Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for object discovery and object mapping through an application with a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Objects are discovered through an object recommendation channel and through user input of key words and/or key phrases. Each object includes an Intensity of Interest (IoI), which is a relative preference for an object reflected by relative size in the object map. Additionally, the object map provides a visual display which indicates relationships among objects.

Abstract: The present invention discloses numerous implementations of system and method which receives a user request and, using methods of natural language processing including part of speech tagging, analyses the user request to generate a query to a database of information. Based on the machine understanding, the system presents an interactive representation of the uttered request back to the user. This provides context to the user, which explains the machine understanding of the request and acts as an interface to iteratively refine or adjust the machine understanding by altering specific elements of the uttered language. The methods of altering specific elements of the uttered language may vary depending on the element and a variety of user selectable interfaces may be used to display one or more queried elements along with alternative elements pertaining to the queried element. The user could select an alternative element and change the database query.

Abstract: Methods and systems for Predictive Malware Defense (PMD) are described. The systems and methods can utilize advanced machine-learning (ML) techniques to generate malware defenses preemptively. Embodiments of PMD can utilize models, which are trained on features extracted from malware families, to predict possible courses of malware evolution. PMD captures these predicted future evolutions in signatures of as yet unseen malware variants to function as a malware vaccine. These signatures of predicted future malware “evolutions” can be added to the training set of a machine-learning (ML) based malware detection and/or mitigation system so that it can detect these new variants as they arrive.

Abstract: A system for scoring micro-blogging messages is provided, including an extractor, and evaluator, a calculator, and a publisher. The extractor may be configured to receive micro-blogging messages, to detect messages containing terms of interest, to extract raw data, and to store the data in a database. The evaluator may be configured to access and parse the stored data into tokenized data, and to store the tokenized data in a database. The evaluator may also be configured to identify relevant micro-blogging messages; to tag message as indicative; and to filter messages from low-volume or malicious sources before being tagged as indicative. The calculator may be configured to access a sentiment dictionary; to calculate a sentiment score of the tokenized data, and to calculate a sentiment signature for a term of interest. The publisher may be configured to provide access to clients of the system.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for using vehicle signature data from a single inductive loop sensor to estimate vehicle speed. Two regressors are calculated from the vehicle signature: the “inverse of the duration” and the “slew rate”. A point is found by normalizing the vehicle signature in amplitude and determining the earliest point in the normalized signature to cross a set threshold. The slew rate is the slope of the normalized vehicle signature at this point. Regression models are generated from empirical data for several vehicle categories. Using the regression model for the category of vehicle and the two regressors vehicle speed is estimated. The regression models have been demonstrated to be robust eliminating the need for site-specific calibration or estimation.
Abstract: Methods are provided for semantic processing of data files including detecting formats of data embedded in the data files and converting the data to formats compatible with a data analysis tool. The method may comprise semantically analyzing components of the data files to assess formatting across a required set of criterions needed by the data analysis tool and determining sets of data manipulation operations to perform to convert the data file to a compatible format. Semantic analysis of values in criterions across data entries may allow for groups of entries to be associated together with transaction ID values common to and unique to the groups of entries associated with a common transaction. The method may group data entries based on values in criterions, test potential groupings based on a behavior test to assess characteristics of entries when grouped in the proposed manner, and generate a new transaction ID criterion in each of the data entries.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing signals by signal owners. Signals are indicators of data that are derived from data sources and abstracted to protect the underlying data. The signal owner first converts its own underlying data into a “signal” or indicator that represents the data without disclosing it or providing it. Signal sellers determine if they wants share signals based upon buyer, price, and other rules, including limitations on signal use. Signal buyers determine signal value based upon their objectives.

Abstract: The invention features devices and methods for collecting and measuring light from external light sources. In general, the devices of the invention feature a light diffusing element, e.g., as a component of a light collector, connected by a light conducting conduit, e.g., a fiber optic cable, to a light measuring device, e.g., a spectrometer. This light diffusing element allows, e.g., for substantially uniform light diffusion across its surface and thus accurate measurements, while permitting the total footprint of the device to remain relatively small and portable. This light diffusing element also allows flexibility in scaling of the device to permit use in a wide range of applications.
