Abstract: An electromagnetic field strength reducing device includes a high-frequency wave eliminator that eliminates a high frequency component from an electrical signal input from a signal source. An electrical signal line is disposed between the high-frequency wave eliminator and the electrical member so as to convey the electrical signal with the high frequency component eliminated to an electrical member. The device also includes a resonant-frequency regulator connected between the electrical signal line and ground to cause the electrical signal line to be resonant at a frequency used for radio communication. The electromagnetic field strength reducing device may be employed in a portable electronic device with a HAC standard radio frequency communication compliance requirement, and use a corresponding method to eliminate the high frequency component.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to method and a communication device (100) for associating a contact record pertaining to a remote speaker (220) with a mnemonic image (191) based on attributes of the speaker (220). The method comprises receiving voice data of the speaker (220); in a communication session with a source device (200). A source determination representing the speaker (220) is registered, and then the received voice data is analyzed so that voice data characteristics can be extracted. Based on these voice data characteristics a mnemonic image (191) can be selected, and associated to a contact record in which the source determination is stored. The mnemonic image (191) may be selected among images previously stored in the device, or derived through editing of such images.
Abstract: A portable electronic device and control method thereof perform an unlocking operation and several page turning operations for a display of the portable electronic device. Light intensities in several positions of the light sensors are detected in a preset time period. The portable electronic device determines whether the operating mode is a predetermined operating mode and determines whether the portable electronic device is locked by the detected light intensities. The portable electronic device unlocks the portable electronic device upon detecting the portable electronic device is locked. Furthermore, the portable electronic executes at least one page turning operation on the display unit upon detecting the portable electronic device is unlocked.

That is, the following is a method and apparatus for providing dynamic subchannel assignments that provide the benefits of both adjacent subchannel assignments and distributed subchannel assignments.
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing network route redundancy through Layer 2 devices, such as a loop free Layer 2 network having a plurality of switching devices. A virtual switch is coupled to the loop free Layer 2 network, the virtual switch having two or more switches configured to transition between master and backup modes to provide redundant support for the loop free Layer 2 network, the switches communicating their status through use of a plurality of redundancy control packets. The system also includes means for allowing the redundancy control packets to be flooded through the Layer 2 network. The means may include time-to-live data attached to the redundancy control packet which is decremented only when the packets are transferred through devices which are configured to recognize the protocol used in redundancy control packets.
Abstract: A power supply apparatus including a near-field wireless communication unit that wirelessly communicates with a plurality of communication terminals, a power transmission unit that sets a plurality of resonance frequencies to transfer power in a non-contact manner to each of the plurality of communication terminals, and a control unit that determines a priority level of each of the communication terminals based on identification information received from the communication terminals and determines an amount of power transmitted at each of the resonance frequencies based on the determined priority levels.

Abstract: A wireless communication system provides a wireless communication service over multiple frequency band classes. The system monitors the amount of active mode users and idle mode users in the frequency band classes. The system selects one of the frequency band classes for a wireless communication device based on the amount of active mode users and idle mode users in the frequency band classes. The system provides the wireless communication service to the wireless communication device over the selected one of the frequency band classes.
Abstract: A system for implementing a display which also serves as one or more of a tactile user interface touchscreen, light field sensor, proximate hand gesture sensor, and lensless imaging camera. In an implementation, an OLED array can be used for light sensing as well as light emission functions. In one implementation a single OLED array is used as the only optoelectronic user interface element in the system. In another implementation two OLED arrays are used, each performing and/or optimized from different functions. In another implementation, an LCD and an OLED array are used in various configurations. The resulting arrangements allow for sharing of both optoelectric devices as well as associated electronics and computational processors, and are accordingly advantageous for use in handheld devices such as cellphone, smartphones, PDAs, tablet computers, and other such devices.
Abstract: A method for speech enabling an application can include the step of specifying a speech input within a speech-enabled markup. The speech-enabled markup can also specify an application operation that is to be executed responsive to the detection of the speech input. After the speech input has been defined within the speech-enabled markup, the application can be instantiated. The specified speech input can then he detected and the application operation can be responsively executed in accordance with the specified speech-enabled markup.

Abstract: An assignment device (1) assigns word class information (WKI) to one or more words of text information (ETI). Based on word-class sequence information (WK-AI) formed from this assigned word class information (WKI), actions (A) are executed in order to notify the user of conflicts or to provide the user with background information (HI) relating to words in the text information (TT).
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a mobile apparatus including: a plurality of input sections each configured to display at least one image that corresponds to an input value assigned thereto; a plurality of label areas provided correspondingly to the plurality of input sections, each of the label areas labeled with at least one characters associated with the input value that is assigned to a corresponding one of the plurality of input sections; a photosensor configured to measure ambient illuminance; and a display controller configured to control turn-off and turn-on of image-display at the plurality of input sections based on the ambient illuminance.
Abstract: A voice response system attempts to respond to spoken user input and to provide computer-generated responses. If the system decides it cannot provide valid responses, the current state of user session is determined and forwarded to a human operator for further action. The system maintains a recorded history of the session in the form of a dialog history log. The dialog history and information as to the reliability of past speech recognition efforts is employed in making the current state determination. The system includes formatting rules for controlling the display of information presented to the human operator.
