Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMD) presents content for viewing by users. The HMD includes a display element for displaying content to a user wearing the HMD and a detector (e.g., camera) for capturing one or more images of a retina of an eye of the user, where the one or more images are captured while the retina is reflecting light originating from one or more tracking light sources positioned at predetermined locations. The HMD also includes a controller for identifying one or more features of the retina based on the captured one or more images of the retina and for determining one or more optical metrics based in part on the identified one or more features of the retina.

Abstract: Particles are removed from electronic components, such as components of data storage devices by use of an electrochemical process. An electronic component is immersed in an electrochemical bath, and a voltage is applied across the +ve electrode and ?ve electrode in an amount sufficient to remove charged particles present on a surface of the electronic component.
Abstract: A bucket caddy stably holds a bucket above a horizontal support surface or ground for easier access to the contents of the bucket. The bucket caddy has a retainer with slots into which at least three legs are movably joined. The legs each have a shelf surface and a U-shaped hook disposed at their proximal ends. When splayed apart, the shelf surfaces point radially inwardly toward the retainer with their top surfaces in a common plane onto which the bottom of the bucket may be positioned. The U-shaped hooks receive elastic bands, each of which has an S-shaped hook at its opposite end adapted to join a portion of a rim of the bucket. After the bucket is separated from the caddy, the legs rotate so that their central axes are parallel or substantially parallel to one another in a storage configuration. A hook and loop fastener tape wraps around the legs in the storage configuration.
Abstract: In a method for infusing a gas from a gas source into a liquid beverage, liquid beverage is driven from a beverage container into a liquid inlet port of a venturi mixing device. Nitrogen is infused into the liquid beverage by driving nitrogen through a gas inlet port of the venturi mixing device, thereby delivering nitrogen-infused liquid beverage to a discharge port of the venturi mixing device. The nitrogen-infused liquid beverage is poured from the discharge port through a faucet.

Abstract: Techniques of providing illumination to a head-mounted display (HMD) involve providing off-board illumination apart from the HMD. An off-board illumination unit delivers the illumination to the HMD via optical fibers. The optical fibers are lightweight and do not restrict motion of a user. Because the power source is less restricted, the off-board illumination unit provides flexibility in the hardware used to generate the illumination. For example, the illumination unit may use red, green, and blue narrow-band diode lasers. Further, by controlling modes in the fiber and providing additional light-guiding hardware, the angles at which light strikes LCD pixels may be largely restricted to certain specified angles. Restricted angles of incidence enable the use of fast-switching liquid crystals without degrading the image quality. Such a restriction allows for high-resolution imaging using rapid switching of the liquid crystal which enables very low latencies.

Abstract: Techniques are described for obtaining user activity information and navigational mnemonic information. The activity information and navigational mnemonic information can be used to control information presented in displays in a manner that can assist a user in locating an activity using displayed navigational mnemonics. User activity information can include an application identifier and a content identifier. Navigational mnemonic information can include a resource identifier and a relevance identifier. A user can search for activities based on a relationship between a navigational mnemonic and an activity, such as a temporal relationship. Applications can register both activity information and navigational mnemonic information through an interface, and a navigational mnemonic feed service can provide navigation mnemonics that are not directly related to user activity on user computer devices.

Abstract: A method is provided. The method includes: establishing a database of a plurality of individuals, data for each individual including identity, short range wireless device information, and at least one rule regarding expected interaction by the individual relative to the area; receiving probe signal information from a plurality of sensors around an area, each of the sensors being configured to receive probe signals from proximate wireless devices, the probe signals lacking information directly identifying an owner of the originating wireless device; cross referencing at least some of the received probe signals with at least a portion of the database; identifying, based at least on the cross referencing, a presence of an unauthorized individual in the area; and notifying a supervising authority of the identified unauthorized individual.
Abstract: Techniques of compressing color images in the presence of chromatic aberrations involve performing, prior to compression, a chromatic aberration correction operation on a color image. Along these lines, the chromatic aberration of an imaging system may be represented as a vector displacement map between a red channel and a green channel of a color image, a blue channel and a green channel of the color image, or both. In some implementations, prior to adding the vector displacements to each of the images of the red channel and the blue channel, these displacements are weighted according to proximity from an edge of each of the respective red and blue images. In some further implementations, the vector displacement maps as well as the weights are blurred with a blurring kernel such as a gaussian. Once these vector displacements are added to each of the red and blue images, the resulting color images are linearly combined to produce a new brightness channel Y.
Abstract: It is recognized herein that as the number of transmit antennas in cellular systems (e.g., NR or 5G systems) increase, the Channel State information (CSI) feedback overhead may increase to unacceptable levels, and the current CSI feedback might not support beamforming training for NR. Embodiments described herein provide an enhanced and more efficient design for Channel State Information feedback as compared to current approaches.
