Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) solar irradiation assessment system may automate several design parameters of solar panel design, cost and payoff estimations, and installation. The system determines the irradiance at various locations on a roof during various time periods. The system accounts for the effects of various existing or potential or future obstacles proximate the structure (e.g., on the structure). In some embodiments, a visual model (e.g., two-dimensional or three-dimensional) of the roof may be shown with a heatmap of irradiance values and/or graphical placement of solar panels. In other embodiments, the data may be analyzed and reported without visual presentation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer-readable media storing executable instructions, for enhancing robot learning. In some implementations, a robot stores first embeddings generated using a first machine learning model, and the first embeddings include one or more first private embeddings that are not shared with other robots. The robot receives a second machine learning model from a server system over a communication network. The robot generates a second private embedding for each of the one or more first private embeddings using the second machine learning model. The robot adds the second private embeddings to the cache of the robot and removes the one or more first private embeddings from the cache of the robot.

Abstract: Vehicle systems include features for performing remote park assist (RePA) operations. One system include a feature where a user provides a continuous input via a touchscreen on a mobile device. The mobile device transmits a message and a vehicle autonomously traverses a calculated parking path while the message is being received by the vehicle. Another system include a feature where the vehicle autonomously move to a parking space based on data received from the mobile device. The mobile device receives user inputs on a display showing representations of the vehicle and its surrounding areas to generate the data. Another system include a feature where the mobile device determines whether the user is a first time user of a RePA application. The mobile device operates in a certain training mode based on the determination.

The method further includes tracing, by the processor, lidar beams from a lidar system on the vehicle through the voxel grid, identifying, by the processor, a max subarray for each column in the voxel grid, classifying, by the processor, each column with a free space level, and outputting, by the processor, the classified columns as an image.
Abstract: The various implementations described herein include systems and methods for determining that media items are currently being presented. In one aspect, a method performed at a client device includes: (1) identifying a media item potentially being presented on an output device coupled to the client device; (2) calculating a level of confidence that the identified media item is currently being presented to the user; (3) subsequent to the calculating, determining that at least one predetermined event associated with user interaction with the media item has occurred; and (4) based on the at least one predetermined event, increasing or decreasing the level of confidence that the identified media item is currently being presented to the user.
Abstract: A vehicle traction battery assembly including a battery cell, a busbar, and a thermal spray is provided. The battery cell may include a terminal having an angled taper upper portion extending therefrom. The busbar may define a through-hole having a taper defining an angle substantially opposite of the angled taper upper portion such that a cavity is defined therebetween when the terminal extends through the through-hole. The thermal spray may be deposited within the cavity to secure the busbar to the terminal. The thermal spray may be formed from a metallic powder selected to include particles that deform and connect when accelerated to a speed of approximately 500 mph or more to join the particles and form a bond securing the terminal to the busbar. The particles of the metallic powder may be iron, copper, aluminum, nickel, iron, or magnesium.

Abstract: A dual air flow rebuildable dripping atomizer for use with electronic cigarettes which uses a sleeve lock that allows the user to adjust and direct the air flow is provided. The adjustable air flow sleeve also allows the sleeve to be locked in place preventing the e-liquid from leaking out. Rotating the adjustable air flow sleeve in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction allows not only the direction of the air flow to be determined but how much air enters an inner air chamber of the atomizer. As a result, a user can determine, for example, the size of the vapor cloud and the intensity of the flavor. Additionally, the adjustable air flow sleeve may be adjusted to block air holes located on an inner edge surface of the adjustable air flow sleeve preventing the e-liquid from leaking.
Abstract: The disclosure describes a breast implant device product that mimics the natural pectoral fat of the breast and is characterized by an incomplete pyramid with isosceles triangular base and wedge-shaped edges and sloping faces that meet at acute angles with variable degree located medially, laterally, and on the top and a footprint characterized by a semicircular lower portion and an oval paraboloid upper portion and a center of gravity located closer to the footprint than to the profile, the said footprint is advantageously converging and moving towards the underlying surface as the chest wall with a method of manufacturing and a method of use of the said implant including a breast pyramid sizing system.
Abstract: A wellbore apparatus includes a first component having a first element and a second component having a second element. The first component and the second component are connected by a multi-start thread connection and the first element and the second element being operatively connected to one another.
Abstract: A micro machine may be in or less than the micrometer domain. The micro machine may include a micro actuator and a micro shaft coupled to the micro actuator. The micro shaft is operable to be driven by the micro actuator. A tool is coupled to the micro shaft and is operable to perform work in response to at least motion of the micro shaft.
Abstract: A higher coding efficiency for coding a significance map indicating positions of significant transform coefficients within a transform coefficient block is achieved by the scan order by which the sequentially extracted syntax elements indicating, for associated positions within the transform coefficient block, as to whether at the respective position a significant or insignificant transform coefficient is situated, are sequentially associated to the positions of the transform coefficient block, among the positions of the transform coefficient block depends on the positions of the significant transform coefficients indicated by previously associated syntax elements. Alternatively, the first-type elements may be context-adaptively entropy decoded using contexts which are individually selected for each of the syntax elements dependent on a number of significant transform coefficients in a neighborhood of the respective syntax element, indicated as being significant by any of the preceding syntax elements.
Abstract: Hexagonal Boron Nitride (hBN) is a synthetic material that may be used in several applications due to its chemical inertness, thermal stability, and other beneficial properties. hBN composite materials and method for making such composites are described here. Abstract: The technology described herein provides for indexing information in a bit vector search index. The bit vector search index comprises a data structure for indexing data about terms from a corpus of documents. The data structure includes a number of bit vectors. Each bit vector comprises an array of bits and corresponds to a different set of terms. Bits in the bit vector are used to represent whether at least one document corresponding to the bit includes at least one term from the set of terms corresponding to the bit vector. The bit vector search index is stored by first indexing information about documents using bit vectors on a first accumulation buffer storage device. When a threshold is satisfied, the information is transferred to bit vectors on a subsequent storage device.

Abstract: A mechanical assembly disposed on the back surface of a handheld electronic device, or a case for holding such a device, provides a pinky finger extension for an individual's hand to use an electronic device comfortably and with decreased possibility of dropping or damaging the electronic device. The pinky finger extension can be moved between a closed position, where it is inaccessible, and an open position where the user can place their fourth or pinky finger over the pinky finger extension.
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein discuss securing user-entered data in-transit between a first device and a second device. A user may enter text in a document. A first device may analyze the document to identify the user-entered text. The user-entered text may be separated from the document and transformed into an image using a machine learning algorithm. Transforming the text into an image may secure the data in-transit from the first device to a second device. The second device may receive the image and the document from the first device. The second device may reconstruct the user-entered text from the received image and re-assemble the document from the received document and the reconstructed user-entered text.
