Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a mobile apparatus including: a sensor configured to detect acceleration applied to the mobile apparatus and to generate a detection signal; a memory configured to record count data based on the detection signal, the count data associated with movement of the mobile apparatus; a counting module configured to count the number of user's steps based on the count data; a sound module configured to sound; and a counting control module configured to control the counting module to stop counting of the number of user's steps when the sound module starts sounding.

Abstract: A call handling system receives an incoming call from a caller. In response to receiving the incoming call, the call handling system determines a call count for the caller. The call count for the caller is based on a number of calls in a sequence of calls received by the call handling system from the caller, including the incoming call. A maximum amount of time between any of the calls in the sequence of calls does not exceed an expiration period. Based on the call count for the caller, the call handling system identifies and performs an action to take with regard to the incoming call.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention may include systems and methods for facilitating IT assessments. According to one embodiment, a method for representing information technology impact on an enterprise is provided. The method may include characterizing each of multiple IT applications according to multiple factors; and generating an operational impact index value for each of the IT applications based at least in part on the characterization of the respective IT application. Each operational impact index value may relate to an impact index scale representing a relative impact of the respective IT application on an enterprise.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are presented for providing unlimited access to media content, such as music. A media server environment can be provided, which maintains an instance of each subscriber account and a central archive of media content. Further, selected media content can be downloaded to, and stored locally at, a subscriber device, such as on a secure storage device. Access to the local media content can be controlled through the media server environment based on the status of the subscriber's account. If the subscriber's account becomes inactive, access to the downloaded media content can be disabled. Once the subscriber's account is reactivated, access to the downloaded media content can be restored. Additionally, access to the media server environment, including the central archive of media content, also can be controlled based on individual subscriber account status.

Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to allowing a user to provide speech input intended for a speech-enabled application program into a mobile communications device, such as a smartphone, that is not connected to the computer that executes the speech-enabled application program. The mobile communications device may provide the user's speech input as audio data to a broker application executing on a server, which determines to which computer the received audio data is to be provided. When the broker application determines the computer to which the audio data is to be provided, it sends the audio data to that computer. In some embodiments, automated speech recognition may be performed on the audio data before it is provided to the computer. In such embodiments, instead of providing the audio data, the broker application may send the recognition result generated from performing automated speech recognition to the identified computer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, computer readable media, and apparatuses for providing enhanced content are presented. Data including a first program, a first caption stream associated with the first program, and a second caption stream associated with the first program may be received. The second caption stream may be extracted from the data, and a second program may be encoded with the second caption stream. The first program may be transmitted with the first caption stream including first captions and may include first content configured to be played back at a first speed. In response to receiving an instruction to change play back speed, the second program may be transmitted with the second caption stream. The second program may include the first content configured to be played back at a second speed different from the first speed, and the second caption stream may include second captions different from the first captions.

Abstract: Some embodiments relate to performing a search for content via the Internet, wherein user input specifying a search query is supplied to a mobile communications device, such as, for example, a smartphone. The mobile communications device separately issues the search query to a plurality of search engines and can receive the results from each search engine and display the results to the user. Thus, the user does not have to separately issue the query to each of the plurality of search engines.

Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a method of performing a search for content on the Internet, in which a user may issue a search query, and the search engine or engines to which that query is provided may be determined dynamically based on any of a variety of factors. Abstract: A routing system can be configured to determine a route based on availability and reliability of location reference devices to determine a most reliable route between a source and a destination. Visibility information that is indicative of availability of at least a threshold number of location reference devices along the route can be determined. For each of a plurality of routes between the source and the destination, a reliability rating associated with the route can be determined based on the visibility information associated with the route. The reliability rating is indicative of a reliability of the route and an ability of the routing system to maintain continuous connectivity to the at least the threshold number of location reference devices along the route. The reliability ratings of the plurality of routes are compared to identify and to present one of the plurality of routes with a highest reliability rating.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a media playing apparatus and a media processing method. The media playing apparatus comprising a playing unit that plays media files containing tags, wherein the media playing apparatus further comprising: a recording unit that records play events of the media files by the playing unit; an extracting unit that extracts the tags of the media files played by the playing unit; and an acquiring unit that acquires a media file playing frequency or a media file amount corresponding to each tag of a predetermined tag type among the extracted tags according to the play events recorded by the recording unit. The embodiment of the present invention can acquire more media files or other information by using the media file playing frequency or the media file amount corresponding to each tag.

A user may supply a search query to a device, and the device may issue the search query to a plurality of search engines, including at least one general purpose search engine and at least one site-specific search engine. Abstract: The present invention provides a method of resolving reception conflicts for a multi-card multi-standby mobile terminal, which is for resolving the conflicts of the mobile terminal based on Goble System for Mobile communication (GSM) network and in the standby mode, including: acquiring synchronization result with base stations and judging if there are time slot conflicts between multiple SIM cards of the multi-card multi-standby mobile terminal according to the synchronization result; if the conflicts being non-time slot conflicts, receiving and processing data of different SIM cards in different time slots of a TDMA frame; and if the conflicts being time slot conflicts, receiving and processing data of a non-current SIM card in redundant frames of BCCH or CCCH of a current SIM card.

A radio frequency switch mounted on the circuit substrate is selectively connected with either the first ground terminal or the second ground terminal, so that the frequency-tunable antenna transmits and receives a wireless signal in first frequency band or a second frequency band.

Abstract: Noise-suppressing techniques using a dual-microphone headset include methods in which first and second audio input signals are generated from first and second microphones placed in or near a user's ears, or on each side of the user's throat. These audio input signals are correlated, to produce a correlation signal, and are also combined, to produce an intermediate audio signal. An output audio signal is generated by selectively adjusting the amplitude of the intermediate audio signal, based on the correlation signal, to emphasize correlated components of the first and second audio input signals, relative to uncorrelated components.

Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a method of performing a search for content on the Internet, in which a user may speak a search query and speech recognition may be performed on the spoken query to generate a text search query to be provided to a plurality of search engines. This enables a user to speak the search query rather than having to type it, and also allows the user to provide the search query only once, rather than having to provide it separately to multiple different search engines.
