the destination identifier and the geographic address.

  • Patent number: 10459876
Abstract: A processing element (PE) of a systolic array can perform neural networks computations in parallel on two or more sequential data elements of an input data set using the same weight. Thus, two or more output data elements corresponding to an output data set may be generated in parallel. Based on the size of the input data set and an input data type, the systolic array can process a single data element or multiple data elements in parallel.

  • Patent number: 10462057
Abstract: A computing resource service provider may provide customers with access to various services provided by a set of service endpoints. During certain intervals of time increased network traffic may cause an increase in the consumption of computing resources of the set of service endpoints. A throttling trigger may be detected that may cause one or more routing devices to reroute network traffic to one or more lower tier routing devices. The lower tier routing devices may maintain throttling information and forward network traffic to the set of service endpoints.

  • Patent number: 10459655
Abstract: Generally described, one or more aspects of the present application correspond to a highly distributed replica of a volume stored in a networked elastic computing environment. First and second replicas of the volume can be synchronously replicated, and some implementations of the tertiary replica can be asynchronously replicated. The highly distributed nature of the tertiary replica supports parallel data transfer of the data of the volume, resulting in faster creation of backups and new copies of the volume.

  • Patent number: 10460004
Abstract: Time to live (“TTL”) values are determined based on one or more factors. The TTL values may be included in responses to requests for resources, thereby affecting the frequency of subsequent requests. This dynamic determination of TTL values may provide resilience to system load, for example by using longer TTL values when the system is under greater load in order to reduce the rate at which subsequent requests are received. A dynamic TTL service may calculate a TTL value based on one or more factors, such as overall system load, resource load, hardware load, and/or software load. In various embodiments, a dynamic TTL service may act natively within a service, within a system framework, as a proxy, as a cluster, and/or as a broker.
