Patent number: 9838976Abstract: Interference caused by a first wireless radio on other wireless radios may be mitigated by reducing the transmission power of the first wireless radio. The amount by which the transmission power is reduced may differ for each antenna of the first wireless radio and each communication link used by the first wireless radio. Isolation values associated with each antenna of the first wireless radio may be used to determine a target change in transmission power for each antenna that would mitigate interference with the other radio(s). Signal strength data associated with each communication link used by the first wireless radio may be used to determine a maximum change in transmission power for each communication link that would not degrade communications using the link below a threshold level of quality. The transmission power of the first wireless radio may be reduced by the lesser of the target amount or maximum amount.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2017Date of Patent: December 5, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Milos Jorgovanovic

Publication number: 20170347499Abstract: A data center includes heat producing components and an air handling system that provides reduced relative humidity air to cool the heat producing components. The air handling system includes a thermal storage unit that removes thermal energy from incoming air under a given set of ambient air conditions and releases thermal energy into incoming air under another set of ambient air conditions. Under the given set of ambient air conditions, the thermal storage unit cools the incoming air and causes water vapor to condense out of the incoming air. Under the other set of ambient air conditions, the thermal storage unit releases thermal energy into the incoming air, thus heating the incoming air.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2017Publication date: November 30, 2017Applicant: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Peter George Ross, Osvaldo P. Patent number: 9829333Abstract: Features are disclosed for providing guidance regarding robotic traffic density to humans working in the same physical area as robots. Through analysis of the planned and/or historical routes of the robotic traffic, traffic densities can be identified for the physical area. Patent number: 9830449Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining a location in an on-demand code execution environment to execute user-specified code. Virtual machines can be utilized to isolate different executions of code from one another. However, virtual machines require additional computing resources to implement, and may slow code executions. This disclosure enables multiple items of code, potentially associated with different users, to be executed on a single virtual machine instance or other device. Specifically, the present disclosure enables the generation of a risk profile for an item of code, which can be used to determine the security or privacy risk that would occur by executing the code on a device. By comparing the risk profiles of a given item of code to other items of code executing on a device, the on-demand code execution environment can selectively group code executions, thus increasing the efficiency of the system while maintaining security and privacy.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2015Date of Patent: November 28, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Timothy Allen Wagner
