Abstract: A computing system retrieves historical hole-by-hole data for a plurality of holes for plurality of golf tournaments for a plurality of players. The computing system clusters the plurality of holes into a plurality of clusters of hole types. The computing system generates a strokes gained metric for each hole type of the hole-by-hole data for each player. The computing system adjusts the strokes gained metric for each hole type. The computing system generates a probability of player performance of each player for each hole in the target tournament based at least one the adjusted strokes gained metric. The probability of player performance includes a probability of each player achieving each possible score for each hole. The computing system generates a projected outcome of the tournament by simulating player performance using the probability of player performance of each player.

Abstract: The present invention provides a sensing electrode, an electrochemical sensing system using the sensing electrode, methods of preparing and using the sensing electrode and the electrochemical sensing system. The sensing electrode includes a base electrode having a conductive surface, and a coating layer formed on the conductive surface. The coating layer has cavities or holes, each of which can be filled with, bound to, or occupied by, an analyte molecule. A decrease of conductivity of the sensing electrode is correlated to the number of cavities or holes that are filled with, bound to, or occupied by, the molecules of the analyte. The invention exhibits numerous technical merits such as suitability for field application, high sensitivity to analyte such as PFOA or PFAS at 1 ppt level, rapid response within minutes, and superior selectivity against interferences such as PFDA, PFOS, PFOSA, and PFHxA, among others.

Abstract: A receiver receives a multicarrier signal from a wireless communication network and determines subcarrier values of the multicarrier signal. A decoder decodes the subcarrier values to produce a set of data symbols. The multicarrier signal is characterized by a set of modulated pulse waveforms, which results from a sum of the subcarriers. Each of the modulated pulse waveforms has a different time offset. The decoder employs a set of codes for decoding the baseband signal, wherein each code comprises a different linearly increasing phase. Each of the linearly increasing phases corresponds to one of the different time offsets.

Abstract: Fluid cleaning systems for cleaning AV sensors are disclosed herein. An example fluid cleaning system includes a reservoir storing a fluid. The fluid can flow from the reservoir to a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger can transfer heat generated by a part of the AV to the fluid, thereby improving cleaning efficacy. The part may be battery, motor, engine, sensor (e.g., the sensor to be cleaned with the fluid or another sensor), etc. The heat may be an unintended product of an operation of the part. The heat exchanger can use the heat to warm up the fluid and cool down the part. Additionally or alternatively, the fluid can be heated by another heat exchanger or a heater. The heater can generate heat intended for heating the fluid. The heater may be local to the sensor to be cleaned, e.g., the heater is closer to the sensor than the reservoir.

Abstract: Computer systems and computer-implemented methods modify a machine learning network, such as a deep neural network, to introduce judgment to the network. A “combining” node is added to the network, to thereby generate a modified network, where activation of the combining node is based, at least in part, on output from a subject node of the network. The computer system then trains the modified network by, for each training data item in a set of training data, performing forward and back propagation computations through the modified network, where the backward propagation computation through the modified network comprises computing estimated partial derivatives of an error function of an objective for the network, except that the combining node selectively blocks back-propagation of estimated partial derivatives to the subject node, even though activation of the combining node is based on the activation of the subject node.
