Abstract: A communication apparatus is provided that can prevent decrease of transmission efficiency. In the apparatus, transmission processing section (107) transmits data, provides a non-transmission period on an intermittent basis, and stops transmission of the data in the non-transmission period. Reception processing section (103) receives a retransmission request for the data transmitted by transmission processing section (107). HARQ control section (105) performs retransmission processing of data requested to be retransmitted, wherein when a time of retransmission of the data requested to be retransmitted is in the non-transmission period, the HARQ control section stops the retransmission processing, and when the retransmission request is received again, the HARQ control section resumes the retransmission processing.

Abstract: A diagnostic testing utility is used to perform single link diagnostics tests including an electrical loopback test, an optical loopback test, a link traffic test, and a link distance measurement test. To perform the diagnostic tests, two ports at each end of a link are identified and then statically configured by a user. The ports will be configured as D_Ports and as such will be isolated from the fabric with no data traffic flowing through them. The ports will then be used to send test frames to perform the diagnostic tests.

Abstract: A distributed simulation system is composed of simulator stations linked over a network that each renders real-time video imagery for its user from scene data stored in its data storage. The simulation stations are each connected with a physics farm that manages the virtual objects in the shared virtual environment based on their physical attribute data using physics engines, including an engine at each simulation station. The physics engines of the physics farm are assigned virtual objects so as to reduce the effects of latency, to ensure fair fight requirements of the system, and, where the simulation is of a vehicle, to accurately model the ownship of the user at the station. A synchronizer system is also provided that allows for action of simulated entities relying on localized closed loop controls to cause the entities to meet specific goal points at specified system time points.

Abstract: A technique for utilizing an intermediate access point (IAP) with a wireless access point (WAP) that uses 3-address mode involves making use of a bridge table that includes media access control (MAC) addresses of stations registered with the IAP and internet protocol (IP) addresses of the stations stored in association with the corresponding MAC address. A bridging engine can obtain an IP address from a WAP IP frame and match the IP address to an IP address in the bridge table to find the corresponding MAC address. The bridging engine can encapsulate at least a portion of the WAP IP frame to create an IAP frame with the corresponding MAC address as the receiver address (RA).

  • Publication number: 20120048339
Abstract: A multi-junction group III-V compound semiconductor solar cell and fabrication method thereof forms a 2D photonic crystal structure in the topmost window layer of the stacked solar cell units by etching holes in the window layer. The 2D photonic crystal structure causes omni-directional reflection of the sunlight along any transverse plane of the 2D photonic crystal structure and directs the oblique sunlight to enter the bottom surface of the holes, thereby increasing the amount of incident light. By applying the property that the 2D photonic crystal structure causes a wider range of wavelengths to have higher transmission efficiency at the window layer to the multi-junction group III-V compound semiconductor solar cell, energy conversion efficiency may be effectively increased.

  • Publication number: 20120050110
Abstract: A microstrip for wireless communication includes a main body and two connection bodies formed on the main body. The main body defines a slot therein, and the slot includes a plurality of zigzag units. Feed signals are input to and output from the main body through the two connection bodies to generate quasi-transverse electric magnetic modes (QTEM) in the main body for transmitting wireless signals. The QTEM includes an odd mode and an even mode that are both capable of transmitting the wireless signals. When the odd mode and the even mode synchronously transmits the wireless signals, the slot adjusts a length of a transmission path of signals transmitted by the odd mode, such that the phase velocity of transmitting the wireless signals by the odd mode is adjusted to substantially equal to the phase velocity of transmitting the wireless signals by the even mode.
