Abstract: A pan indexer for use with a moulder/panner with a gate and a conveyor, having a carrier for a cantilevered template with a spaced series of tangs for successively engaging and releasing pans on the conveyor when the template is moved up and down in synchronism with dough pieces being deposited through a gate from the moulder/panner to pans on the conveyor.
Abstract: A snap action slide switch concludes an improved spring detent means including resilient spring means on the contact carrier which stores energy and releases the energy at such position of the contact carrier to enhance rapid movement of the contact carrier to its different switching position.
Abstract: Timing apparatus for controlling the ON-OFF operation of a lamp or appliance. The timing apparatus is plugged into an electric wall receptacle to energize an internal synchronous motor that turns a time dial with setting pins thereon. The pins control the opening and closing of internal switch means for the lamp or appliance. The apparatus is relatively small, and is simple to manufacture, assemble and service.
Abstract: Clamping apparatus extending through a passageway formed in the frame of a game ball racket for applying non-uniform clamping pressure to a length of a game ball string adjacent an end thereof to clamp the length of string to the game ball racket frame, the non-uniform clamping pressure is minimum at the forward or pulled end of the clamped length of string where the tensile stress produced in the clamped length of string due to stringing and play is maximum and which non-uniform clamping pressure increases to a maximum at the free or rearward end of the clamped length of string where the tensile stress therein is minimum; the tendency of the clamped length of string to rupture at the forward or pulled end of the clamped length of string where the tensile stress is maximum is reduced because the non-uniform clamping pressure applied by the clamping apparatus of the present invention is minimum at this critical point.

Abstract: Filter media sheets comprising particulate retention aid consisting of cellulose pulp of +100 to -100 Canadian Standard Freeness, and method of making the same.
Abstract: An apparatus for the drying of a slurry being conveyed on a movable support including a steam producing arrangement below the movable support forming a steam atmosphere. A film of condensed vapor is produced above the slurry caused by heat transfer through the movable support, and an air drying arrangement is adapted to propel a stream of air across the slurry surface so as to entrain the vapor therein and to remove it from the slurry.
Abstract: A rounder bar with a biased flexible foot portion responsive to surface irregularities of a conveyor for maintaining a continuous contact with the conveyor along the full length of the rounder bar.
Abstract: Tobacco sheet is prepared from high solids aqueous slurries incorporating a reinforcing agent constituted by unrefined short cellulose fiber, having an average length of less than 2.0 mm.
Abstract: A filter media sheet comprising fine particulate and a self-bonding matrix of cellulose fiber, the surfaces of at least one of which are modified with cationic colloidal silica.
Abstract: An automatic bowling scoring system is disclosed including a central manager's console unit linked in parallel over a plurality of communication buses with a plurality of lane score processors having printing and CRT display monitor units. The manager's console sends commands to the score processors, and thereby gains control over the execution sequences followed by this score processor and modifies its functional sequence. In particular, the manager's console is capable of selectivity controlling the display at any lane pair processor, to cause display of locally generated game score information, or supplementary information developed at the manager's console. The manager's console can also cause the transfer of the locally generated game score information appearing on any monitor to be routed over the buses to the manager's console display monitor.
Abstract: An ultrasonic, non-destructive inspection system for detecting separations and/or holes in vehicle tires. The system employs a through transmission method at ultrasonic inspection in which the ultrasonic transmitter array and the ultrasonic receiver array are both mounted in air and in a non-contacting, non-critical relationship with the tire undergoing inspection. The inspection is performed in one revolution of the tire. The ultrasonic transmitters are pulsed and the receivers are sampled during predetermined time intervals which are related to the transmitter/receiver/tire geometry. This eliminates the problems of talking around and standing waves. The problem of transmitter--transmitter interference is eliminated by transmitter frequency separation and transmitter array pointing geometry. The problem wherein tread pattern fluctuations in the received signal interfere with flaw detection is eliminated by the use of a finite sampled data filter whose period is adjusted to the period of the tread pattern.
Abstract: Switch actuating mechanism for use in a timing device. The mechanism is simple, easy to manufacture, and is reliable in operation. The mechanism is selectively adjustable to maintain the switch continuously ON, continuously OFF, or ON and OFF in response to time setting pins on a rotating time dial.
Abstract: A bidirectional buffing blade for tire rasps with cutting and dragging teeth of the same configuration with reduced drag, improved heat transfer and cutting teeth with a substantially constant radial rake angle and land width which does not change with wear.
Abstract: Process for production of anionically charged filter media sheet including pretreatment of filter elements with cationic charge modifier, preferably employing inorganic colloidal silica charge modifiers. The resulting filters are used for the removal of haze or haze formers from beverages.
Abstract: Apparatus for accurately cutting pits or anomalies in steel pipe or plate stock to be used as a standard for calibrating magnetic flux leakage detection equipment used for testing for anomalies in such stock.
Abstract: In a riding mower having a clutch controlled belt drive and foot brake, linkage between the brake and clutch having lost motion insures that the clutch is disengaged whenever the brake is applied.
Abstract: A beverage stabilization process in which unstable beverages are contacted in a haze-free condition and at ambient temperature with positive-charge modified particulates, especially in the form of filter sheets, to initiate haze formation and the thus-formed haze is thereafter removed from the beverage at ambient temperature thereby resulting in the stabilization of the beverage.
