Abstract: A locking mechanism includes a tray to receive a hard disk drive and a locking apparatus. The locking apparatus includes a base attached to a front wall of the tray, a handle pivotally connected to the base, and a locking member attached to the base. The base defines a receiving chamber and a mounting hole in communication with the receiving chamber. The locking member includes a sliding portion slidably received in the receiving chamber of the base to impel the handle to pivot relative to the base, and a locking tongue attached to the sliding portion. Movement of the locking tongue relative to the mounting hole causes the locking mechanism to toggle between a locked and unlocked position.

Abstract: An inrush current suppressing circuit connected between a power supply and a working circuit of an electronic device includes a first power supply circuit and a second power supply circuit both connected between the power supply and the working circuit. The first power supply circuit suppresses inrush current and forwards power from the power supply to the working circuit when the electronic device is powered on. The second power supply circuit forwards power from the power supply to the working circuit when the power supply reaches a predetermined voltage.

Abstract: A radio frequency (RF)-based communication terminal includes a first switching chip, a second switching chip, a comparison module, a low noise amplifier (LNA), a first filter, a power amplifier (PA), a second filter, and a control module. The comparison module compares the power of a radio signal Rx received from a base station with a pre-stored signal and to output a control signal according to the comparison result. The control module controls conductive modes of the first and the second switching chips according to the control signal. In the first conductive mode, a radio signal Tx is sent out from the PA and the second filter. In the second conductive mode, the radio signal Tx is exchanged to send out from the LNA and first filter.

Abstract: A dual-band antenna assembly is positioned on a substrate, and includes an insulation body, a plane antenna and a microstrip antenna. The insulation body includes a plane surface paralleled to the substrate, and a side surface perpendicularly extending from edges of the plane surface to the substrate. The plane antenna includes a first feed portion and a first radiator. The first feed portion passes through the substrate to the plane surface of the insulation body. The first radiator is substantially positioned on a center of the plane surface of the insulation body, and electrically connected to the first feed portion. The microstrip antenna includes a second feed portion and a second radiator. The second radiator is a microstrip, electrically connected to the second feed portion and positioned on the side surface of the insulation body.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a fan including a frame, an enclosure, and many fixing members engaged with the enclosure to fix the fan in the enclosure. The frame includes many mounting holes positioned in corners of the frame, respectively. The enclosure includes many sidewalls and many fixing members corresponding to the mounting holes. Each fixing member includes a base, a fixing portion extending from a top surface of the base, an angle shaped clasping portion extending from a sidewall of the base. Each base includes a locating block received in a corresponding locating member, and at least one fixing arms abuts against the corresponding locating member. Each fixing portion extends through the locating member and is received in a corresponding mounting hole. Each clasping portion extends through the corresponding locating member and clasps an inner wall of the corresponding mounting hole.

Abstract: A key assembly used in an electronic device includes a printed circuit board (PCB) including two optical couplers, a key body and a supporting assembly. The key body is rotatably supported on the PCB and includes a circular disk and a plurality of teeth. The plurality of teeth extend from periphery edge of the circular disk toward the PCB and are spaced apart from each other. The supporting assembly supports the key body on the PCB. When the key body is rotated, the plurality of teeth interact with the two optical couplers to generate one or more control signals to control corresponding one or more operations of the electronic device.

Abstract: A tracking detection and alarm method which is applied to a navigation device use a number of positioning data points retrieved from a navigation module of the navigation device. A number of deflections and a number of average speeds that correspond to the position data points are calculated and generated. A number of maximum deflections are calculated and generated according to the average speeds. When a deflection of a positioning data point is greater than a maximum safe deflection thereof, one is added to a frequency of unsafe driving instances. When the frequency of unsafe driving instances is greater than a preset threshold value, an unsafe driving alarm is activated.

Abstract: A network device connects a terminal device to the Internet using a plurality of connections. The network device obtains a quantity of different destination port numbers employed by the plurality of connections, calculates a ratio of the quantity of the different destination port numbers to a quantity of the connections, and determines that the connections include at least one point to point connection if the calculated ratio is larger than a predetermined ratio. The network device further determines that one of the connections is the point to point connection upon the condition that a communication protocol of the one of the connections is the transmission control protocol, that the destination port number of the one of the connections is larger than a predetermined port number, and that the average size of the packets of the one of the connections is larger than the predetermined size.

Abstract: A three-pole three-throw switch and a communication device employing the three-pole three-throw switch includes six diodes and six inductors. The six diodes are connected in series with a same direction. Common nodes of each two diodes form three poles and three throws. The three poles and the three throws are linked together in circular form. The three poles and the three throws receive control signals via the six inductor, respectively.

Abstract: An electric connector includes a female connector and a male connector. The female connector defines a first sliding groove, a second sliding groove parallel to the first sliding groove and a guiding slot communicating with the first sliding groove and the second sliding groove. The guiding slot includes a first guiding slot and a second guiding slot communicating the first guiding slot with the second sliding groove. The first sliding groove and the first guiding slot collectively form a step portion. The male connector includes a latching hook to engage with the first sliding groove and the second sliding groove. The latching hook slides along the first sliding groove to be received in the first guiding slot and resist on the step portion to combine the male connector with the female connector. The latching hook sides along the second guiding slot to release the male connector from the female connector.

Abstract: A meter receives a new communication frame from a power line, and determines whether the new communication frame is used to read power consumption of the meter. If the new communication frame is used to read power consumption of the meter, the meter generates a response frame of the new communication frame, and broadcasts the response frame to the concentrator via the power line to report the power consumption of the meter. If the new communication frame is not used to read power consumption of the meter, the meter broadcasts the new communication frame to the at least one other meter and the concentrator via the power line.

Abstract: In a method for establishing a dial up connection between a terminal device and a server, an inquiry packet is sent from the terminal device to a router to request parameters for establishing the dial-up connection when the terminal device dials the server. The terminal device monitors a response packet sent by the router and obtains the request parameters from the response packet, then the terminal device dials the server and sends a dial-up request packet to the server. The server assigns network connection information for the router when the dial-up request packet is received. After monitoring a feedback packet sent by the server, the terminal obtains the network connection information from the feedback packet, and updates configuration parameters of the router to establish the dial-up connection according to the network connection information.

Abstract: A method and system for providing conditional access (CA) between a headend and a receiver include scrambling media data of broadcast programs and encrypting control words according to a CA system used on the headend. The receiver includes a CA virtual machine. The receiver receives the broadcast program and encrypted control words, and determines whether the media data is scrambled. If the media data is scrambled, the CA virtual machine runs a CA instance matched with the CA system, gets entitled manage message (EMM), and determines whether CA algorithm identifier in the EMM matches with CA algorithm identifier of the CA instance. If the CA algorithm identifiers match, the encrypted control words are decrypted and the scrambled media data is descrambled. If the CA algorithm identifiers do not match, updated CA algorithm is downloaded and the CA instance which has updated its CA algorithm is run.

Abstract: In a router and a method of passing IPv6 data packets through the router, the router receives a data packet from a local area network or the wide area network. The router determines if the data packet is a IPv6 data packet or a non-IPv6 data packet . The router routes the data packet to a destination address via the network layer of the open system interconnect, upon the condition that the data packet is a non-IPv6 data packet; or bridges the data packet to the destination address via the data link layer, upon the condition the data packet is a IPv6 data packet.

Abstract: A wireless terminal roams from a first access point to a second access point. The wireless terminal can set a predetermined time period to determine whether to roam between different access points. Upon receiving signals from the second access point, the wireless terminal decodes signals received from the first access point and the second access point to get a correct probability of each bit of the signals. The wireless terminal then calculates mean values, a variance value and a difference in the mean values of the first access point and the second access point. If the difference in the mean value exceeds a product of the variance value and a roaming weight, the wireless terminal switches the wireless terminal from the first access point to the second access point to access the network.

Abstract: In an electronic device and method of matching an image A and an image B, grayscale centers of the image A and the image B are computed. The image A is divided into n equal parts Dk(k=1˜n) according to the grayscale center, and a grayscale density Vk of each part Dk is computed, to acquire n grayscale densities Dk(k=1˜n) which are regarded as feature data u of the image A. Feature data v of the image B are extracted in the similar way. A similarity of a grayscale density Vak selected from the feature data u and the grayscale density Vbk selected from the feature data V, is computed. Thus, n similarities are computed. A similarity ? (n, u, v) of the image A and the image B according to the n similarities.

Abstract: In a voice-controlled navigation device and method, a voice command is received, and divided into voice segments Vi (i=1˜n) by comparing with one or more keywords. A voice segment Vi (i=1˜n) is obtained in sequence to be compared with tree nodes in a search tree of place names. A weight value of each tree node is computed according to a comparison, to select one or more tree nodes whose weight values are greater than a predetermined value. Routes formed by all the selected tree nodes are obtained to select a route whose total weight value is the greatest. A navigation to a destination is given by indicating the selected route on an electronic map according to place names represented by the tree nodes of the selected route.

Abstract: A network device transmits and receives data packets between the network device and a network. The data packets includes information about a procedure needed in order to process the data packets. According to the information, the network device executes the procedure to process the data packets. If the time of the procedure has not been executed to process the data packets is more than a predetermined time and no other data packets are needed to be processed, the network device turns off the procedure automatically.

Abstract: In a voice recording equipment and method, voice data from a speaker is received using a microphone. Threshold values T1 and T2 of surrounding environment of the voice recording equipment are determined. If an intensity of the voice data is less than or equal to the threshold value T2, the voice recording is stopped and the speaker is informed that the voice data is not useful. If the intensity of the voice data is greater than the threshold values, the voice data is stored into a storage unit.

Abstract: A set top box transmits a connection request to a TV to request a number of response signals therefrom. The response signals are read when the TV is in a working state, and an idle signal is output if the response signals are not read in a predetermined time. State of the TV is determined according to the response signals or the idle signal, and the set top box is controlled to be in the working state according to the starting signal, or placed a sleeping/standby state according to the standby signal.
