    Abstract: A high-temperature connectorized thermocouple probe assembly for use in land gas turbine environments consistent with the present invention comprises a thermocouple junction having a plurality of conductors, a high temperature connector having at least one conductor, a length of cable having at least one conductor coupling at least one of the conductors of the thermocouple junction with at least one conductor of the high temperature connector; and a bushing disposed around the length of cable. In a further aspect, a land gas turbine system consistent with the present invention comprises a land gas turbine and a thermocouple probe assembly disposed at least partly within the land gas turbine, wherein the thermocouple probe assembly comprises a thermocouple junction and a high temperature connector coupled to the thermocouple junction, and wherein the thermocouple probe assembly is removably connected to, or is adapted for removable connection to, the land gas turbine via the high temperature connector.

Corner pieces connect the yoke sides to the bracket sides wherein the corner pieces are angularly directed between about 40° to about 50° with respect to the yoke sides and the bracket sides. A yoke extends inwardly from each yoke side to form an armature opening therebetween for rotatably receiving the armature assembly.

    Abstract: A bypass motor fan assembly having an integral vent cover retention clip includes a motor assembly having a motor bracket which carries at least a pair of motor brushes. A vent cover is coupled to the motor assembly and is retained by the clip. The integral clip is secured to the motor bracket for slidably retaining a motor brush and for retaining the vent cover to the motor bracket. The vent cover includes a pair of brush caps having a ledge and a downwardly extending rim. The integral clip includes a deflectable finger which is engaged by the ledge. The integral clip further includes a brush clamp having a top member, wherein the deflectable finger extends from the top member. The deflectable finger has a deflection section, wherein the rim initially engages the deflection section and the deflection section engages the ledge after the rim clears the deflection section. A method for assembling the vent cover to the motor assembly using the clip is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A bypass motor assembly includes a motor having a rotatable shaft, a working air fan secured to the rotatable shaft and a shroud having an intake eyelet and at least one exhaust apertures. The assembly includes an end bracket having a shaft hole through which the shaft extends. The end bracket and the shroud partially enclose the working air fan, wherein rotation of the working air fan draws air in through the intake eyelet and pushes the air through the plurality of exhaust apertures, the end bracket having a plurality of vanes that form a fan chamber that receives the working air fan such that air expelled by the working air fan is efficiently re-directed by the vanes toward the exhaust aperture. An air intake seal can be disposed between the shroud and the working air fan to further enhance the working air flow.

    Abstract: A closed-loop blower includes a blower assembly having a motorized fan that draws ambient air in through an inlet and exhausts air out an outlet. A control circuit is coupled to the motorized fan and a pressure sensing device near the outlet measures pressure of the exhaust air and generates a pressure signal. The control circuit receives the pressure signal and adjusts the speed of the motorized fan to obtain a desired pressure at the outlet. Temperature and motor speed readings may also be detected and input to the control circuit to adjust the speed of the motor and thus the fan. An input device may be provided to adjust the desired pressure values or the control circuit may be programmed with the desired value.

    Abstract: A blower assembly includes a rotor assembly having a shaft and a stator assembly coupled to the rotor assembly. A shrouded fan assembly is coupled to the shaft so as to generate an air flow when the shaft rotates. A unitary diffuser having a fan side opposite a motor side, is included wherein the fan side is coupled to the shrouded fan assembly. The unitary diffuser has ports for transferring the air flow from said fan side to said motor side. The motor side has a stator wall that partially encloses the stator assembly and the rotor assembly. An end cap is coupled to the stator wall for further enclosing the stator assembly and the rotor assembly. The assembly also includes a plurality of termination boxes disposed about the periphery of the stator wall for terminating the wire windings of the stator assembly. The end cap has at least one tab, and the stator wall has at least one tab receptacle that slidably receives the tab.

    Abstract: A fault detection circuit that includes a controllable switch coupling a power source to a load. Control circuitry is provided that determines if the switch is in the proper conduction state based on a switch control signal and a signal indicative of power delivered to the load. If the switch is determined as improperly closed (conducting), the control circuitry diverts energy delivered to the load through fuse circuitry, thereby blowing a fuse and decoupling the load from the power source. In preferred embodiments, logic circuitry determines the relative states of the control switch and the load and generates a control signal to divert energy away from the load and blow a fuse.

    Abstract: A foot operated apparatus for providing a switch closure to an external electrical circuit. The apparatus includes a housing having a switch mounted therein carrying a plunger actuated electrical contact moveable between two positions. A foot operated member is pivotally mounted on the housing about a pivot axis. The foot operated member has a first end spaced from the housing at a normal first position and disposed below the upper disposed pivot axis. The first end of the foot operated member is pivotal about the pivot axis spaced above the first end of the foot operated member toward the housing to a second position coincident with closure of the switch contact. An optional foot guard encloses the sides and top of the foot operated member. The foot guard allows the toe portion of a user's foot to slide therethrough in forward movement to pivot the first end of the foot engaging member to the second position coincident with closure of the switch contact.

In addition, a low temperature soldering material, such as a tin-bismuth soldering material, was used to affix the socket to the bourdon tube and the closure member to the bourdon tube. Preferably, the components contain substantially no free copper. Such a component resists corrosion, especially corrosion formed when certain fluids are used with such components.

    Abstract: A bearing protection assembly protects a motor having a rotating shaft. The motor includes a bearing carried on the shaft, having one side proximal the motor and one side distal the motor. A support member is positioned adjacent the bearing's distal side and disposed about the shaft. A retaining member is disposed about the shaft, the retaining member and the support member and forms an annular cavity about the shaft. A non-lubricated seal is captured and may be compressed in the annular cavity precludes migration of moisture toward the bearing along the shaft. The seal is preferably made of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. Alternative embodiments allow the seal to be positioned and secured in various ways with respect to the bearing.
